"primo cameras had the best price on a canon lens i was looking for. I placed the order online and got a call to verify my information and my lens was in my hands 4 days later."
"Excellent Staff, Very friendly, Prompt service. Recieved camera in a very timley manner. Will you site again. "
"Here is a copy of a letter I sent reguarding my purchase.
I purchased a Canon EOS Rebel XS online Tuesday, July 28th. A representative from Primo called on Friday, July 31st to confirm my order. After confirming my order he informed me of a special coupon offered at the time of purchase to buy at rapid charger and a extended life battery. I declined the offer 2 times and agreed after the third time. I thought I was purchasing an additional battery and charger and would still receive the original battery and charger that came with the camera. I was also told that since I was a first time customer the memory card would be upgraded from 2 GB to 4 GB. He also tried to add on additional charges for insurance and handling that were not included when I checked out online. With the high pressure sales and this I immediately felt uncomfortable with Primo Cameras. I was also told that the battery and charger were $75 with the coupon. However the
price of my order went from $509.99 to $589.99. That is $80 not the $75 I was told.
Upon receiving my camera I found only the 2 GB memory card and only the battery and charger that came with the camera. I quickly called customer service and spoke with Michael on August 7th at approximately 12:00 p.m. He agreed to send another 2 GB memory card. He also explained that the battery and charger were not in addition, but that it was an upgraded kit. That I had in fact received the 30 minute charger and extended life battery. I explained that was not my understanding from the representative I spoke with on 7/31/09. He told me the model number and specification on the battery I had received and then told me the specification on the battery that came with the original kit. I had no way to prove or disprove him. He assured me that I did receive a "30 minute" charger. However, I am reading my manual for the Canon EOS Rebel XS Eos 1000D and on page24 it states "It takes about 2 hours to fully recharge a completely exhausted
battery." So it sounds like I received a 2 hour charger not the 30 minute charger I was promised.
I am extremely dissatisfied with my order from Primocameras.com. First I like to take care of my orders online not over the phone. Second I do not like being pressured into a buy. Perhaps it is a good deal and perhaps I would have regretted it later if I did not purchase the "30 minute charger" and extended life battery." However now I am upset with Primo Cameras for pressure me into a sale and then not even supply what was promised. Third, I feel that the additional charges for insurance and handling were extremely deceptive. No where were those charges stated when I checkout online. My understanding is that the Total listed is the complete Total and no additional charges apply. Victor did agree to remove the charges for insurance and handling, however the very fact that the representative tried to sneak (he didn't state the additional charges, just stated the total) them in is appalling and makes me suspicious of Primo Cameras.
Fourth I feel like the representative I spoke to on 7/31/09 lied to me. He stated the battery and charger were $75. Why was I charged $80? Fifth, the representative I spoke to today clearly stated that I had received a "30 minute" charger and the manual clearly states that it takes 2 hours to charge a battery.
They chose to respond to this letter with a phone call when I specifically said I perfer to do business online. The oder was sent by PhotoLoon so I would avoid PhotoLoon too.
Update: I spoke to Kevin from Customer Service on Aug. 18th. He said they would ship me the 2 GB memory card and the high speed charger. I was told the memory card would be shipped out right away when I spoke to Michael on Aug. 7th. So I guess 11 days is right away to them. Also Kevin asked a couple of times for me to edit my review here. I have not yet received what they have promised (again) to send me. If I do infact receive the memory card and charger I will have received what I ordered. Although there is still some uncertainity in my mind as to what I did order. The problem comes in the order that I added over the phone. I still thought I was ordering something else. I also don't understand why this company can't respond to my e-mail with and e-mail, but must always call me and interupt my activities. Perhaps they know if it is in black and white and there is no pushy salesman most people will not order more.
Bottom line: Should receive what I ordered, but would not buy from them again."
