"Ok, so I decided to lay in my inflated floating pond raft as my wife videoed me. I was in the pond for at least 3 minutes before my wife was speechless looking at my iPhone4s laying at the bottom of the pond. Great! I had just replaced my phone a few months back (another story). After 24 hours of the shaking/sucking the water out, dunking in vat of rubbing alcohol, and placing in bag of rice overnight, the screen was still freaking out. Both ATT and Apple said $750 for a new phone. Before forking out the $$, I looked on line to find a few repair places where you mail it in for repair, but then a couple blogs said it's much better to find a local repair place, and so I found the PowerbookMedic.com. They said FREE diagnostics, so I thought couldn't hurt! I took it over at noon, and they had my phone repaired 4 HOURS LATER for $80 BUCKS! It's been over a month with no glitches (because I think the alcohol kept the logic board from shorting - only the display needed replacing). These peeps are great! Thanks again guys!"

"My overall experience with Powerbookmedic.com was super! I did have a few hiccups but nothing that the staff would not help me with.

So, my wife dropped her month old, uninsured iPad 3 on its corner and cracked the digitizer. After snooping around, I found their site and they had everything I needed. The prices are a bit higher than I wanted to spend but then again, you get what you pay for, it beat buying a new 32 Gig iPad 3, and I wanted everything ASAP and shipped from the US.

Shipping was lightening quick- it only took two days to get everything to me (YMMV). The powerbookmedic.com YouTube video helped me out a lot but like so many of the videos, they showed a removal of a non destroyed screen. My screen removal and clean up took about three long hours. The upper left corner of the case was a bit crushed in but after speaking with Eric he said they just fix it with a few tools if possible to save on replacing the case. I did the same thing, sanded the rough areas to make it pretty, and unless you were looking at it and you knew where to look, you'd never see it. Thanks Eric.

After that, I was ready for the digitizer. Unfortunately for me, they had switched distributors and this newer digitizer did not come with adhesive. I called them and they offered to send me the adhesive- no cost. That shipping was lightning fast as well. After I received the adhesive, I was ready. It took about 30 minutes to place the sticky adhesive strips and while they were not an exact cut for the iPad 3, I did not modify them at all. There were some hanging tabs and such, but I used them as extra holding power and the extra adhesive did not interfere with the LCD or the digitizer.

Well, the iPad powered on, I thought everything was fixed but as I am pressing icons, I notice that the lower right corner apps were inactive. ARGH! I called Powerbookmedic.com again, they suspected it might be a bad digitizer so they sent me a new one with adhesive- the same day!

Again, speedy shipping and today I got the replacement parts. Everything went together so much quicker and easier the second time, and this time, I had success! A fully functional like new iPad.

Overall, I will recommend Powerbookmedic.com to anyone needing iStuff repairs. I was frustrating waiting for the items to get to me, but still not as frustrating as how my wife came to drop this thing in the first place, so it wasn't so bad.

The staff is top notch, the repair personnel Zac[k] and Eric were very helpful and when I described that I wanted to fix it myself, they still answered all of my questions. Next time though, I will send it to them to fix for a small fee. The sales staff was also helpful, unfortunately I cannot remember their names; I'm sorry about that but you're great anyway!

The cons:
I wished the adhesive would have been shipped with the first digitizer; in the end though, it only set the repair back two days.
The first digitizer I got was faulty- but this is not really a con: stuff happens. They handled it efficiently and it was nothing more than a few days until the iPad was fully functional.
The YouTube video made this operation seem so much easier than it was. The next one, I wanna' see broken glass, hear cussing, see household animals cowering in corners as they sense your frustration! Ok, not really about the animals but it would be neat to see how they deal with the ugly removal of a damaged digitizer. "
