"I have recently made a purchase at probikekit.com and couldn't be any happier. Based on the 1 star reviews, I was at first very skeptical but I decided to order from probikekit nonetheless since it offered the lowest price and free international shipping as well. This seller is based in UK so international shipping can take a while but this is mostly caused by items being held in customs for some indeterminate amount of time.

As for me, I placed an order for two continental gatorskin 700cx25 tires and tire levers from ProBikeKit on 09/06/13 (Friday). I got my order receipt, account creation notice, and shipping dispatch notice within hours. My items arrived to a UK export facility on 09/09/13 and arrived on 09/18/13. To my pleasant surprise, the shipping box included the promotional 750 ml drink bottle from ProBikeKit and a few samples of complimentary energy and sports drink. The continental tires that I ordered were also made from Germany (not from China as you would normally get if you ordered from Amazon.com and has many bad reps).

If you are very unlucky, it seems that the items can get stuck in US customs for some time (24 days +) but otherwise (most of the time) you get your items shipped within 1-2 weeks. This is pretty reasonable for free international shipping.

If you are not in a hurry to get the items and don't mind the little bit of delays... probikekit is definitely the best bang for your bucks. I would definitely order from PBK again!

Last bit of info: If you need to contact PBK, use the "contact us" feature from the website. I got a reply from Nathan within hours.

"Hey Folks,

Last night I read so many negative posts about Probikekit.com that it made me very nervous as I had placed an order on September, 2nd and I saw that the delivery date was to be the 16th....yesterday. The shipment did not come yesterday and that is why I began to look to see how Probikekit.com ships their goods and stumbled upon this site. I emailed them last night and this morning I received an email that said wait a couple of days. That made me even more skeptical as many had said they received a very vague reply. So heres the long and the short..

The package came today by priority mail (USPS), and was all intact and exactly as ordered. The post office noted that the delivery address was difficult for them to read and said I was lucky that they were able to decifer it.

I ordered Shimano durace cl 24 rims, 4 conti tires, and 4 tubes. I also live on the East Coast, USA. Ordered on the 2nd, delivered on the 17th, 30% cheaper than in the US and free shipping.

I will order from Probikekit.com again without hesitation.

Oh, I forgot, there was a 1 day delay because I did not notify my credit card company that I would be ordering something overseas so they initially declined the charge and Probikekit.com sent me an email to let me know.

"Same experience as others. Ordered 2 Continental Grand Prix 4000 tires on August 15, 2013. The website says delivery is usually within 3 to 8 business days. Order confirmation e-mail said delivery would be Sept 5th or earlier. I received an "Order Despatched" e-mail on August 16 with a link to tracking. It showed the order as being processed on the 19th and the "interim distribution point" on the 22nd and that, "We expect delivery within a few days." As of Sept 6th, I still haven't received the order. I tried to contact their customer service online but was notified that I have "no orders to submit a query about." The only phone number is an international one. Not going to waste my money calling it. Contacted American Express to dispute the charge instead. Not sure how the company has such a good reputation on the cycling forum pages. Possibly just employees shilling for this company. "

"I had a bug with their web site after the payment with PayPal. They confirmed that my order was cancelled (never completed)but the PayPal payment is still pending after more than 2 weeks.

They ask me to re-order the item myself with a 20% increase in price. I will go somewhere else...

Very bad customer service.

"Ordered a bike for $1200 NZ. Dispatched 2 days later. Tracked package received yesterday but only front wheel in a box. No other tracked packages indicated on my account. Emailed to ask where the rest of the bike is. No response so rang up. Customer services promised to check with their warehouse and get back to me. Still waiting. Not impressed so far. Will update if/when it's sorted. "

"Do not use ProBikeKit if you are outside the UK or EU - they charge VAT when they are not supposed to - I wonder what they are doing with that VAT as they don't have to send it to HM Revenue and Customs as they wouldn't be expected to be charging VAT when mailing goods outside the UK or EU.
Like similar people I also had a lot of hassles and trouble trying to pay for my goods - they won't accept e-cheques from PayPal and by the time I had sorted payment out two of the three items were then out of stock!

"Ordered items which were dispatched immediately according to the website, after not turning up probikekit advised I needed to wait 30 days before lodging it. Did this, had to sign form to state had checked with neighbours, had not received them, would co-operate with police should this be required, sent back to then get a refund into my account.....asked for items to be sent and was told they were out of stock....yet they are still selling the pedals online but the price is higher now. I genuinely believe that the items were not in stock when I purchased them and they just wanted to hold onto my money for this length of time for the interest.....either that or they are actually daft enough to think after this service I would then purchase the product from them at a higher price??!
Would not use probikekit again and will stick to websites like wiggle even if they are a little bit more.

"This was my first order with Probikekit.com. After reading both the 5 star and 1 star reviews, I had no idea what to expect, but was ready to be disappointed based on the recent 1 star reviews.

Placed order for 2 continental 700x25c tires Tue, Jun 18, 2013 at 5:44 PM. Received email confirmation within one minute.

Received email telling me my account had been created Wed, Jun 19, 2013 at 1:09 AM

Received email welcoming me to probikekit and thanking me for my recent purchase Thu, Jun 20, 2013 at 9:42 AM.

