"We deliberated on a Bookcase for some time comparing options from Overstock and many other stores. Eventually we chose Overstock because there was one on sale and it had a Ratuken discount.
Without any notification or warning, Overstock cancelled our order. Had I not logged on to check the status of the order, I would not have known. Customer service says that after I placed the order they realized they were out of stock. The plan to refund our money but now we have missed out on Black Friday discounts we could have got for alternative options.
We asked that they re-instate our order and that we would be happy to wait for re-stock but they refused. We asked that the promise to offer the item at the price we paid for when it came back in stock but they refused. They said when it comes back in stock we could talk to customer service about the "best price" but refused to promise it would be the same price. Even if it was, we have missed out on the Ratuken cashback offer on Black Friday.
We are devastated that we are now left without a bookcase and will have to pay hundreds more because of their mistake.
My advice to consumers, avoid Overstock; particularly if the product you want is running out. They may never fulfil your order and they won't even tell you when they cancel it."
"Hands down the worst company I have ever done business with. After weeks of searching for the perfect desk for my wife and I's office we finally found the exact one we wanted. After being beyond thrilled, we waited nearly 3 weeks for delivery. 72 hours before we were about to receive our purchase we were informed that the item we bought was given to another individual and we would not be receiving it. Their customer care was beyond useless and tried to sugar coat the issue by passing the blame to a third party vendor. After blaming the vendor who handles your inventory, their company did nothing to rectify the issue other than simply reimburse us our money. Now we are left high and dry with no home office for several more weeks, and will either have to completely redesign our office or spend endless hours trying to find the perfect desk yet again. I absolutely will never use their company again, and will be certain to persuade others to not do so as well!!!!!!"
"I have an account i can see online all my orders for the past 5 years - when I finally have. Claim on the $3100 couch i bought 3 years into a 5 year plan they cant see my account and say i have to talk to overstock but overstock wont talk to anyone now because of covid. Go to hell OVERSTOCK "

5/5 credit card was charged and item shipped. Received email same day saying item out of stock did I want to wait or refund. I opted to wait.
5/11 cabinet on its way, 5/12 showed item received it was brooklyn,ny I live in NC
can't call, email or chat with overstock. have done all and no response from them. "Customer care service" that's oxymoron to the max.
5/13 filed complaint with BBB and my credit card company.
To date no contact from overstock. what a shoddy company I will never order from them again. BTW their emoji is showing "great story""
"I ordered a chair cushion that turned out to be very bulky and even though the dimensions were correct, it was too bulky for chair. They charged n $18 to return it. That is almost half of what I paid for the chair pad. Never will I buy from overstock again "
"Ordered a queen bed labeled “queen bed with optional drawers” which was represented by a queen bed. What I received was two drawers and no bed. Called Overstock as was told they aren’t taking phone calls at this fine and to text or email. Sent both a text and email and received no response. Decided to process a return as I have no use for two huge drawers with no bed. Now Overstock is charging me $40 to return the drawers. Will never purchase from here again. "

