"Avoid Puls. They do not stand behind their work past 90 days. We paid them $416.25 to repair our clothes dryer in July 2022, which had stopped drying the clothes due to a burned-out heating element. Just 4 months later in November 2022, the dryer has the exact same issue. Since we are outside their 90-day warranty window, Puls says we are out of luck and we'll have to pay the full amount again. This is not a local company, but rather a large, nationwide, faceless company that obviously does not care about its reputation, so best to avoid."
"Puls website & emails promise:
-90-day Puls Guarantee on parts & labor
-No payments until job is done correctly
-Pay later online
-Workers are licensed
-Bring all their own tools
-Satisfaction guaranteed
Not a single item I just listed is true, all a scam.
I needed a new line for a new gas cooktop installed. I had already removed old stove, just couldn't get it unscrewed to add new line, which I provided. Old line seemed to be glued on.
Puls could arrive quickly, saw all these (lies) guarantees, no problem simply remove gas line, install new one.
Quote was $149.
Day of arrival, tech was on his way. Didn't show up for over 3 hours. Brought a friend in tow.
For tools, he had with him nothing but a single wrench.
No flashlight, plyers, grease, mirrors, hammers, nothing...he had to BORROW my tools.
I supplied new gas line, new cooktop, flashlights.
These 2 men struggled with this old gas line for over an hour. Said it wasn't meant to come apart, it was "too difficult", they were carrying on, swearing, I said, "This is exactly what you were hired for, it was explained in emails and job description."
I went outside with my dog, came back in, "Oh yay! We got old line off."
Then couldn't get a single burner of 5 to light. Said, "I don't know what's wrong with it."
Stovetop also came with these small metal pieces, said, "Maybe these go on the burners?" Duh, yes they did.
I wasn't hovering, but see the friend had picked up my phone, was trying to turn it on. I immediately took phone back, he said, "Sorry, I thought that was his phone. They're both black." (!!!)
I asked main guy if he worked on gas stoves much, said, "No never, I don't usually do gas, I just learn as I go."
"So, you're NOT LICENSED?"
"No, I move furniture."
Said all 5 burners worked, lit one, stupid me, I should have lit them all.
I used my card to pay $149. They said I had to pay them, right then, not online vs. their advertising.
It's one of those card sliders, I asked for a receipt, they said Puls would email it to me. No receipt.
Except, they didn't only charge me $149 I agreed to!
They charged me $289 and charged my card another $49.
During this my bank contacted me, twice. I still thought we were at $149.
Then I see the guy's friend literally tried to take a PHOTOGRAPH of my debit card! I asked what he was doing, he said they need a photo of my debit card. Unbelievable!
I said, "No you don't." I was a Fraud Analyst for Visa, MC, Discover.
I also was ROBBED by another unskilled day laborer who photo'd my CC, used it to fly to Vegas, buy multiple hotel rooms, clothing, you name it.
She is now serving time for 6 out of 28 Felonies (see my review on Speedy Cleans).
Early on, had said I needed my front steps redone, another big mistake.
This worker said he'd handle that, asked for a deposit, but it had to BE CASH ONLY.
I said, how much is the entire total? He waffled around, never came up with a number. Was supposed to show up next day, day after, Monday. Never showed.
"Just go to an ATM or bank, withdraw $250 or $300."
I know how to withdraw money! Friend then said he was the company OWNER. I said, "I thought they're based in CA? (Not Detroit!)" Oh, right, he said he was only a "part owner."
Asked to use my bathroom, ugh, how can I say NO? Sure. I don't know WHAT he was doing in there, but that night, the toilet would not flush. I have a plumber's plunger and clearer, I couldn't get that toilet to flush for over a week! Now the lift mechanism in the tank, near the handle, is totally broken.
I've owned this house for over 2 years. Never once had ANY issues with that toilet. I don't have a clue what he did, but he broke my toilet.
Next day, I see Puls charged me $289 AND $49, immediately contacted them.
