"Ordered item on wednsday, july 12. by the 14th, it still hadn't shipped. Spoke to rep who was rude, unhelpful, and honestly could have cared less. On the 18th the order STILL hadn't shipped. Called and spoke to one gentleman who said he would ask his sup to put this in a "high priority". This seemed to be vague, so I called back and spoke to a second gentleman who explained they had run out of the item I had ordered due to high demand, and they were still waiting for unit allocation. he was nice enough to cancel my order. The charge was removed from my credit card a few minutes later.
THEN on the 21st I recieved an email stating my order had shipped.the charge reappeared. I called customer service, spoke to the supervisor. The sup stated that all I could do was wait until I receive the shipment (they would provide a return label)ship it back, and then wait (21 days!!) for the order to be refunded.
Burn in hell radio shack
EDIT - 2015: I WIN! HA! SCREW YOU GUYS!!!"
"bad, bad, bad!!! order a power supply that's advertised with a $50 mail-in-rebate. However, after i read the fine prints on the rebate form, i realize that it's a $50 bundle rebate with purchase of a $250 XFX 6800 gs video card. THe power supply was advertised on the front page of Radioshack.com, but there's not a word saying that this is a bundle rebate!! the advertisement simply said "Save $70 & $9.99 after rebate". called their customer support hotline to cancel the order, but i was putted on hold everytime i said i wan to cancel my order. First one (waited 8mins), saying that he only take new order & transfer me to a customer care dept, (took 6mins) I was being questioned 4 mins about y i wan to cancel the order. Again, this lady said she can't do it & transfer me to the resolution dept & put me on hold again. ( waited 25mins ) a guy pick up the phone but he start to questioning me again. Eventually, he told me that the order is not able to cancel as its over 24 hours. WTH!!!!!!
don't think i'll ever buy from Radioshack again."
"I placed another order on 08/19/2006, the item was in stock and I received it on 08/25/2006. I have placed several orders online with Radio Shack and have not had any problems. The items were in stock and were shipped quickly. The last order I placed on 07/02/2006 was shipped 07/03/2006 and it arrived on 07/05/2006 from Texas to Georgia. That's not bad since it includes a holiday."
"Ready to purchase mp3 player for 4th July trip 2wks ago but out of stock. Was put on notification when available. Received e-mail that item was back in stock. Placed order with involce stating IN STOCK 2-3 bus days. BUT received e-mail later that said it was canceled due to my information provided not being correct, went back to review invoice and all information IS correct. Returend to their web site only to find it is OUT OF STOCK. I am sure that was the real reason, an inventory system that is not capable of real time stock status so inconvienced 100s of people placing orders for non existant items. I will not waste my time with Radio Shack again."
"I ordered an X-connect PSU from Radio Shack with a rebate for $40 from RS, no problems there, and a $50 one from www.onrebate.com. The OR rebate was denied because I put down to have it sent to a different place than the order was shipped. This was because I am a college student and would no longer be at college by the time the rebate would come in. OR was no help after several calls and e-mails so I decided to give RS a call. I talked with a lady from there, and after several e-mails and much help from her, OR finally agreed to send the rebate.
I couldn't be happier with RS's customer support and I don't see how these previous reviewers had such a hard time.
If you're hesitant to buy something because of the previous review, don't be. Radio Shack has great customer support, which, amazingly, is still based in the U.S."
"Bought an antenna from RS and it would not work properly. Sent an email to RS "customer care" and got an immediate reply that they would reply within "next 24 business hours." Days later, I called their office and after negotiating their myriad of choices made it to a human. They were clueless about products AND customer service. I guess if they have what you want and it works, you MAY be ok, but hit a hitch and you are out of luck. Charging back thru AMEX is my only option at this time.
Note: Their "prompt" reply NEVER came!
"
"Radio Shack On-line are completely incompetent. They lost my order, then they double ordered, shipped the wrong items, charged my credit card an extra $400, and 2 1/2 months later I am still waiting on a credit from them. When the packages were delivered the delivery man said it is very common to have problems with them messing up orders. I will never ever purchase from them online again!!"
"Order was never delivered because of radioshack misprinting address in shipping (FEDEX) label. Emailed them when I found FEDEX tracking status as "Incorrect Address Exception". Did not receive any reply. Called them and asked them to correct the address. The reply was that they wouldnt correct the address after shipping out and I need to wait for the items to be returned for the refund!..
Its been 11 days after the order. One of the 2 items in this order has been already received back at radio shack 2 days ago. But I have not received any refund.(They charged each item in order as soon it was shipped). The other item is stuck some where with status "Delivery Exception" (as found at fedex tracking) since 8 days and neither being delivered or returned.
I alreday wasted several hours talking/emailing both Radio shack and fedex support. No resolution yet. Radioshack customer support number is hard to reach and emails are not replied in time even if you email multiple times.
RadioShack failed to deliver this order. And they are expecting me to risk my money until they find and get the item they misplaced themselves!.
Now i am proceeding with dispute with my credit card & bank.
This was my first purchase at radio shack.. I would never buy from them again!"
"This company advertised a doorbuster deal to get last minute christmas shoppers in the door right before christmas. It was a personal DVD player for $130 that was free after rebate with two rebates. Unbelievable, maybe. I called the number on the rebate forms and confirmed they were valid. I then bought the player. The cashier even confirmed the promotion. Now, I find out from a news story that RadioShack is refusing to honor one of the rebates. They say it was a typo.
