"It was my first and my last order with PetMountain. PetMountain is definitely a price leader; but, when comes to customer service and return policy - they are the worst.
I bought over $75 to take advantage of free shipping on mid-Nov 2014. I bought (qty 3) of mini-pellet Hikari Cichlid Gold Complete & Balanced Color and (qty 2) of baby-pellet Hikari Cichlid Gold Complete & Balanced Color. After a long holidays - I've started to open up my first package of baby-pellet. My flowerhorn was not used to the baby-pellet and I have contacted PetMountain for an exchange from baby-pellet to mini-pellet. Customer service was given a tough time of returning and stated that open package are non-refundable and exchange; and furthermore, it has past the 60 days return policy.
Finally, customer service manager had called and told me they will process a refund. I don't need a refund. I need to exchange to mini-pellet. I was told that Petmountain can't process exchange. They can only process refund. The cost of sending back was $7.50 USPS and total refund was less than $11.00. This is becoming to be non-sense. I have decided to kept the 2 packages.
Meanwhile, I have purchased a heater from Petsmart. It has failed after 105 days. Went back to the store and they were gladly to exchange/replace another one... Petsmart, thank you for a great service!
Next time, buy a little bit higher price and received a superior service in petco or petsmart! "
