"I found out about this company from a laptop magazine, checked them out because their deals seemed too good to be true and was then amazed by not only their prices but their service and excellent laptop (the sager 5620 ultra) Where else can you get a pentium 4 2.4 ghz, 512 mb ram, 40 gigs and a dvd/cdrw drive for under 2500? the quality is very nice and the screen is a crisp 15 inch sxga+ TFT display which is awesome for gaming ang movie watching. This has got to be the biggest secret in the laptop industry. I guess if the word was out, the major companies would have lower their prices to these standards and offer the latest hardware constantly ;-) I see people arguing about their dells and gateways and I feel sorry that they were not told about these guys.. their loss. I like the complementary carrying bad and AC adapter. Comes with a 1 year warrenty too so its right up with those big companies in that respect.. except you gotta ship the computer back to california to get it fixed but its worth it."

Order turn-around is fast, and should a problem arise, Powernotebooks will be there for you. If you really want to know how good a company is, examine carefully how they work when things do not go as planned.
I order a fair amount of hardware every year (around 15 - 30K USD). I build a large number of machines, and suggest places for people to go for their hardware. Only a few of the boxes are for work, only a few are for me. I do a large amount of pro-bono tech consulting and hardware trouble shooting. I expect to have problems with some of my orders. Probability and statistics have to catch up to you some day. Your only salvation when this day comes is the level of commitment a reseller has toward customer service/support.
I ordered a $2,800 laptop from powernotebooks.com. I requested Next Day Air; I wanted the laptop for a business meeting with a paying client in Dayton, OH that weekend. I saw that Powernotebooks uses UPS, and I was slightly concerned... UPS is pretty notorious amongst my friends for shipping damaged packaging... but the stuff usually gets there. Not this time! UPS fell flat on their faces and were not good people. Powernotebooks.com saved my sanity and proved to have dedication, perseverence, and concern well beyond the call of duty.
UPS misdelivered the $2,800 laptop -- my company paid $80+ shipping for Next Day Air -- to the UAW/GM worker's union a quarter mile down the street. Yes, to answer your question, the package was addressed CORRECTLY. UPS would not admit that they had misdelivered the package until Saturday morning (it was supposed to arrive on Friday). UPS was very obstinate, largely unhelpful and acted like I was attempting to defraud them (this should not be the default attitude toward a customer). I rarely make requests of companies at all, and the requests I do make are fairly simple. "What address did you deliver my package to," should not be a difficult question for a shipping company to answer. If I pay you $80 to ship a package, I expect at least a modicum of service and respect. I think I should expect good service. I should not be given the run around on the phone; I should not be told: 'we delivered it to you, someone signed for it' when the package has been delivered to a location, owned by someone else, a quarter mile away . Had I known the location of the computer on Friday, I could have driven to the UAW office and retrieved my machine. However, UPS was too busy being a bunch of lazy lay-abouts to pound pavement, make phone calls, and help out
Charlotte and Donald at Powernotebooks.com are the only reason I ever got my machine. They worked all day and into the night calling different UPS numbers -- the local Hub would not help us, the national number _eventually_ found the package for powernotebooks.com. I can only guess the national hotline finally helped because they did not know to plead ignorance. Powernotebooks.com is a great company full of great people. The computer is AWESOME!! It is faster than the horses that draw Apollo's chariot, and cost less than I would have paid anywhere else. I spent an extra $100 to get a 3yr parts and labour warranty, and it's still less than I would have paid anywhere else. Powernotebooks is great, and they are the only company that ships via UPS I will ever order from again. For everything else, I'm only ordering from companies that use FedEx or good ole USPS. Both shippers always get packages to me undamaged and on time.
If you want icing on the cake: UPS had delivered the Auto/Airplane power adapter for my machine earlier in the day on Friday. I asked the UPS driver if the 1 lb box was the only package. I said that I was expecting more. He said 'nope, that's the only one.'