"Be warned do not buy from this company. I ordered wall arches for my living room. I never received any shipping info a week after ordering. Contacted customer service numerous times they we're unable to tell me the status of my order. All they do is give you the run around, never a direct answer. The website doesn't update you at all to tell you when your item is shipping not does customer service know. 10 days after I placed my order it shipped. To me that's unacceptable. I told them to cancel the order, again I was sent a run around email telling me they couldn't cancel it. Why can't it be cancelled if it hadn't shipped yet? I finally get my order, and instead of the brown arches I ordered they sent me blue. Contacted customer service yet again. They said either ship it back for a refund or ship it back to get replaced. I live alone and am disabled I am not able to physically get it back to a shipping carrier. I asked for a small refund as part of compensation because they did in fact send me the wrong color. They offered to refund me $5 back. Lol what a joke and disgusting company. I will never order from this joke of a company again"
"I have never reported a business on this site before but I purchased a couple of items OVERSTOCK.com on what was supposed to be 0% financing for 3 years. I didn't pay close attention to the first couple of bills but I noticed my owed total was not coming down much. As I looked closer I realized they were charging me a whopping amount of interest. When I attempted to correct the issue they basically said they did an investigation and I did not have the financing and refused to give me any details. I would have NEVER purchased on anything without their store financing without the 0% because I had the money and other legit interest free options. Avoid purchasing for this store at least on their financing, I did receive the merchandise but judging from the number of complaints it appears many others were not so lucky. I will never use there store again. "
"Ordered a large Bar Sideboard on October 31, 2019. Received no notifications of shipping and had to inquire of customer service. Notified 15 minutes later it shipped. I was emailed that it would arrive by November 13, 2019. Received a voicemail message from a shipper. Returned the call multiple times with no response. Called their logistics company CEVA, but no answer. Contacted customer service on Nov. 14th to find out status of shipment. Customer Service informed me that they do not have a dedicated department to handle over-sized items-then why do they sell them. I was informed by Customer Service that they would contact me within 1-2 days to let me know the status of the order. My suggestion to anyone ordering furnishings from Overstock is DO NOT DO IT!. Save yourself the time and trouble and deal with a more reputable and responsive company. Overstock.com has over 600 BBB complaints! i regret not checking their complaints."
"Beware. Ordered an item that showed a stock of three for several weeks while I followed the price. The next day my order was cancelled. I chatted with customer service and was told that they ran out of stock temporarily but that three items were in stock now so I should go ahead and reorder. The next day my order was cancelled again. I chatted with customer service again and all I got was preformulated mumbo jumbo. Everything at overstock.com is severely overpriced and everything that seems to be a deal doesn't exist and is just there to lure you in. All you get is frustration. Total waste of time. Avoid like the plague."
"I ordered a product that was not as described on the website. The product says blackout curtain in its title and description, but it is not a blackout curtain. As the fault is theirs, it seems like it should have free return shipping, bud sadly, I still have to pay return shipping. I'm giving two stars instead of one since the original order process was smooth and delivery was fast."
"I bought a pair of diamond earrings. Total charge 895.13. Unfortunately I did not realize they would send such cloudy stones full of trash. They were diamonds, but had no resembling to the sparkling diamonds one imagines. When they arrived I was disabled due to and accident and did not even open the package for several weeks. When I opened the package, I found earrings that bore absolute no resemblance to the sparkling diamonds I had anticipated. They were 1 and 1/4 ct of rocks. When I requested a return, I was told that I had had them too long. Did they think they wore out in a month. They were the same poor quality that they were when shipped. I have been ripped off in my 85 years, but never by a company that presents itself as respectable. Beware of buying unseen from Overstock.com

I have a Club O Membership which offers free returns. I recently purchased an item on the Overstock website that listed as a “marketplace Seller”. I was able to use my Club O reward dollars on the purchase as well as earning Club O points in the purchase. It was shipped for free per the terms of my Club O Membership. But when I went to return the item, I was told that I would be charged a 50% restocking fee as well as the shopping cost. After 3 hours and 4 customer service agents I was told that due to being a 3rd party vendor my membership doesn’t apply so no free return for me! What?? My membership applied to every other aspect of the purchase and there is absolutely NO disclaimer stating that Club O Memberships are not valid on Marketplace vendors purchases. When I spoke to Curtis, Dominique, Donna and Naomi, I was also told that “you should have known” and “your points are absolutely not applied (which they were” and “ nothing we can do”. I asked all of them to pointt out any terms and conditions that listed this caveat to the membership and not one of them could direct me to it. Then it was back to “you should have known”. I truly believe that this is a bait and switch and I am wondering if there is a class action out there because certainly it is affecting others. I have filed with the Attorney General as well. Overstock.com’s customer service truly lags behind the industry standard. When I mentioned to one of the agents that my Amazon Prime membership covers outside vendors they stated “we're not Amazon”. I can attest to that. Save yourself the trouble and go with another company. These guys are truly substandard."