Here's where it gets interesting. I ordered enough to get free shipping to the U.S., but not enough to get tracking with my shipment. When you order standard international (free not tracked) shipping, you are only shown when they shipped it, after that it could be anywhere. That was my choice though and the site clearly said orders less than I believe $200 were not tracked.

Here's what I did see in the way of information regarding my shipment:

Thu 20/06/2013 08:15: Your order has been processed at the UK export facility. It is now on route to the receiver.

Fri 21/06/2013 11:00: Your order has arrived at the interim distribution point for onward relay to the destination country. We expect delivery within a few days but no further tracking information is available.

That's it. Until July 3rd at approximately 1:30 PM when the order was delievered to my door, all the info I had was what you see above. Not a complaint, just pointing out what info is available to those of us who buy enough to get free shipping but not enough to get real tracking.

When my tires arrived they were packed in a tyvek (plastic like fabric) bag lined with bubble wrap. It's pretty difficult to destroy tires, so no box was needed. The tires themselves were packed in retail boxes and were exactly what I ordered. Can't believe they can sell these at such a good price. Ordering online from biketiresdirect.com in the U.S., each tire is $55, with free shipping, comes to $110. My total order through probikekit was $69.58 including shipping.

In addition to the tires there were two coupons, one for a UK grocery store and another for a UK magazine. In addition to the two tires and two coupons, there was also a High5 Sports Nutrition Free Taster Pack. We don't have High5 in the U.S. Our sport drink / electrolyte products are Nuun, Zym and Camelback to name a few. Inside the Free Taster Pack: 4 Zero electrolyte tables individually wrapped (2 citrus, 2 berry), 1 30ml juicy orange energy gel, 1 High5 Energy Source sports fuel carbohydrate drink mix and 1 eleven page High5 guide to their products.

I was surprised to see that my package shipped from Sweden.

I would say that my experience was very positive. Balancing the very good pricing against the lack of tracking and 11 business day delivery, I would order from them again.

While I would order from probikekit again, I would keep in mind that it would most likely take from 2 to 4 weeks for delivery. If I needed something faster than 4 weeks from my order date, I would purchase from my home country of the U.S.

"ProBikeKit are a company to be avoided and not to be trusted. I have used them several times but frankly it is too painful dealing with them. Let me tell you about three of my experiences in the last year:
1) bought some bib shorts from them. When arrived they were normal shorts. I telephoned to be told I'd got what I ordered. They had a picture of bib shorts online associated with the normal shorts product code. Had to argue to get hem to send bib shorts to me.
2) after first experience I then ordered a few times without problem. I then was in the market for a turbo trainer with virtual training. I researched and their price was lowest. I emailed to confirm it came with all virtual training software and they confirmed in writing it did. When it arrived it did not have software, ant+ dongle for pc and had a european power lead not uk. Long arguments with them. In the end they said it was their suppliers fault and I had to speak to them. All told 28 emails, a dozen phone calls and two weeks later I eventually got the software activation code.
3) all well for a while. Last weekend looking for a sportful hot pack no rain stretch jacket. They had offers on sportful and google search showed them the cheapest at £36.00. Placed order and money taken from my account with order confirmation received by email. Next day email received confirming order cancelled and account refunded. When I telephoned to ask why was told they were out of stock and did not know when more coming in. On their website they now advertise at £108.00 and when I call am told they have them in stock. I then complain and am told I have no contract as I hadn't paid. I point out I had and sent proof. They then agreed I had paid but said they would not honour the order. Next day I received an email informing that they had cancelled orders due to a pricing mistake by them and offering a 15% discount voucher.

"Buyer beware! This company has extremely poor customer service. I ordered from them recently and the item never arrived. They made me wait a month before they would give any kind of response. Then they made me send them an affidavit stating that I hadn't received the item. Finally, after all that, they said I could have a store credit to buy something else. Meanwhile the item I was trying to buy has increased in price on their website by over $20. I believe that they didn't actually ship the item because they are running some kind of bait and switch scam."

"Placed an order and immediately cancelled due to typo on my shipping addess (their address format is wacky due to foreign company and does not give a feedback when the zip code has the incorrect number of digits entered). I immediately cancelled and the website gave me an indication it was cancelled. I made corrections and placed another order. Many hours later, the orders were processed and I was told then that they couldn't cancel my order as it was already sent even though it was an immediate cancellation. LIARS!!! I am being charged for something I will never get. Their customer service rep is not very bright and not helpful. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY even if they have a great deal. NOT WORTH IT as the cost is now very high for my duplicate order."

"Order wheelset and some small items rim tapes, handlebar tapes and handle bar 3/21/2013. The wheelset came 2 weeks later and the rest of the order never arrived. The total order was $240 before the discount $25. They are very smart about the pricing at invoice. All the small items will label $0. So my order with rim tapes and handlebar tapes marked $0 value. when you did not received the rest of your order after 1 month, they will ask you to fill out a disclaimer form. Later they will only refund you instead of shipping the rest of the order!!! That means they do not refund the $25 discount!!! I demanded the rest of my order to be ship but no result!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH PBK. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!
