"Purchased a hair product item only. But was shipped [along with the item I actually ordered] a vase that was not in my cart when I ordered hair product. Wanted to return the vase was told I'd have to pay shipping of $16 to return item I never ordered!! As part of their "friendly customer service" I was offered a free return if I became a member of "Club O" for $19 /year [how ludicrous]. How's that for a bait and switch routine! After "chatting" with CS, they finally "discounted" the ship fee by 50% and told me to take return to nearest UPS store which is 35 miles away. Customer service [oxymoron alert] then offered to arrange a UPS pickup for an additional $25.26! Again out of their great concern for my satisfaction they reduced the UPS charge by half! The whole ordeal took up 45 mins of my time "dickering" with their customer service just to return an item that I didn't order!! Finally, after advising CS that I would be visiting this and all other similar sites, they arranged UPS pickup at no charge! But I'm still charged $6.32 for the return which in turn will cost them a lot more as I will not be visiting OS ever again. Their business plan obviously includes some very shady practices. Just a heads up to anyone thinking of buying from OS.com!"
"I have been ordering through overstock since last 2018 and have enjoyed their service for two reasons: My items arrived safely and without damage, second, they prompt you when your order has been placed and when it is being shipped out. Last March 28 at 11:05am PT, I ordered an item. I reached out to customer service on the same day at 12:14PMPT. He/She said she/ he will try to stop the shipment and that someone will reach out to me after 1-2 business days. On March 29, at 6:09amPT, I received a message saying the item has been shipped. From the time I made a request, no one reached out to me for any follow throughs. On the same day at 6: 23am PT or 14 mins later, I reached out to customer service again and told them I cancelled the item. I also sent the photos of text history to the representative. The representative apologized and said he/she sent an email requesting to contact UPS to cancel the delivery of the item. April 3 at 5:05pmPT, I received a message that items were delivered. It is so disappointing how there were no follow through or updates and I get charged $50+ to return the item. It's not rocket science to be in a customer service position and not be able to efficiently handle an issue from start to finish. They were satisfied with the fact that they were able to make the request and not care what goes on after. Not even a courtesy message or call to let me know that the warehouse or UPS cannot do anything about the cancellation of shipment and delivery."
"Let me rate my experience with Overstock as the worst ever. I wold rate the product if it was to ever arrive. Five weeks and nothing! My first time using Overstock and my last. Hands down worst online ordering experience I’ve ever had. I’ve asked to cancel the order and was told me it was too late (yes Overstock, it’s all too late!). Stick with Amazon, Wayfair or any other online ordering site but stay away from this one! "
"Overstock is by far the worst company to do business with. Let’s start by saying I purchased a couch with warranty about 6-7 months ago. In September, my couch was breaking down the cushion started sinking in one corner, a spring start popping out of the seat, the leather stitching was becoming unthreaded. I contacted the guardsman warranty as the warranty was a 5 year warranty. Sent in the pictures required and the paper work I had to mail in, I received a reply from the warranty saying on the damages I was experiencing is not covered when it clearly states springs popping out, torn leather, and so on was covered. After several trials and denials I contacted over stock to see what my solution would be. I must say overstock is not better than the warranty company they partner with. The representative apologized and said let me go ahead and refund the money you paid for the warranty as they were not able to assist you. She then went on to tell me she will have a customer service representative reach out to me. The CSR did reach out to me via email and stated their was nothing that can be done as a manufacture warranty was not purchased, mind you their was never a manufacture warranty offered at the time of purchase! And then she said and I see that you asked for the warranty to be refunded, which her representative refunded on her own and I never asked for it be refunded. So basically I’m stuck with a $700 couch that my toddler can not sit on because he’s getting hurt by springs poking out! A couch that is of no use to me and no one can clearly come to repair. A company like this should be banned from selling any items as they are only selling poor quality merchandise and the warranty offers no help so basically your giving away your money by purchasing here! "
"We ordered queen size bed sheets on Dec 17 with a promised delivery date of Dec 22. Shipment lost in transit and Overstock is dragging feet on resolution.
The original shipment label was found to be illegible in-transit and a re-printed label caused it to reverse direction and head back to NY (after already having been in Massachusetts). The shipment has been handed off from FedEx to USPS (supposedly the local post office) and is still (3 weeks later) lost in USPS in Brooklyn NY. I've repeatedly asked Overstock to cancel the lost shipment but they will not cooperate. They want to wait until it's delivered before refunding any money -- and no one knows when that'll be."
