"We flew to Majorca on May 8 and right at the airport ordered the car through the booking.com.
We took the confirmation that the car will be from the company record 90.
and at the same time confirmation from the company Rentalcars.com.
Then we took another confirmation with a contract from the company Autografus.com.

Autografus.com sent along with the contract an invoice of 108.53 € (FUEL TANK - 74.85 € + SERVICE AND REFUELLING CHARGE-33.68 €) + EXCESS / FRANQUICIA- € 1400.00.
Since I did not have a credit card, but a debit card, they did not block 1,400 euros, but were removed from the card and said they would return it as soon as we returned the car intact.
On May 10, our plans in Majorca changed and we decided to stay there for one more day and return to Paris not in the morning of May 11, but in the evening.

"Renter beware! Avoid like the plague renting from rentalcars.com and GOLDCAR ! Arrived at Funchal, Madeira, Portugal airport Feb 23 2019 to pick up rental car-prepaid in advance of 2 months and was told they would not rent me a car because my licence was less than a year old. ??? They should know Canadian or US licenses are renewed every 3-5 years-they even said "Oh we have this problem with you Canadians and Americans all the time" !! I explained this to them my licence was valid until 2020 but they would absolutely not give me the car. I'm 66 years old and drove bus professionally for over 30 years. Other Canadians on the same trip had similar problems with Goldcar-from refusal to exorbitant upgrades. Went to the next competitor (Rodavante) and they rented me a car on the spot! When I went to Sao Miguel a week later to pick up my rental car (also booked with rentalcars.com but fulfilled by Illha Verde agency) I got the car with no hassles at all! ???!! Getting back home, my booking agency had them call me,I explained what happened, they put me on hold for 10 minutes and then the line went dead. I then sent an email complaint with all the details and drivers licence but I never heard from them again. Thank god I reserved the car with my Visa credit card-called Royal Bank visa rep and I had my refund in less than 24 hours, but what a hassle! "
"I would give them a"0" if I could.So were pick up our car on Jan 17 in Liberia at the Budget Counter and the rep for Budget says the Liability insurance provided by you guys is insufficient and we will be charged $5000 if we so much as nick someone's car. Get home, fill out the form, get a letter via email from Rental cars.com that they are processing my refund. Never see it show up. Then I get an email today that "they have reviewed the case" and will not be reimbursing us. A a top sales travel agent I will be posting for our 6000plus agents to suggest no one use this company. "Totally got scammed in Portugal (Lisbon) by Sixt and rentalcars. Showed up late (2 hours) and my car (that was prepaid) was gone, got forced into an upgrade (there was another family who had the same problem) and paid Euro500 extra! Terms are not clear and using this as an opportunity to upsell, something all rentalcar companies are known for. Have requested compensation but rentalcars refuses any liability in this and will file a complaint with the BVRLA. Looking for other victims to join me. My advice, pay more and go direct or look for other websites to reserve a car. Was told by another company rentalcars.com are known for this practice.

"They send me with my reservation to a third party, as I understand-Airport Van Rentals Chicago.These guys are total scam. People, do not rent from them! Ordered Chevy Tahoe over Rentalcars.com. Got old Ford Expedition with 64K miles on odometer. Millions of dents and scratches and even loose rear view mirror-all weren't the worse. The car was underivable at the speed 60 and up because of unbalanced tires. All shaky and hard to keep it in the lane. Also it had serious issue with brakes (looks like brake pads needed to be taken care of). Because of that I needed more time to get to places I needed to be and was not able to return car on time. In that case they charge you double rent+fee. Big companies who care about the reputation and clients don't do that. Be aware!"
"One of my bookings cancelled in error by RC. I rebooked with them but only found when i picked up car that the replacement insurance did not cover the excess ( which had veen covered in first booking). I paid nearly 300 euros to car company to ensure i had full cover. After numerous emails to RC I've received a partial refund but they they have failed to respond to my questions about why a full refund was not provided or details or how to further a formal complaint. Ive checked a few sites for RC reviews . These identify many people are experiencing issues !"
