"The appeal obviously worked for me as even though I am a regular monthly (modest) donor on a very limited income, I chose to add this little extra due to this appeal. Not sure what grabbed me; think it is because I trust Oxfam's work and administration. I would possibly have been more forthcoming if I had been assured that the money would go to a certain project, e.g., "emergency relief for the Phillipines" or "Xmas baskets for Appalacia" or rather than "general administrative expenses." Although I understand that is how non-profits prefer to receive donations, I feel my monthly donation covers that but would be prompted to give extra to help in a current crises."