"WOW! Could it get any worse. I ordered this camera, Nikon D700, on the 20th of July and still don't know when they will ship if ever. I had to call after 2 days before they would process my order. I was ask to purchase a warranty, extended life battery, and flash memory along with other stuff. I said I only wanted the camera and was told it would be shipped at the end of the week. The following week didn't go much better. I was told that the camera would be dropped shipped from overseas and that it would take another week. So here it is the 6th of August and so I called again. This time I'm told that there is a problem with the D5000 and that Nikon is holding up shipment of the D700 also because of a similar problem. They suggested I purchase the camera from another store and that I can cancel my order or I could wait. Well obviously I want the camera for $2,149.00 which was the price on their website and is the price printed on my order and, I don't know of another store selling the camera for that amount. I guess those negative reviews are all correct and the store is not legit. DONT BUY FROM THIS STORE (even if they will actually sell you the camera). I'm still waiting to see what happens! "
"I had to cancel my order due to unforeseen circumstances and the sales rep was very helpful and friendly. I didn't actually get a product but the staff was very willing to help me with my predicament. "
"I would tell everyone to shop at Primo Cameras, Best deals NO BULL you get what they say you will.J Z "
"James was very sincere in telling me about the price of the Canon 5D. Even after the ridiculous insurance cost, Primo was a better value. I was happy to get someone as knowledgeable as James to help me with my order.
I have no problem rating him at 5 start."
"I purchased a new 28-135 lens for my Cannon 30D, after my 28-70 lens died of old age. I did some price comparisons online, and was cautiously optomistic as I made the order because the Primo Cameras price was so much lower. Happily, there was no "catch". The lens arrived just as advertised and works beautifully. with the money I saved, I was able to buy a nice filter too! I will definately seek out Primo Cameras for future purchases!"
"ZERO STARS!!!! These people are scam artists. Classic bait and switch. They have you order the camera online then call you to add additional accessories (hard sell). If you say no they try to charge a 5% (supposed insurance fee for shipping), which adds up to and extra $110 for the nikon camera I ordered. If you say no they tell you that they cannot sell the product to you. This is fraud. The website has no information regarding this - infact the final recipt that I printed after the completion of the web transaction does not reflect this at all. Since they cannot change the official transaction they cancel your web transaction and submit a second transaction. VERY DISHONEST!!! "
"This place is a joke. I am still not sure if they are photoloon or Primo Cameras but aside from saving a couple dollars. there is no reason to deal with the aggravation. I called up to purchase a D90 kit with a 18-55 lens for $1054 and a 55-200 lens for $219. The total with no tax and free shipping was $1273. I begrudgingly agreed to buy 2 UV filters for $28 each, bringing the total $1329. After being placed on hold, I overhear the sales rep yell out to someone, "I am still in the hole even after selling him UV filters." The sales rep then returns to the line after about five minutes and quotes me a total of $1367 because of an "insurance fee." I tell him that it sounds ridiculous and to cancel my order. Five minutes later my phone rings and the rep calls back offering to waive the fee. I accept and agree to pay $1330 for the aforementioned items. Three days later I had not received an order confirmation. I called and they "re-sent" me an order confirmation with an error in the address and with only 1 UV filter listed. I emailed them back asking them to correct the order. I received no response and when the package finally arrived there was only 1 UV filter. These guys are upsellers and clowns. You are much better off paying the extra money and staying away!"
"Got a very Good Deal On the Nikon D90 Camera I ordered and Bruce, the associate was very helpful,
thanx "
"My salesman, James Carter, was an excellent guide to my purchase. He helped with answering my questions before the purchase as I needed to find out if some of my equipment was suitable for th purchase of a new camera. He also helped my with some extra gear that would be helpful to me. In all, he made the purchase easy and comfortable."
"Having never heard of Primo Cameras before, I was reluctant to purchase from them. However, since they had a price on a Nikon D90 camera package that was hundreds of dollars less than the other stores I was considering, I took my chances. And I'm glad I did, because I am extremely happy with everything. On top of that, I received my shipment in time for my wife's birthday, thanks to Primo rushing the order out to me.
I would definitely purchase from Primo Cameras again. Thanks!"
