"This was my first purchase. I went to them because of their good rating on this website.

Details:
- Ordered a Canon ZR45 Mini DV camcorder from them
- Not the lowest price, but pretty low. The only lower prices I found were from sites that had poor ratings on this site so I avoided them
- Ordered it on Sunday. Needed it shipped fast so I put a comment on the order asking them to let me know if it would ship on Monday and arrive by Wednesday.
- A Customer Service Rep both Emailed me and called me the next day to let me know the order had shipped.
- Product arrived on time in perfect order. They even sent me a coupon from Canon for a rebate offer for some software.

Since I didn't have any problems I can't rate how they deal with bad products, etc. My impression was very good though so I will definitely use them again!

"Having just come off a bad experience with dbuys (high-pressure sales job, goods never shipped, etc.), I was leery of trying to purchase camera equipment from a non-computer centric online store again. I did some homework and found Norman Camera to be a Canon authorized dealer, and to have good ratings here and at other sites. They're prices were competitive, though not the lowest - a fact I'm ok with if I feel I get the difference back in customer service.

I wanted a G2 and potentially an Optura 100mc. The site insisted I call to order the G2. "Here comes the sales job again" immediately ran through my mind. I called them up determined to hang up on the first inkling of high-pressure, low-truth BS from the salesman. Instead I was politely asked what I wanted and if that was all - no sweet deals, no battery must-haves, no veiled treats or rudeness.

Inspired by this, I inquired about a bag for the camera that could also handle the Optura. The salesman, Vince Soo, not only recommended one right off the bat, but took snapshots WITH a G2 and Optura inserted. He then emailed them to me within 10 minutes, holding up the order until I was satisfied that this was the bag I wanted. Man, I haven't had local dealers offer that much service, even as a regular customer.

I went ahead and ordered the G2, Optura, and the bag. All arrived on-time and in pristine shape and with full USA waranties. The Optura had a stuck pixel in the LCD display, but alas that's a common quality issue with TFT's on consumer video equipment and nothing Norman can control or filter (I've had this issue before with other video cameras, and not just from Canon).

Since this order, I've gotten some accessories and a Minolta Dimage7 (for zoom shots) also from Norman Camera. All items arrived in perfect condition and on time, with the sales experience always being low-pressure, informative, and upfront.

This is the first online camera site that I can honestly say rivals the best I've found for computer equipment, if not local dealers. Kudos go to Vince as well for being extremely helpful, honest, and patient.

In summary, these guys are smart, nice, and honest. I highly recommend 'em.

"I was so impressed with this company that I sent them this message:

After searching the web for a good price on a digital camera and reading countless horror stories about experiences with bad service while buying out-of-state, I was very nervous. I selected your store, mostly because it wasn't too far away. I emailed a question about a Canon S100 camera and received a prompt and honest answer. Doing more research, I settled on the newer Canon S330 and called to get a price. The price was fair and your shipping was only $8. The salesman did not pressure me to buy anything else and reassured me about the camera and its warranty. I ordered the camera at about 4 PM on Tuesday. The salesman said I should have it by Thursday. I had my doubts about that. You can imagine my surprise when the UPS man stopped at about 6 PM on Wednesday. Everything was as ordered and the camera works great. Now if I just had time to read the 150 page manual. Thank you for your honesty and great service. I will keep you bookmarked on my browser.

"This Company is commited to customer service. I am so impressed with the service I received that I am a customer for life!!! The experienced and highly trained sales staff spent over an hour on the phone with me discussing all of my options and finally I chose the Nikon D1X which they had in stock and shipped immediately ( I had it the next day). This is a company that stands behind their products as well as is fairly priced for the service they provide before, during, and after the sale. Thanks again Norman Camera."