What a load of liars.
I said, "Did your guy think he did such a great job that I felt the need to tip him?"
They got back to me, "We called the tech and he said you told him he did such a great job, you felt the need to tip him."
What?! You just quoted me.
3 fonts, so 3 different people answering.
Refused to do anything.
Tried to use a few burners, only 2 of the 5 would light! I couldn't believe it.
And best yet:
Michigan you have to be a LICENSED TECH to work on gas lines. Puls pretends that this is what these folks are. He "learned as he goes," not licensed.
GUESS WHAT I FOUND - HIDDEN - UNDER A CABINET AND BEHIND A COFFEE MAKER?
THE GAS LINE!!!!
This guy chopped it off.
There is that 90 degree safety switch, make sure it can't leak, while I was outside, this **** cut that entire portion off! Are you kidding?
Contacted Consumers Energy. Said anyone in MI working with gas lines had to be licensed, certified, you don't cut off the safety switch!
Told Puls, supposedly insured for $5m., nope.
Overcharged, then called me a liar. Puls INFORMED me I had TIPPED this guy
2 months later, NONE OF THE 5 BURNERS WORK, MY TOILET IS BROKEN, PULS STOLE OVER $300 FROM A DISABLED WOMAN, CUT MY GAS SAFETY LINE OFF!"
"Needed 2 patches of drywall replaced. Tech had to ask me what materials he should use to repair the area. Then wanted to use my vehicle to go get the materials to do the job. Spent 18 hours on the job and didn’t finish, and made a mess. Came back the next day, later than he was supposed to, still could not complete the job.
This is a terrible service, the phone operators are no support and probably tired of getting talked to about their terrible techs. poor work.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, IT IS A SCAM."
"STAY AWAY FROM PULS! This company is a scam! Overpriced and wont ever let you cancel anything, OR get charged AGAIN to cancel the membership."
"They came out to fix our refigerator, three times but did not. My husband signed up for the contract service in order to get a discount. HUGE mistake. They never fixed anything, we ended up buying a new fridge. But we were stuck with the service contract for an entire year. Really this should be illegal, but I know its not. Please do not sign up for their service contract and just don't use them at all."
"Unprofessional scheduling and business model -- This company proved itself completely unreliable. After scheduling an appointment on a Thursday, a series of follow-on emails from PULS indicated the serviceperson did not arrive that day "due to high demand in the area" and I could "reschedule" using their APP. I insisted they send another repair person to meet their obligation, and after agreeing to do so at a later time that day, the service person emailed me saying his truck was "over-heating" and that he could not make the appointment. It was two days later, a Sunday, before the next appointment was available. When I replied to the newly assigned repair person on the Sunday he was scheduled to arrive, he texted back "I don't work today (Sunday)." Hence, no repair person ever showed up. I immediately fired PULS and sought an alternative repair option. 1. They do not honor their appointments; 2. The main office has little or no effective communication with the "independent contractors" they employ; 3. No two individuals in the PULS organization ever gave me the same answer on a simple question; 4. They had no difficulty attempting to hard-sell me both over the phone and via email/text on a 'total home appliance warranty' prior to every showing up to complete the original repair order. This is some of the worst customer service I have experienced in recent years."
"Tech attempted to fix the dryer and after the second attempt it turned on but made new noises now. A year after the poor service, get charged a membership fee even after I told tech I did not want the membership.
After calling the company, they said they emailed me an invoice and information about the membership even though then never had my email address. This company is a total scam"
"very disappointed, they broke my ice box while trying to replace water supply tube, totally inexperienced technician, they've cancelled two scheduled meeting due to high demand in my area!! very disappointed and would not recommend them to anyone!"
"This company is CORRUPT and should be avoided at all cost. They will scam you and their customer service is abysmal. Similar to other people, I paid $400 for a new dishwasher pump.. The next day the dishwasher started flooding and caused thousands of dollars in wall and floor damage. I've called PULS several days in a row and the company refused call me back. Even when I said water is gushing and its an emergency. In the absence of being able to have a rep call me back, I have emailed PULS on numerous occasions and also zero response. It was only until I filed a Better Business Bureau claim did they bother to respond and they refused to refund me for a service not completed.
