"I just bought a Pro-Star/Clevo P170EM laptop and I have to tell you it's one of the best laptops I ever bought. I've used multiple laptop brands in the past including HP & Dell. But they don't even come close to Pro-Star. They build a great quality laptop with best hardware. They also have a great customer service, by the way, which was the only thing I was really skeptical of. However after having received the laptop & contacting the customer service I am really amazed at the quality of this laptop & Pro-Star in general. Going forward I'm only buying my laptops from Pro-Star!!!!!"

"I bought a W170HR (discontinued) from Pro-Star last year, and needless to say, it was wonderful! A year later, it is still going strong and I have not yet encountered any bugs. The Geforce 555M works fantastically with every game, allowing me to play on at least high detail with decent framerates (40-60 FPS). The screen is very bright and clear. The colors do not wash considerably when viewing from an angle. Battery life could be better, but it is not bad (about 1 hour heavy gaming, or 3.5 hours basic word processing, YouTube, E-mail, web-surfing). The chassis is very sturdy and is made of hard plastic. Besides the screen (and dedicated graphics button), the laptop is not glossy at all (which is good- no fingerprints, scratches, etc.). The Keyboard has almost no flex and is a joy to type on. It is a great laptop overall, and I would buy it again given the chance.

Pro-Star itself is an amazing company with impeccable customer service. I was guided through buying my computer and was given many notifications on the status of my computer through out the building and shipping process. They respond quickly to messages and inquiries (usually within a day) and I even had the pleasure of speaking to Mr. Yuan to confirm the shipment of my computer. That's right, I got a call from the owner himself. Their value of the customer is extremely high, and their prices can't be beaten. I hope others will benefit from this review and order from them. Pro-Star truly is truly a wonderful company with low prices, high standards, and unsurpassable customer service."

"I was in the market for a new gaming laptop, and after a month of researching specs and prices, I finally pulled the trigger on Pro-Star's Clevo P170EM. While the base price was low, there were two competitors who had the same advertised price, but after adding upgrades/customizations on those sites and comparing, the price with Pro-Star ended up $100 cheaper than the closest competitor, with some totaling over $300 or more. The free shipping was a huge bonus too, and I had found a $60 coupon code which helped. I had a couple questions about some of the upgrades, and called their Sales department, and was pleasantly surprised to find a human on the other end of the line within four rings. No automated messages, no holding, no struggling to understand poor English. They were very knowledgeable and quickly answered all of my technical questions. I placed my order on a Friday and was back on their site Monday playing with laptop builds after looking up my order status and noticed they had reduced the price on the graphics card I had ordered by $50. Called them up and they said they would refund that $50 savings.. I thought that was pretty cool especially since I didn't have to cancel and re-order to get the savings. They had my laptop in UPS' hands the following Wednesday, and two days later it was at my door (California to Oklahoma).. The original guesstimate when I would receive it was around 12-15 days (5-7 days to build it, 5-10 days shipping) so obviously I'm very pleased. I've only had the laptop for a couple days, but so far I absolutely love it. I got the matte screen and it looks far better than I expected, and not a single dead pixel. I've only played one game so far (Tera), and it handles it like a champ and looks spectacular, with every setting maxed out (Ultra) I steadily get 75+ fps. The only thing I'm not just absolutely thrilled about is the speaker's max volume. It's loud enough and it sounds decent, but it doesn't get as loud as I'd want it to if I was playing music and at a distance from the laptop. I plan on getting headphones anyway for gaming/movies. It's certainly not a deal-breaker and not something to complain about, but everything else is so nice I had to find something to nit-pick. I couldn't find many reviews that mentioned the heat of the laptop when gaming, but testing it out I wouldn't have believed it if I had read it.. the large vents in the back blow out warm air (which I can't even hear, by the way), but the laptop itself isn't hot at all, barely even warm above the F keys. I'm using a cooling pad, but the bottom is barely warm as well. I highly recommend buying from Pro-Star, as they now have a lifelong customer of me. Here's the laptop specs I purchased from them:
