"WARNING - FRAUDSTERS OR IMPOSTERS
I have made two bookings in Phuket with them, both fully paid, both cancelled by them in a few days. I have received my money back for the first booking they cancelled, but not for the second one.
They have wasted two weeks of my time, during which the prices have skyrocketed and the offerings have vanished. Thanks to their incompetence (or was it fraud to pump up the prices?) I have lost both money and booking.
Looks like they employ all the possible sleazy business practices where they hide behind dozens of legal documents to muddy up their liability for stripping you of your cash. You think you have a contract with them once you have paid their quote? Oh, no. They can cancel your booking at any time without any reasonable explanation and send you another quote with a higher amount. And so on till you are charged 10 grand for Toyota Yaris.
Avoid them by all means possible!

"Booked a car for 3 days in another city. Due to traffic and weather, we didn't get to the agency before they closed. I went the next morning to get our car and was told there were no more cars and to contact rentalcars.com directly for a refund. They refused to issue me a refund and kept the full amount for the 3 day booking.

"We booked a car and got a delay with pur flight so the company through rentals canceled the reservation without any notice. We ask to book an upgraded car and pay more they lied saying no cars available. We call cuatomer service to ask for our money back because we didn t pick up any car. They refused and told us the only way is to book another car through the same order , we agreed but guess what : they told us they have no car available in the whole city of rhodes the same day , we ask for the day after and same answer no cars available and again with all the days we were there (4 days) . Still didn t want to refund us !
We wrote a complain but a computer send us a response . There is strictly NO customer service!!! In my opinion we should write on as many social network as possible to tell people not to book with them !! That s what i ll do

"Scam. Totally not customer orientated business. Terms&Conditions of the services are placing customers in unfavourable position. Customer support is the worst I have experienced in my life, doesn't even try to help out and make no efforts to resolve the issue. All they care is money, so don't even hope for any kind of refund if something goes wrong. -10 out of 10. It will be probably easier for you to hitchhike than rent a car using this awful service provider."
"I wish I read all of the reviews online about this company before getting scammed / throwing my money in the trash. The rental location (do they even rent any cars from there I have no idea), but we had to find a small shuttle bus, which took us 15 mins away from the airport, to a small rental place with a huge, one hour + line, just to be told we couldn't get our reserved car (but we would be issued a refund with zero problems). After many wasted hours with small children in tow we had to rent from another agency. This company refused to apologize or issue a refund. I feel completely scammed out of ton of my family's vacation time and hundreds of dollars. Horrible experience. "
"I booked a car reservation accidentally, and realize it 10 mins after booking. Immediately cancelled my booking, and found a hefty cancellation charge. I call them, and they kept stating they can't do anything as their system handle the transactions. "I want to tell you a story that was with Rentalcars. I was traveling in Prague and booked through the website of Rentalcars car rental with Elmo from the airport in Prague, when I arrived to pick up the car just in time for me, I noticed various Elmo car rental closed. There is no phone number or any sign that the car rental shop is active. At that moment I called Rentlecars to cancel the order and check why the Elmo car rental agency is closed. Rentalcars customer service received the call and everything is documented even sent me the call in an email complaining that the agency is closed. And sent photos of the closed agency. Everything is documented. I was told by a rentalcars company to open a case after a week to get a refund. And to this day half a year after the event I have not received any refund the amount of rent was about $ 500. In all the cases I contacted Rentalcars closed the case claiming they spoke to the Elmo Agency and the Elmo Agency said they were on the spot and the agency was open even though I keep sending the facts proving that the agency was closed. Rentalcars is an unprofessional and immoral company, its customer service is poor and it turns out to be a fraudulent company that stole money from a customer. The company did not provide an answer to all the evidence it received and simply ignored me the customer without any ability to do anything against it. It is not advisable to mess with this rogue and immoral society just thieves."