This is a totally CORRUPT company and I cannot recommend enough NOT using this company. The service is abysmal. The company wont honor the repair work of their incompetent techs and will still stick you with a bill. They are quick to respond to negative posts online but wont actually do anything when your house is flooded.
PULS - If you are getting this you picked on the wrong person to cheat and ignore. You should be out of business. "
"They do not follow their own standards.
Their website claims that the technician will estimate the cost based on the length of the job.
3 hours into the job the technicolor told me that it would be longer. When I asked how much longer, he could not give me an answer.
When I called Customer Service I was told they would look into it and call me with the information.
3 hours later no callback. 6 hours into the job I called Customer Service to get more information and let them know they no one told me it would be a 6 hour job. I never had the opportunity to refuse the work. I was then told that a supervisor world call me.
2 hours later the technician had to stop working because of personal issues. Still no call from a supervisor.
The next day the technician returns and works for another 3 hours. It has turned into a 12 hour job they no one could estimate this time, and I'm supposed to p pay by the hour!
A third call to Customer Service resulted in them telling me that a supervisor will look into it. A supervisor never called.
Caveat Emptor. Buyer beware. They want you to pay for the work yet they do not provide transparent pricing.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!"
"Twice I scheduled and twice they emailed the day before I had to reschedule. It must be family giving those reviews on Facebook so I want to say THANKS POLS this is a blessing in disguise you saved me time, money and headache. "
"This was learning the hard way that fast is not the best. This is the UBER of home repair. They "hire" techs and take 60% of their pay. They make bank on parts mark ups.....This is the worst for the consumer who just wants it fixed right.
They were expensive and did not do the job right. After he left the third time for $600 total to fix the dishwasher it was dripping water on the floor and not stop. The said they could not come out for 4 days! Has to hire ANOTHER repairman who tighted the compression nut FULLY. This should be checked before leaving. Sloppy, expensive and NEVER hiriing this SCAM again. Look at the reviews the "good" ones are all from the same day and tons of misspellings."
"Tech came for an oven repair. Diagnostic done for $89. Ordered the part for $197. Came install and there was a $220 charge for labor. One hour!!!! Total rip off. The tech was excellent. Too bad he has to work for such a rip off group. "

Had a man come fix my dryer there was…
Had a man come fix my dryer there was no heat to the dryer so he took the front off and everthing in the front came out of dryer and the back off as well and top off standing there looking looking then tells me needs a fuse that coast $30.00 so not necessary to take my whole dryer completely apart the guy had no idea what he was doing. after he put everything back together he gives me a bill for $286.00
I said you weren’t even here an hour and it was a $30 part he says it’s for my experience!!!!! complete rip off I would never use them I did use them one time before and the guy came and spent two hours on my dryer and I spent $150.00 I needed parts replaced and did not need to take the whole dryer apart. . But $285 less than an hour and a $30 part is absolutely horrible do not use this company and by the way the guy was rude and ignorant. This is the best part they send you an email and ask you to rate them and if you would like to give them a tip? yes a TIP I couldn’t believe it he just made $256 in less than an hour and he wanted to know if I was gonna leave him a tip wow!!!!!! do not use this company horrible! oh sorry my bill came to $308.00 i forgot about the tax and this charge this great!
General
Security & support fee $9.90
This fee helps cover various operating costs related to the Puls platform and general support measures like tech insurance, extensive background checks, and full customer support. what a joke!"
"I hired Puls to fix my dryer. A technician showed up as scheduled but the service went downhill from there. I attempted to contact Puls Support via email and phone to discuss my negative experience and have not heard one word from them. I ended up hiring a local company to fix my dryer and had a very good experience (guess I should have started there!). I will not use Puls again."
