"First of all, it takes a ridiculous amount of time before orders ship. It says on the site that it takes three days, but it took my order six. Second, I specifically asked them not to require a signature confirmation if shipping UPS, and if they absolutely had to have one to ship it Fedex. So what happens? I get a notice from UPS saying that a signature is required IN PERSON. I can't just fill out the back of the card and have UPS drop it off the next day. I actually have to be there. Don't these people realize that most of us work for a living? Leave it to these guys to make a simple order for two copper heat spreaders into a major mess. I will NEVER do business with them again!"
"I wish I had checked here first. Received all items ordered after 3 day shipping wait, and price was good. I had a KT3 Ultra ARU, 512 PC2700 and an Athlon 1800+. The CPU won't run at full FSB, so I emailed OCsystem twice. No response by a few days later so I called. Phone rang at least 30 times before being answered by some girl. She appeared to take down my info and said someone would call back. No one ever called. Worst tech support ever. Avoid this POS of an outfit."
"Save yourself the aggravation of dealing with these thieves. I was overcharged on 2 items by them, luckily not for a high amount. But it was impossible to get them to refund the money because the only time I ever manged to get them to pick up the phone. They said they were going to put me on hold while they "checked" out the situation. Well somehow their checking out caused the phone to hang up and of course noone was their when I tried to call back.
Other notes, it took them 6 days just to process my order! These guys are a pack of goons. Avoid at all cost."
"Ordered a power supply and one stick of memory. Didn't indicate method of shipping. Paid by visa. OC then sent me email indicating shipping chgs to Canada were S75.60 US. I managed to cancel and get visa reversed, but lost about $ 15.00 on the transaction.
Oddly I had just received a graphics board from Chicago which only cost $8.00 US."
"I am sorry to say that these people are to busy to care or help me and what ever they tell you is not going to happen when they say it will. I canceled my order and in the end whas happy to just get out without any losses. Here's how it started. I am worried about my order. My billing address and shipping address was the same. My e-mail is my name. They were unable to verify my credit card without my help. I could barely understand everyone I have talked to there. I had to call my bank on a 3 way call to make sure they could get my order processed quickly. Gave them my banks phone number 2 times and still ended up calling them myself. The people at my bank could not understand them very well they had to repeat things many times over. I am not getting a good feeling so far. However they were friendly and they have some of the best equipment and prices anywhere. So I have not made up my mind yet if they are worth future purchases or not. I will update this if and when I get my order."
"I was not going to post this, but it looks like I am one of many. The following is a copy of an e-mail I sent to OCSystem on 4/8. Still waiting on a reply.
I ordered 2 sticks of OCZ PC3000 with copper heat spreaders from you guys a couple of weeks ago and rec'd it last Tuesday. I have since learned that OCZ memory is typically shipped in branded, individual clear plastic boxes. Mine was not in its original plastic box, but only little pink plastic anti-static bag. Just wondering what the deal was with that.
Otherwise, the sticks look exactly the same. Frankly, I was a little miffed in general at the way they arrived as they were simply rolled up together in the receipt (an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper) and put into the box with no other packing material at all. Is this normal? No doubt they got bumped around a good bit in transit. I've also noticed that the heat spreader thermal pads are coming unattached from the RAM chips. I can squeeze the heat spreaders to the chips and they will stick for a few seconds, and then 'pop' back off. (we're talking fractions of an inch here, just not generally solid or consistent contact).
I have seen today where you guys test all memory before it leaves the shop. So, this might explain the missing original packaging. Why they couldn't be put back into the original boxes I am not sure.
Any thoughts on shipping $200 worth of memory rolled up in a piece of copy paper??
Thanks. For reference, my order information: Order# 4163

"do not buy from these crooks. i ordered an 80 cfm delta fan. they sent me a 67 cfm delta fan. when i called them they told me that the 80 cfm fan was out of stock and that i could keep that one because it was the same price. they never should have sent me something i didn't order. be warned, you may not get exactly what you order from this dishonest company."
"I had a great expierence. I ordered the copper heat spreaders. Came really fast and packaging was good. Will order from them again."
"Don't ever order from OCSYSTEM. They will tell you that your order will ship in 2-3 days, but it will not. It takes 3 days for them to process your order after they charge your credit card as soon as you click submit order. Chances are that they don't really have anything in stock. They take your money, then buy the merchandise. My order took 2 weeks to be shipped. The only reason it finally shipped when it did is because i called them about 9 times(literally) to ask them why my order hadn't shipped. My heatsink went on backorder and they never wrote me an e-mail or anything to let me know that it did. When I called to check why I hadn't received a tracking number, they told me that my HSF went on backorder(one of their own products). So I changed my order to a more expensive product and was told that it would ship that day. Well, it didn't ship for another week. So I had a whole computer minus a MB, RAM, and HSF sitting here wait for OCSYSTEM to get their butts in gear. I reitterate, NEVER order from OCSYSTEM."
"This company's shipping practices are horrible. I don't recommend buying anything from them. I ordered two 256 meg PC3200 DDR chips. Not only did it take two weeks for me to receive the product, I question the condition they are in. They were shipped in a box that was too big with absolutely no protection, so they obviously got banged around some. I haven't opened them for fear of voiding my ability to return them so I don't know if they actually work. I just received them today and sent my complaints to the company, so I'll see how the company responds in a few days (and judging from some of the other posts I have seen, if I hear from them). So far, I definitely do not recommend dealing with this company."
"this was my first purchase with this company. i ordered an enermax case w/power supply. i placed the order and didn't get an automated confirmation email(like i'm used to). i received a confirmation 2 days later along with a tracking#. it was nice of them to include a link to ups for checking this. the order didn't ship for 5 days. i though this was a bit long. especially since my credit card was charged almost immediately. it took them 2 days to process the order, 3 days to process the shipment and than 5 days shipping time! phew. outside of the wait, i was satisfied with their pricing and order tracking the provided. "
"Just a warning to anyone fool enough to order from them, they DO NOT have the Thermaltake Volcano 9 in stock. Nor the Smart fan 2. I went looking for it, and they were the only game in town, so I debated ordering, despite my previous experience. 3 phone calls resulted in 3 different answers on when they would have it, but all said "not now" One said they had been sold out for 2 months. (didn't know TT had even released pictures 2 months ago) If you are thinking about ordering a "not really in stock" item from them, read my previous review. BTW, their site lists both items as "ships in 2-3 business days"
I ordered 2 512Mb sticks of Samsung 2700DDR on 4-1. When I hadn't received a tracking number by 4-4, I called. THey said they had already gone out, but they didn't have the tracking number handy. I called again 4-5, they said they HAD NOT gone out, but were on back order until 4-8. I called 4-8, they said they had gone out 4-5. Called 4-9, said they HAD NOT gone out, backordered until 4-12. So I canceled the order. THen I went to the bank, and found they had charged my card the day I ordered. I called them back to find out why, and they said this was their normal practice, and that my credit should show up in 2-3 weeks. I explained that my bank would post the credit 24 hours after they put it through, and that I WOULD NOT WAIT 2-3 weeks to get a credit on an item they never shipped. She said it would take 2-3 weeks, and hung up.
I have ordered from them twice in the past, and aside from their 3 day order processing time, there were no problems. Then again, they items were in stock, and I never had to speak to anyone. I emailed as well as all the calls, and have yet to receive 1 email back from them. It normaly takes 10-15 calls to get someone to answer, then 30 minutes on hold while the lady figures out what she is doing. OC System and Component Authority are one in the same, both answer the phone as Encore Innovition. "
"I would advise NOT ordering a custom computer case from these folks. I placed an order for a modified case in early March. I received the case 4 weeks later. They advertise 3-5 business day turnaround. I called every week and was told the case was on back order. On the third week I was ready to cancel when they said "oh, there it is, we'll send it out tomorrow." I finally received it the following week only to find the following issues: Top rear case damage and the following missing options: 2 Chrome case handles, 16 Large Gold Thumbscrews, the side intake case fan and four of the eight drive rails. Waiting four weeks was bad enough, this is really pathetic. Of course, I called yet again to speak with a manager and was told none was available. The salesperson took my complaint and then put me on hold for almost 30 minutes. After returning to the phone, the salesperson claims their shipping people did sent out the missing options with the case, implying that I'm lying. I held firm and was told they will double check the records and send the missing parts if verified. There is no excuse for this poor service. They have one week for me to receive the missing parts or a credit card dispute with the merchant will take place. Of course, even if received, it does not make up for what has taken place, the case damage and the fact I have to install the case handles when they should have. Regarding the case damage, it's fairly minor and can be fixed, but they acted so non-caring about it. I DO NOT recommend this merchant!!!"
"Purchased a stick of Samsung 512MB PC2700 333 MHz DDR SDRAM. Price was best I could find on the net and the memory arrived on time and worked fine. Called for info prior to purchase and salesman was knowledgeable and courteous."
"Copper heat spreader (1) for my PC2700 memory. Ordered on the 9th of May and I did not receive until the 22nd. After a week of wondering where my spreader was I called and wrote emails. No answer on the telephone, and my emails went unanswered as well. Eventually I received one email stating I had ordered an out of stock item and would have to wait. HOW WAS I TO KNOW? Their site has no means to check if something is in stock or not.
Spreader finally came on the 22nd. Spreader was packed in a box twice the size of the spreader, and wrapped solely in one sheet of paper. That was the packing material, the invoice. The spreader was pinging around in the box when the UPS guy gave it to me. I thought it was broken for sure.
Good Lord. Stay Away from OCSystem. No kidding."
