"My experience with Rainbowtronics has been extremely negative –frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive. Two months ago I ordered an extra battery along with my camera, with 2 day air delivery. First they sent the wrong battery. I called and arranged an exchange, and I still have NOT received the correct battery, and they still have my money, which they refuse to refund. Several calls to the customer service department have been unsuccessful in resolving the issue. I have had to purchase the battery from another vendor prior to leaving on vacation. The camera I bought was itself well priced, but with the problems with delivery of the correct battery, I have spent way more total on the purchase than I would have going through any of several other vendors. Rainbowtronics is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. Their salespeople are rude and pushy, their methods are shady, and their products are misrepresented on their website. I ordered a camera, was repeatedly hassled on the phone about buying useless extras and warranties, and was given an extremely annoying run-around when I wanted to remove one of these 'upsold' items from the order.

In addition, the camera I eventually received was (a) in an opened and slightly damaged box, (b) missing the installation CD's it's supposed to come with, and (c) the Japanese version, with all the labels in Japanese, for some reason!

Their so-called "rebates" are in fact rebates for store credit, something they won't tell you until you have purchased an item expecting cash back. This is false advertising.

Lastly, it is clear to me that Rainbowtronics fills up these online review sites with false positive reviews that they themselves write to make them look better. Read for yourself some of the "positive reviews" posted by them on this and other sites, and you will see that they all sound very similar, and are clearly written by the same people. This is a very dishonest and illegal practice.

"DEFINITELY AVOID THIS STORE! When they call you to verify your credit card, they are really calling to upsell you (they are quite pushy and they did succeed). Immediately after the phone call, I realized that I had been scammed and called back to cancel the order. They kept asking why. I insisted they cancel the order and then I was put on infinite phone hold. I sent them emails to cancel the order and contacted them via the "Contact us" input. Several hours later I received an email saying my order was shipped. I was told that I was going to receive camera batteries with a "10 hour" life (whatever that means) but my order says "4 hours". Those stupid logos next to "Are we certified?" mean nothing; they don't in anyway indicate the quality of service. Most of the glowing feedbacks here are stuffed by the company. Fortunately, I have the time to fight them and I will. If you don't have time, spend a bit more money and buy from someone reputable. If you can somehow manage to cancel your order before anything is shipped, they will charge you 7%. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE RETURN POLICIES CAREFULLY. ESPECIALLY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY; IT CANNOT BE RETURNED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES."

I did purchase an additional battery but declined the other offers. I received my item in a timely fashion but did not receive the cleaning kit or table top tripod. I've called on Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sunday (not a holiday weekend) only to get a recorded message that I have called outside of regular business hours, please call again later. The packing materials included a correspondence that says that if I complete this review I can receive my choice of FREE 1) case, 2) cleaning kit, 3) table top tripod, 4) year’s supply of screen protectors, 5) memory card wallet. I am completed the review and will wait to see if I receive my item."

"I went with this store vs. CCI camera city because of all the positive feedback for Rainbowtronics vs. CCI camera city. CCI camera was more then $50 less, but I didn't want a problem. I ordered the camera Friday night. Monday morning I received an email stating to call them because they needed more info with my credit card. I called all day Monday but they were closed all day. I got through Tues, but was on hold for a long time so I hung up. I tried back Tues again and got through. Sam asked for my credit card number on the back of the card. Then the there was a soft sales pitch for different accesories. I declinded them all. Then today, Friday, 7 days after my purchase I received my camera, which looks in perfect condition. My shipping charge was for 7 days so that worked out. The only complaint is that I had to call them to get a mini sales pitch, which took several attempts."
