"I ordered one pair of shoes from opentip on 10/9 for use on Halloween weekend (10/26 & 10/27). I was told they would email me a tracking number once the order had been shipped. As of 10/23, I still hadn't received a tracking number. I went on the website and found one that said the order was shipped 10/18, but couldn't provide me any further information. So I inquired about my product. I received an email with the tracking number and a lame apology barely in English. I clicked on the tracking number for my own piece of mind and it said "Info sent 10/18, Shipped 10/24, Estimated arrival date, 10/29" I will NEVER buy anything from opentip every again, and I will happily spread the word regarding opentip being a horrible retailer.
After posting this review I received the following email (I did choose to receive my shipping costs back):

I double checked the history of this order. Please allow me to explain the situation for you.
This was a drop-ship order. We processed the order on Oct 10 which was the next day after we received your order. That means we sent your order to our vendor on Oct 10. The vendor didn't ship the order until Oct 23. We didn't get any notification of the delay. We tried to contact them but failed. Later we found their company was running in bad condition and we decided to discontinue business with this vendor. Fortunately they finished this order before they shut down. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience happened to you.
Over the past few weeks, our company has added a significant number of new staffs to meet increasing customer service. Currently, they are still in training progress, and maybe sometimes they are not so professional in handling special case. We will make extra efforts to upgrade our service. I am sure shipping delay will be dramatically reduced and we are working very hard to restore customer confidence and satisfaction.
We feel sorry that we could not process a return for this order coz the vendor is no longer in business. But we are able to credit you the shipping fee for this order as compensation for the delay.
Please kindly advise if this solution is acceptable.

"I order a product online - a sheriffs halloween costume which included a shirt, a hat, a toy gun and belt. I wasn't worried about the return policy because their link on their footer of their homepage said that it could be returned within 14 days. But our Halloween party got canceled so I emailed them to initiate the return.
But apparently I wasn't able to return the product because, let me quote the email "Thank for reviewing our return policy but you can also see the return exceptions:
Lingerie, swim suits, underwear, and nightgowns
No return is allowed for lingerie, swim suits, underwear, nightgowns, or any other similar products due to hygiene concern. Such items couldn't be reselled. So it will become a complete loss for us if they are returned."
I explained that it was nothing of the sort. Did they think this was a stripper costume? I am really confused.
When I explained them that it was not similar - they said it was just their "policy" and that they were sorry.
I emailed them to tell them that everything was fine on my end because I was able to sell it on Craigslist. I tried to give them constructive criticism that they should re-access their return policy.
But Belinda Hsu said " There is noting wrong with our return policy." Either they didn't understand the product type and/or that it was still in it's packaging (never opened) and/or they don't care and just want to make a quick (yet unsustainable) buck. "

The day after I submitted my order I contacted Opentip asking if I could pay increased shipping to have it expressed to me. I included my phone number and let them know I needed my order by Saturday. I was sent a form to fill out and an hour later I got an
email stating that my order was shipped and would be delivered between 10/12 and 10/17. Then there was no tracking info provided. Lastly, according to the delivery dates I should have had these by 10/17 and they are still not here!!! I called the company and they were NEVER SHIPPED!! Why would you send an email saying it was shipped when it was not.
I truly don't know what to do at this point. I can only suggest to the 100 or so families that I deal with, not to order from Opentip. The girls had been looking forward to showing their support of Breast Cancer with these laces that now will never come.
