"I found the Nutrend website through pricewatch.com, it had the most competitive prices and also had the most reasonable shipping and handling charge. The email notification was prompt and order status page was up to date and had all the relevant information I need to track the order. The website format was very easy to follow and allows efficient search for the parts.
This is by far my biggest purchase online and was not quite sure how it would turn out. Since I already had the CPU/motherboard/monitor, I ordered all the other necessary accoutrements to build a system on my own. Some of them were leading edge technology parts. In the end I was VERY pleased with the results and am glad I found this place. Nutrend has very competitive prices, reasonable shipping and handling charge, quick order ship time, good product quality and prompt delivery. The impression I get with all of the above is that this is a very well-run business. "When I ordered my system, they said it would be shipped immediately. After a short time, I called and they said their orders were backlogged. So the system was 3 weeks late. Not really a big deal, but inconvenient.

Since that time, customer service has been unbelievably bad. Within a few months of getting the system, I noticed my A drive was having problems. Tech support suggested a few fixes, and nothing worked. I had spent an extra $50 on a 1 year onsite service agreement, and after _a lot_ of haggling, they finally agreed to send someone out. This was about 1 month before the onsite agreement was to expire. A couple weeks went by, and no one had come yet. I called and Nutrend said someone would contact me. A few more weeks, and I contacted Nutrend. They said my onsite agreement had expired, and they wouldn't send anyone.

I stewed for awhile, and began telling my friends and family not to purchase from them.

I finally got off my duff and pulled the drive out of the tower to send in for a replacement they had approved. I gave the customer service person my address, but he/she failed to record it . . . or something.

It is now about 8 weeks after I sent it in, and still nothing. I finally figured they had the wrong address. Problem is that they only use FedEx, which doesn't ship to P.O. Box. Now, I don't have a job that allows me to sit around waiting for a FedEx delivery. P.O. Box is there no problem. But Nutrend refuses to even think about sending something other than through FedEx. Nothing against FedEx, but it seems reasonable that Nutrend would have some sort of alternative shipping solution.

Anyway, the whole attitude is that I am an alien for not loving FedEx or Nutrend.

Bottom line for me is this . . . Nutrend has great buy-in price, lower than most other resellers, but once you've bought in, don't expect good service. If you get it, be happy. As for my experience with them, it has been a nightmare. They don't honor their agreements, don't apologize for inconveniences and haven't attempted in any way to make sure I have been satisfied at any point in my dealings with them."

"I purchased a hard drive, and it arrived quite promptly. However, upon handling the FedEx box I could feel something sliding around. The FedEx box contained a smaller box, and there was no packing material. Inside the smaller box was the hard drive with a sheet of bubblewrap which seemed to be put in as an afterthought. I called NuTrend to complain, and they said they'd replace the drive if it doesn't work. The point is I'm now uncomfortable with the longterm reliability of the drive, even if it works now (it is yet untested). Not a good experience. On the positive side, the woman on the phone was pleasant and professional."

I had a minor question and the technical people sent me an email answer in three hours. So far I have had no problems and would recommend Nutrend highly."