"Ordered a brother SM1704 for my daughter for Christmas. And they canceled my order because of "wrong pricing" on their part. I even messaged them 3 days after placing my order and they insured me that they were preparing it for shipment when that was obviously a lie. It's been 5 days since they canceled it and I still havent got my refund. Even if I wanted to order another one I wouldn't get it in time for Christmas. I'll never order a thing from these people again! Thanks for ruining my child Christmas. "
"Ordered an item (quantity 3) on Cyber Monday. Received confirmation that warehouse processed the order. Next day I received notification that order was cancelled because the item was out of stock. Funny, the item is in stock per the website, and a customer service rep that texted me. However, they WOULD NOT HONOR THE PRICE FROM MY ORIGINAL ORDER. Pathetic business practice. I will never shop Overstock again."

"I ordered a grey comforter and was shipped an ivory one. When I explained to customer "care" they pretty much told me I was lying and that I had ordered the ivory one and, if I wanted the grey, I should sell the ivory one then re-order the grey. The other option was for me to pay to return the comforter (and hope it would be received by them) for my money back. Then I could re-order.
Last time I will be buying from them or referring anyone to Overpriced, I mean, Overstock."
"I recently moved (probably common for a lot of overstock.com customers). My first shipment was scheduled to be delivered on the Friday of the weekend we were moving. That date was fine but for some reason, it got changed to Monday instead. As we were no longer going to be at that address, I gave them my new address to send the shipment to instead. However, because it was already in transit, they couldn't change it. Now, 3 weeks later they are sending me something at the old address again!!!!! They will not accept any kind of responsibility. They will blame the customer over and over again. No matter what, it is never their responsibilty! So if you are looking at another site with a similar product, I would definitely advise to stay away from Overstock.com or be prepared for something to go wrong because it will!!!"
"I ordered a sectional from overstock and got the wrong item and when it came time for a refund they decided to charge $161 for return shipping when they sent the wrong item. "I used to shop O quite a bit, then I had a few less than optimal experiences...returns are neither easy nor cheap and the products had gotten a bit hit-or-miss.
Recently I went to their website again and made a number of purchases, and I was quite happy with most of what I ordered, but received some drapes that are NOT what was pictured...not slightly off, just really not the same colors at all. I WILL be returning them. I was reviewing their return policy and on a whim, looked through my old orders and reviews. I found a review from 2013 that was "denied" as being "inappropriate"! I actually did a "Live Chat" to find out what on earth they thought was inappropriate. There was certainly no offensive language, nothing derogatory...I simply said the item arrived damaged and I hadn't yet decided whether it was damaged enough to return. I said the box appeared to have been flattened and then taped back together around the item which explained the damage. The Live Chat agent referred me to their Policy which was useless. I am offended by their judgement and by the waste of my time. I will not shop with them again and I would advise anyone looking to purchase anything of any size to be very cautious"
"This is a horrible company. I purchased a 12x15 rug from Overstock having this membership in hopes that they would stand by their claim of worry free returns, but the exact opposite has occurred. They first sent me a rug that was quite obviously printed crooked and has made it an ever loving nightmare ever since. I have called them 11 straight days since the day this rug arrived, crooked, and have been told there is nothing they can do for me until I go out and BUY packaging for a 12 x 15 foot rug and repackage this 150 lb rug to acceptable standards for UPS to pick up. Then, while I'm recovering from a back injury sustained from packaging a 150 lb 12 x 15 foot rug, I can wait for it to arrive back in their warehouse for processing and THEN I can wait for them to process my refund. From start to finish I'm looking at an over month long ordeal (if I'm lucky) with countless hours wasted on the phone just to get my money back from something that should have been delivered correctly the FIRST time, when I gave Overstock my hard earned money. This company has set me in a perpetual nightmare that doesn't seem to have an end. I have been told so many stories yet here I sit over 20 days after turning over my money with a monstrous rug in the middle of my hallway awaiting someone to PLEASE pick this thing up b/c Overstock refuses to give me my money back with out a good.....long.......torture, all the while they sit with an acquired interest free loan compliments of my stupidity. Horrible doesn't even begin to describe my distain for this company. "