I would give it 0 stars if I could. They do not screen their 3-rd party car rentals. My rental was a disaster!!! 'Miami life' car rental is a SCAM. It took them 30 minutes to pick me up from the airport and when I got to the counter the price from $25/day went up to $90/day plus taxes. Yes, you read it right $90. First of all they will tell you that RetalCars.com imposes $1,000,000 liability insurance (Yes, again 1 million!!!) and when you show them that you do have that in liability, they tell you that "XYZ" insurance company is not one of the insurances they 'accept', so you have to buy $40/day of their insurance. It is not all, than they add $25 PER DAY for a SunPass. Even so, they supposed to give you an option to use your own pass!!!!
After all that, they told me that because it was past my rental time RantalCars.com canceled my reservation!!!!!!!!

"I booked a car through RentalCars.com for a vacation with my family. When I arrived at the rental car counter, my car was given away, which was annoying, but they had another car available. Then when I went to check out they doubled the price of the rental with "required" taxes which were over $40/day. I called the RentalCars.com support number and they were less than helpful continuing to tell me that because I was a bit late, they couldn't help.
The issue here is that the rental car company they were working with upcharged huge fraudulent fees and taxes. The thing is, I spent the time calling other rental car places on the same block and none of them had these required fees and those fees weren't on the RentalCars.com quote page or I would never have booked. When I wrote for support they again started with talking about the pickup time. This had NOTHING to do with car types or availability and 100% to do with the fact that it was cheaper for me to book with another car rental place down the street then just paying for the scam upcharge I was being asked to pay.
This site is useless, it's a scam, they partner with scammers and they don't protect the customer. DO NOT USE this company! Save yourself the time and money and use a company that actually does due diligence on their vendors. "

"Worst custumer service ever. Nobody cares about resolving anything. Paid for a rental almost 2000 dollar when i got to the airport they cancelled the reservation. After 2 hours on the phone they told me i had to wait until the last day of the rental date to file a claim. I filed the claim and they denied it. They practically stoled 2 grand from me! Telling i did not pick up the car! When i was right there at the rental counter! Total Scam!"
"Apparently Booking.com sublets their vehicle rentals to Rentalcars.com in the United Kingdom (not in USA).
I would give a negative rating if allowed. Proper Customer Service is simply non existent. Additional charges on back end of 71.00 for a 3 day rental.
There s a high probability you will be frustrated and unsatisfied if you book vehicle rentals through rental cars.com or booking.com.

Even I provided all the evidences, the rentalcars.com customer service still deny their wrong doing with such an obvious thing and not take any responsibility, the business practice is apparently kind of fraud.

"First of all: This is not a rental company but a broker. Just book directly with a rental company and save yourself a major headache.
I had rented a car and paid with my Visa card. When I arrived at the rental desk, my card could not be read and so I was not given a rental car! I was assured by the employee that I would get my money back - he even signed another form for this. I just walked to another rental desk (luckily there are several at the airport) and the credit card magically worked just fine. Strange. So it wasn't my fault I guess.
Back home I tried to contact Rentalcars.com. This is a lengthy and frustrating process: difficult or unreachable by telephone and you will only receive a response via the site after a month of waiting.
Long story short: I didn't stick to their cancellation policy and so they withhold 3 days of rent. I find it unacceptable that charges have been made when the credit card reader of a rental company they have appointed is not functioning properly.
In the normal world you don't have to pay for something that is broken but Rentalcars hides behind their fine print and does not do what is right.
I see a lot of similar experiences on various review sites... if only I had read them first!

"WORST AGENCY EVER!!!! DO NOT BOOK!!! I had to cancel the reservation not because of my fault but for the rental car place fault. And this rentalscars agency in Uk had me on the phone with 4 different people 2 rude women said I can only change the reservation or I will loose the whole amount which was more than $700. One of them even hanged up on me. And then 2 other men said that they could cancel and refund me but charge me 3 days of the rental which ended up charging me $84. It’s better that than losing the whole $700 but its still so unfair. This people are THIEVES!!! Many agencies are just trying to recover the money the lost during the pandemic. DONT FALL FOR IT."
