"Location is perfect for me, and when I found the people working there very friendly, helpsom and nice I was more than pleased."
"I am at a location in Buffalo, NY off on William St. It was closest to the location that I needed at the time. The property manager Magdalena is wonderful and always seems to be there on property. She even stayed after one evening to help me when I went to make my initial drop off of my things and the garage door broke. She promptly issued me another unit and her helper went and shoveled the entrance to that unit so I could have access to it. I was very impressed with their excellent customer service and how she handled the situation. I was going through a rough time due to the loss of my mother and that was why I needed the unit. She had no way of knowing this, but it was nice to not have to deal with some of the nightmares I have read about at some storage facilities. Thank you for your excellent customer service!"
"Back in 2010 we needed a storage facility and found one in Sylmar. It was called KISS, and the guys there were wonderful. It is a three story setup, with air conditioned spaces. We could use the back entrance and only had to go up one floor. There was a key code for the gate that worked fine, and the people there were always helpful. Our rent was $170 a month and we had two spaces. Then, Public Storage bought out the company. Immediately they raised our rent. We didn't sign a contract with Public Storage, but with the original company. Our budget was set and we could manage our payments. PS then installed an awful new security system. One keypad for entry to the front gate, and another at the elevator. Their "improved" security system is a pain in the a--. It’s hugely inconvenient. You have to type in a code just to use the elevator. If someone is loading on another floor and you’ve already typed in your code, it’s forgotten it by the time the elevator finally gets there, and you have to start all over again. Meanwhile, you’ve got a cart full of crap you’re trying to juggle with one hand.
Yesterday I went over to pull something I needed out of storage, and the keypad was offline. No way to get in the building. It was Saturday, so the staff went home. I called their number, all I got was a recording. This is typical of Public Storage's lousy customer support. So now our month payment has been adjusted to $306 a month. We had to drop one of our spaces since the fee was so high. We're looking for an alternative. But, beware of this company. They rake in the dough and do essentially nothing for you. If you're late a couple days on a payment, they're good at calling you about it. That's the only time you'll ever hear from this company -- when they want your money. If you have a problem, don't expect a call back for hours or days later. I think they deserve the one-star rating. We're basically paying for them to maintain their investment and make a living. I think we deserve a lot more appreciation and respect, but don't count on it."
"Renters Beware
I recently moved to the Portland area (May – 2018)
I got online to find a storage unit for my belongings. I was in luck Public storage @ 2190 NW Burnside Gresham Oregon (503) 489 – 9613 had a 10’x20’ Unit available for $83.00 a month. I called the Manager and she told me the Unit was available, when she asked how long I need the unit I advised her long-term she said she could only guarantee the $83.00 (Advertised online) was available for 12 Months we agreed on this.
When we arrived my friends and family started unloading my unit I went to sign the papers and get the keys. I noticed the lot and Restroom was dirty and cluttered.
When we were completing the paperwork the manager said the computer wouldn’t allow her to complete the paperwork for the advertised price. She said it wanted to charge me 133.00 month I showed her on the web page and she agreed but said she would have to get it cleared thru the district manager. She assured me the web price was right and he would honor this price. 2 days later the manager called me and said the district manager wound not honor the advertised price. She said he stated it was a “Old Promotion” that they failed to remove. And I have only be in the unit almost 6 Months, now I’m told the price is going up to $160.00 with only 10 days’ notice.
BTW I’ve attempted to speak with the district manager 3x the answering service says he’s not available and wont put me thru to his extension…. Isn’t that great customer service…? Right??
This is unethical. My attorney is looking into liability.
I call this Bait & Switch!
Then when I was talking to the manager I told her I wanted to store my Harley Davidson in the unit for the winter, and I would need to plug in my trickle charger in she agreed.
When I took my Harley there, there was NO Electric not even lights (She said they made her turn the power off to the units) I advised her that we agreed on the use of power she said yes, but they do this stuff to customers once they get them in and under contract.
I don’t even have access to over head lights to see to go thru my stuff. This is an unethical practice I believe. My attorney is looking into this as you read this.
I’m saying Renters beware!!
More to follow – BTW If the storage unit removes this it will be reposted daily and when we decide to file on this, it will be updated
If this has happened to you or someone you know, please e-mail me details..

"Ms. Gloria have gave me fantastic customer service. She showed me around and made suggestions of supplies to purchase to protect certain types of items that I will be storing. She has kept a smile the whole time and was very polite. I will recommend anyone to use this location to store their property based on the type of customer service that I have received."
"On Tuesday May 29, 2018, I got stuck at Public Storage on Lee Highway in Centreville, VA for about 3 hrs. After being yelled at and berated by customer reps, a police officer drove me home. The next day I called them to let them know that I had my car there and of the incident that happened. I wanted to make sure it didnt get towed. No one answered and I called frantically, about 20 times. I had to use an uber to go back there later that day. I went inside and told an employee about my care being left there overnight. Her response was an apathetic "so what do you want." Shocked I just left.
After I got my car home Yelp, Google and went on their Instagram to complain. They blocked me on Instagram and deleted my post. The next day got an call from Jillian Gonzalez, a district manager who said she called me because of review I did and asked me to remove it. Because I was disappointed in her service, I did not. I think she should have called the employee and told them about me being stuck there and about my care. Jillian didnt care. She just wanted the review removed because she told me it would hurt her performance. She called me with her boss sitting next to her. I did not and from then on she has ignored me and has not fulfilled her promise of giving me back my uber fare, in which she SHOULD as it was not my choice to take an uber, I had no choice because of their malfunctioning property. I have tried contacting her but she just wants her review removed. She didnt even bother to contact me the next day and ask me of my whereabouts or apologize for my inconvenience till after I left my review. She then tried to belittle me and infer that I was ungrateful by telling me she sent an area manager who left his 6 month old baby with his wife to look for me that night. Did it ever occur to her that I have a family too? Very condescending. Jillian is a horrible manager and doesnt understand the importance of good customer service. Bugs & leaks all over my property. "Terrific staff and the service they provided was top notch, very happy with my storage space."
"We put our items at public storage. Went to get some out. The unit was pulled apart and had RAT **** all over. No dumpster to put our trash in. We had to wash and scrub everything we could save down. When we go back to get more the police were there, unit next to ours was robbed. They lost almost everything. This is suppose to be a place with security. The place is dirty and horrible. A month after putting our stuff in they raised the prices. We will never use public storage again. The people in the office are very rude and nasty. Please just be careful before putting your valued possessions at a public storage. This one is on 36th st ocala fl."
"Heather was very polite and helpful. She helped us find the right size space for what we needed to store. She also walked us through the paperwork and drove us on the golf cart to view our space"
"When I first walk in I notice how clean Public Storage was. I walk up to the counter and Arlene asked me if she could help me, I asked questions and she answer all of them so I decided to rent a space. Arlene was patient, listen, and explain the cost, sizes of units and gave pamphlets detailing everything I needed to know! If you need a storage unit try the one on 190th st across from Walmart, office depot and Star bucks. there are 3 levels of storage units I am on level 2 using the elevators and there flat bed cart made it easy to load and unload my things and I am a woman.
