"Well done, Olighting. My designer recommended your website. My husband and I found it very user friendly. Good prices. And of course, absolutely beautiful lighting. I wish I had a bigger apartment so I could fit some of the other items that I liked. The floor lamp we ordered arrived on time, in perfect condition, and looks great in the corner of our living room. "I purchased a Moooi Random Light from Olighting and I absolutely love it. I wasn’t sure about the size and the sales person at olighting was incredibly helpful in helping me determine the size that would work best based upon the size of the kitchen, table, etc etc. They really went above and beyond. After delivery, he even followed up to make sure that I was happy with how it looked after it was installed. "

"Great experience. The gave me the best price on a Flos fixture and 10% off on top of that. Chris C stayed on it and made sure the order was rushed and it was. Arrived in less than a week from the date ordered. I'll definitely work with Olighting again."

"Briefly, I ordered a $700 lamp that was supposed to arrive in 1 - 2 days (as I live in NYC). Using renovation and shipping excuses and feigned surprise that I hadn't received my lamp, Olighting put me off for 7 weeks until I was forced to call my credit card company to get my money back. Stay as far away from them as possible.

If you look on Yelp, you will see that many other people had the same experience as me.

Here are the details for those who are interested:

3/14/11: I ordered a $700 lamp. I live in NYC, so delivery was supposed to take 2 days.

3/24: Checked the website tracking info, which said shipping in 1 - 2 weeks. Decided to wait, as I didn't want to go back to searching for another lamp.

4/7: Called Chris and was told they had been closed for renovations, would ship soon. I was understanding (read: stupid) and decided to wait.

4/18: No lamp. Called Chris and wanted to cancel my order. He was very apologetic and offered to refund my shipping, plus promised to deliver by 4/22. I decided to give him one more chance.

4/29, 5/2 and 5/3: Called the store and got an answering service who wouldn't put me through to anyone in the store, but promised that Chris would call me back. He didn't.

5/4: Called the store and Chris answered. He expressed surprise I hadn't received my lamp but said he couldn't issue a refund until he checked that the lamp wasn't being delivered today.

I read Yelp reviews and then called my credit card company. They issued me a refund and said they would deal with the store. Finally finished dealing with olighting, thank god.

"Upon my initial dissatisfaction with this vendor, the company asked for a second opportunity to make it right the second time - and they did! They took responsibility for the previous order and got my new order processed and delivered within a week!!!

Says a lot that they do actually care about their customers!

"I ORDERED THE MOOOI RAIMOND LIGHT ON MARCH 21, 2011. MOOOI SHIPS ONCE A MONTH TO O'LIGHTING AND I JUST MISSED BEING INCLUDED IN THE MARCH ORDER. I WAS VERY DISSAPPOINTED AS WE HAD A HOUSEWARMING PARTY COMING UP AND I WANTED THE LIGHT. I EXPLAINED THIS TO O'LIGHTING'S CHRIS CHRISTO. "I just want to let you know how happy I am with olighting.com.
I was so surprised when our order was delivered in only FOUR days! It must have been mailed out within hours of when I placed the order.

I was also pleased to find out that when I called your customer service number for assistance, I was helped by an actual person within moments, rather than going through lots of directories or being kept on hold. And besides all that, I am so happy with the quality and style of our new drop lights and chandelier!

"I placed an order for a lamp on December 10, 2010, for $615 and expected the lamp to ship in 7-10 days as was indicated on the website.

On December 13, 2010, I received an emailed receipt from OLighting for the lamp; however, this was accompanied with a note indicating that the manufacturer's warehouse had closed for the holidays and that the lamp wouldn't ship for 3-4 weeks. Thus, the lamp would arrive well after December 25, 2010, which was particularly disappointing considering the lamp was intended as a Christmas present.

My lamp had still not arrived by January 24, 2011, so I emailed OLighting to inquire about its status and was promptly informed that it would ship in 1-2 weeks.

By February 23, 2011, the lamp had not arrived and there was no indication as to when it might ship so I emailed OLighting to request a refund. Unfortunately, I did not receive any response.

This week (February 28 - March 4, 2011) I called OLighting twice to inquire about the lamp and refund. This afternoon (March 4, 2011), I received an email form OLighting indicating that the price indicated on the website was incorrect and that the actual price was $897.60 (i.e., $282.60 above what I paid); however, they indicated that they would be willing to split the difference in prices with me.

Although I would certainly not accuse OLighting of engaging in bait-and-switch tactics, the offer to split the difference is remarkably reminiscent of a classic bait-and-switch scheme.

Addendum (April 28, 2011)
On April 26, 2011, this review was deactived as OLighting claimed they were unable to identify my transaction with them, despite the many details listed. Earlier today, I emailed a copy of my invoice to resellerratings.com and the review was soon reactivated. Every detail stated in the review above is factual and I give my strongest recommendation against using OLighting as your retailer.

"Not to trust for internet buying... We waited MONTHS for a lamp that was supposed to deliver in 3-5 days. At a time, we wanted to cancel our order so they offered us a discount to keep us, and now we are struggling to receive that discount... Totally dishonest."

"These people are dishonest. Do not deal with them. Chris C. promised me a refund after he charged me for lights that were backordered for months. After a few weeks, when my lights did not arrive, I called and found out they were backordred. Chris offered to change my order to different lights that was cheaper and told me he would credit me the difference in price plus 15%. It was just a scam. I did receive the lights but he does not return my emails or calls about the credit that the company owes me. Totally dishonest and slimy. Do not buy from this store."