Well that was some typo,
--It was advertised free after rebate on their website
--their website advertised two rebate forms
--both rebate forms had unique promotion numbers
--both rebate forms had complimentary requirements (implying that they were meant to go together)
--the cashier confirmed the promotion
--a call to the 888 number on the rebate form confirmed the rebate requirements and that they were both valid
On top of this:
--the players have a major bug that prevents regular movies from being displayed correctly
--many of the players in the store were obviously used and returned
--I already gave the player away as a gift and I feel real awkward asking for it back so I can return it
My recommendation is avoid this company. Any company that advertises a rebate and then "cancels" it after you bought the product and mailed the rebate forms in, will stop at nothing to deprive you of your money and keep it."
"I purchased a DVD player with two valid rebate from their site(one with the original UPc and one with copy of UPC)Only to find out a week later they they will honor only one rebate with original UPC and not the other one. Now I am holding the product without the UPC because I submitted that for rebate. And I can not return it or if I did the return will be less for the amout of rebate which I may not even get it because I returned the product. So now I am out $129 and holding a product that is not worth the amount I paid for excluding the rebate amount. What a rubbish company to do business with who can not honor their own advertised offer to millions of customers."
"On Dec 23, 2005, one of the busiest shopping days of the year, just two days before Christmas, RadioShack.com released a promotional product Axion Personal DVD player on their website advertising with the price -$5.01 after two rebates. The purchase price is $129.99, and there are two rebate forms linked, one for $65 and the other for $70. I went to the local radio shack shop, getting 4 of these products (rebate limit 5 products). The employees of RadioShack store confirmed that both of these rebate are valid before they checked out these items for me.
To make sure that both of rebates will be honored, I called RadioShack Rebate Center at 1-***-***-**** twice on Dec 23, 2005 before I cut the UPC for rebate purpose. Both representatives of the Rebate Center confirmed again that both rebates ($65 and $70) will be honored.
On Jan 5, 2006, I communicated with RadioShack customer service about the $70 rebate via email at ****@**** again, and got reply on Jan 9 from RadioShack representative Susan Davis. This email overrode all the previous confirmation about this rebate and claimed they will not honor the $70 rebate
Based on the above experience, this disputed issue is about false advertisement, not rebates. It seems this is a classic example of a “bait and switch” sales tactic two days before Christmas. "
"I ordered a Madden NFL 06 for Game Cube based on the web site showing that the Item was "In Stock" However it turned out that the item was Not In Stock and when I tried to cancel the order I was told I could not cancel. The item eventually was given to the shipper on 12/18/05. "
"I went to the RadioShack store in Latrobe, Pa and I inquired about getting another cell phone as an upgrade. My husband and I have been loyal customers for 23 months with verizon and I was told that an upgrade would be totally free on 2 phone models. We chose 2 Samsung "free" models and decided to add an additional Samsung "free" phone and line.
We were assured that these phones would be totally free by two different employees at the store multiple times. " Yes, you can take them today for free. It will not cost you a thing." we were told.
We initiated the sale and signed the contract.
The store manager then came over and said, "that promotion ended yesterday. Didn't you know?" to the young girl doing the sale. The girl then informed us that 2 of the phones would be $50.00 a piece and the extra phone and line would be free. We would receive a rebate in the mail. We were then told we could not cancel this as we signed the contract and would have to take the extra phone. The "promotion" ended yesterday on the other two.
To top this all off, our phone numbers were already changed to the new phones. We asked to switch them back to our old phones as we were not going to be a party of this obvious scam and plus did not have an extra $100.00 at this time to buy them anyway. We returned home with both of our cell phones inoperable. We called the store and it was closed!
I called Verizon the following morning to activate my phones and was told the activation was not even attempted! No doubt to pressure us to buy these phones. We were at the RadioShack for an hour and a half for absolutely nothing.
If RadioShack is a reseller of Verizon they should know what you are selling and what the costs would be. This was an obvious bait and switch tactic. I am appalled that they did this to customers and so brazenly."
"Long story short.. I bought a defective Radio Shack brand laptop charger which fried my Armada M700 the very first time I used it (Voltage Converter Board - 235375-001). The manager claimed that the charger could not damage my laptop (disputed by HP support) but that he would have it fixed for free to "save face." Two months later I picked up my laptop; unfixed. I was told a number of conflicting things in the many phonecalls that I made including 1) the charger could not cause damage to my laptop 2) they would replace the voltage convert board 3) they had replaced the voltage converter board and it wasn't the problem so, it must have been a coincidence that something else went at the same time I used the charger so, you're out of luck (local manager) 4)the voltage converter board was not replaced and the laptop was only diagnosed (I got this from the service manager at the service center) 3) local store managers don't have the authority to authorize "free" repairs (told to me as I went up the chain) . People I contacted in regard to this were: David Schreckenberger (service center ***-***-****), District Manager Dana Stone ***-***-****, Elsom Eldridge ***-***-****, Sherry Curry (Divisional VP) ***-***-****.
In the past I've experienced knowledgable and friendly sales people at Radio Shack. Radio Shack is the best place to find oddball fuses for my amplifier or RJ11 cable ends. But, as a result of my extremely negative experience with their management, I'll never shop there again. I'll find what I need online."
"Very good experience with radioshack. Have good deals at times. All hassle free."
