When the items arrived, I thought the power supply was forgotten. I did notice that there was one installed in the case but I thought it was the standard 'factory' one. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was the PSU I wanted, installed and ready to go. It's little things like this that help convince me that a company really takes the time to take care of their customer. Everything else that I ordered from them has been working like a charm. The only bad thing I would say about them is their pricing. They're not the cheapest on the block, but they do offer more than a few 'out of the way' items that are rare everywhere else (like the specific PSU and case that I had wanted). Still, it's a small price to pay overall for the quality of the service and items that I had received. If I need to shop again for high end equipment with confidence, Outside Loop will be at the top of my list."

"This is my sixth purchase from Outside Loop... that should speak volumes. In these days of cut-throat pricing and slim margins on PC equipment you're often faced with two options. First, you can go for the rock bottom price and pray frequently that you don't have a problem... oh, and forget about customer service, there just won't be any; nor will there be any expert advice to help you make the right decision. The second option is to pay way too much, but get good service, a decent return policy that won't gouge you 25% for restocking and a person that is knowledgeable and friendly... CDW is a good example. Good service, but you pay near retail for anything you buy.

in 2001, i bought 2 computers from outside loop, based in large part on reviews here at resellerratings. i'm very pleased with these systems, except for 100% failure rate (2 of 2 within a year) of IBM gxp hard drives. but then, who knew that these performance drives would have such reliability issues.

i recommended outside loop to a friend who bought a computer in 2002. that system took a while to get running due to a really finicky matrox video capture card. it also turned out that the soyo dragon MB had defective onboard audio. i RMA'd it back to OL, which in turn they were sending back to soyo. in the packing process, i removed the HSF, but i forgot to remove the 1700+ cpu from the socket, and then did not include it in the packing list. when i received the MB back after ~1 month, the cpu was not included. this situation could potentially have been extremely unpleasant if it had happened with another vendor. as it turned out, i did not have to go through a big hassle to have the chip replaced. outside loop may not have the advantages of being as big as the Big Dudes, but the advantages it has because it's a smaller operation suit my needs very well.

the prices are fair, the selection is modest & well chosen, you don't have to worry so much about having ordeals to go through if there is a problem, and dave & bill are nice: for me, more than enough reasons to favor outside loop."
