"I’ve ordered a pair of Pearl Izumi Therma Fleece bibs form performancebike.com. Today comes the package and get this, the box is empty! No bibs, but a whole lot of advertisements and a Performance catalog. I called them up and got the answer that they don’t even have them in stock+don't know when will. They also don’t understand how that could happen. I asked for a full refund and now waiting for their letter that I have to sign in order to get my refund. The sad part is they still have them available in stock on line and in their catalog they send me in an empty box. I wonder how many more people will receive empty boxes or some other unwanted product.... They simply wasted my time, and now I can either order again from a different store and wait until temps drop in to 30’s or overpay 50 bucks for the same bibs in my local store.

"Got to say I love shopping with Performance. I have placed 10 or so orders totaling about $1200 in the last 3 months from them to properly outfit myself for all types of road bikeing (commuting and winter riding as well as normal) and only once has there been an issue with an order, which Performance CS quickly corrected. Couldn't really be happier."

"This is my first and last experience with performance bike. The orignal order was placed on august 13 2004. After a week, check up on my order, and they had lost my order. So i re-submitted my order, which gets processed and sent. On the second of sept, credit card statement shows a credit from performance bike less US$20. We try to contact performance bike through email, regarding the credit less US$20, and we don't get any reply. I phone performance bike on september 7 2004, regarding the CC matter, and they tell me that I had returned the goods. I asked them why I would return something I had not recieved. It turned out they had forgoten to put what country the goods being sent to on the parcel. At this time I was annoyed, but I still wanted the items they were selling, so yeat again I re-submitted the order.
On september 11, I was emailed by performance bike and asked how i'd like the items sent. I emailed back straight away stating what freight service I wanted. Still the order had not been processed. I emailed performance bike on the 14th of september asking why my order had not been processed, i'm still waiting for an answer to that email. This morning(9/15/04) I made yeat again another international toll call regarding my order, the answer they gave was sorry we will process it straight away. Well you won't believe this, according to performance bikes web site, the items are yeat to be processed. 9/18/04 I had reached the last straw, I phoned head office and told them what was going on. 30 minutes later performance bike phoned to say the goods had finally been sent. Now i'm waiting for USPS to deliver them.

Just a final note to anyone who works in a service type industry "customers are what keep you employed, so without customers you won't have a job!"

"Basically told me to take my business elsewhere. I placed an order for a crankset that was shown in stock, and 2 days later received an e-mail saying "Item is no longer available. We have cancelled your order. Thank you". In a real store, this would have been like saying "We don't have that anymore, even though we just said we did. You can leave now". I will NOT be shopping there again, and I would dissuade anyone else from doing so. What a waste of mailbox space getting their catalogs and bandwidth reading their site. "

"Order was placed online on a Sunday by credit card. There delivery policy is to have it delivered within 10 days. I called them twice to check on the order. The first time they wouldn't or couldn't tell me if it was shipped. The second time I called 12 days after the order, I was told it was shipped on the 19th. And then it took 8 days to get to northern Iowa. I had one item on back order and have yet to recieve it. Their communication is very poor in my opinion. I probably won't order from them again."

"Overall, Performance Bike is a great place to buy bike stuff, but they do have their share of problems. Normal prices are ok, but using a combination of a Team Performance membership, price matching and their frequent 20% off coupons awesome deals can be had. Unfortunately, they seem to have some problems with their computer systems. About 1 out of every 5 orders I place isn't charged right. I don't think they are doing this on purpose, but who knows... They are always very quick to correct whatever mistakes they make, usually by the day after I send them an email. The deals I get are enough to keep me coming back, despite the problems."

"I bought a Pedro's 2002 large repair kit, some Panaracer XC Pro tires, and performance tubes. I recently heard bad things about this store from a mountain bike forum, but I didn't have a single problem. I spent an extra $3 and get everything delivered 2nd Air. Ordered over the phone, got my confirmation and it was delivered as promised. I was a little worried because I couldn't check the status of my order online even though they have the option. Nevertheless, this company came through for me. Everything was stuffed in a box, and not all that pretty, but it's bicycle stuff. What do you expect. I'm quite pleased with the results."

"Performance bike rocks! Everything I've encountered about this merchant is above average. The website is great, clear logical product layout, GREAT prices especially if items are on sale. Huge selection of products, they have a 10% off buyer's club too. The order process goes smoothly, with orders always being shipped the next business day. No stupid shipping delays here. Performance bike has got its act together. Many other so-called established estores need to do an internship here.
