Worst experience ever!

"After two weeks of waiting for shipping information on some firewood I ordered I called to check the status and was told it was placed on hold for verification, I was told if I hadn’t called I would have never been informed! They then stated it would take an additional 1-3 day for verification and another 1-3 weeks for processing!! I asked if there was a way to expedite the processing and they refused, said they were unable to do that. 4 days after calling to verify my information I received an email that my order had been cancelled with no explanation as to why. This is a bad company that treats their customers poorly, obviously has very poor management and I will never purchase from Rural King again. Additional I will make it a point to post this on every review forum and share my experience with everyone I know. Not that is matters because I have no doubt this company will be bankrupt in no time!"

very bad

"They sent me a rifle that did not have a removable side-baffle break when the one I ordered specifically stated that it was removable. I contacted customer service and they were extremely rude and repeated the same line over and over that "since I received the rifle I had to take it up with the manufacturer for warranty" and did not back up their sale in any way. They advertised something that they didn't provide after I paid for it, should be false advertising or straight fraud. Absolute garbage."

I now see why they have horrible reviews

"Ordered drexel herbicide. Received some other brand. Called to tell them they shipped wrong product. Was told it said they may substitute brands. Said I could return it but I would pay shipping. Looked at site and couldn't find that claim anywhere. If it's there, it's well hidden. No customer service at this company. It was obvious they don't care. This was last order they'll ever get from me. Tried to leave this exact same review on RK's site and they kicked it off. Said it didn't meet their requirements, what a joke. If it's not pos, they kick it off!"

Buyer beware online rewturn policy

"Had to contact support 2x to get refund !
Could you explain why my refund was only $69.11 ?

Item was $89.41and return shipping was $58.74 paid by me.

Up to 20% restocking fee would have been $71.53, so still short.

So I’ve lost $79.04 total by doing business with Rural King and tire was wrong size.

"I placed an order only for them to EMAIL me AFTER the order was supposed to have arrived that they didn’t have my items. Helpful. I told them I didn’t want the order then and they SHIPPED IT ANYWAYS. And charged me. Stay away, their customer service ****."

Avoid Rkguns.com

"First checked online stock for a ruger pistol at my local Rural King store. It showed none in stock so I ordered one from RKguns.com. The next day I was in the store and it turned out they had several in stock. The clerk said, “Oh yah, don’t trust online stock”. I asked if I could get one from stock and cancel my online order but was told no because the order was in process. I figured it would come quickly because rkguns claimed it was already shipped from IL and it was only going to Northern KY. However, it took a full 3 weeks! In addition to that major and uneeded wait, rkguns charged $12 to send it to my RK store."

Still waiting for my ammo order

"This place must have a policy of only hiring high school drop outs. I'm not kidding. I've been waiting over 5 weeks for my $400+ ammo order. Ammo that was "in stock" and should have arrived within 7-10 business days according to their site. I took a screen shot to prove it, despite customer service arguing otherwise. I've complained every 5 business days since then, and they keep responding with "they are experiencing system issues". Never once proactively sent out an update explaining this "system issue", offered a discount, or even an apology. This is complete BS. I'd highly advise avoiding these idiots unless you enjoy being aggravated."

Unclean and very disappointing experience

"Gainesville, Florida store...Arrived around noon so excited. First time atba RK store. Been looking forward to this visit so much. Long story short, store is filthy, restrooms are the dirtiest I have ever refused to use. Employee attire in general were slovenly and unkempt. Vest were dirty, dead chicks in garbage can by chick confines. Smelled awful. We went to purchase stock feed, outdoor apparel and possibly a tractor. We hope it is only this store in this condition...We will try the one near Crystal River soon. Hoping for a better experience.."

Waste of time

"Placed an on line order for 40 orange electric fence posts. Two hours latter I get 40 emails stating the order was canceled because the item was not in stock, although the web site said they had them in stock. The next day I placed another order for 36 green electric fence posts, and again I receive 36 emails that said the order was canceled because they did not have them in stock. I understand that items do go out of stock; however, there is no excuse to not have your web site synced with your warehouse inventory. "

"Avoid rural king online, it's a sham. I ordered a product on their website and got a response that they were ordering it from the manufacturer. Heck, I could order from the manufacturer myself, what do you need rural king for? Act as a middle man and mark up the product? Avoid avoid avoid "

Deceptive Opening

"Visited what was termed a "Grand Opening" in Hanover, PA. Shelves were 1/2 empty in many areas; employees could not direct you where to find items; though the advertising flyer stated to sign up for several "Giveaways" each day from 27-30 March, the person at Customer Service stated each day is for a different one; there were signs stating Government regulations state to wear a face covering yet approximately 1/2 the customers were wearing one. Will not go again; ****."

Mower took 3 months to fix!!!!

"Management lied to the corporate office stating that my voicemail was full. This was after I notified corporate. Carbondale, IL location has bad communication, no customer service skills besides Austin, and they are willing to lie to corporate executives to cover up the bad service they are providing. 3 months!!!!! The acting manager was looking to charge me despite my inconvenience. Thankfully all was covered by the warranty besides a $10.00 belt. I wish I would have reviewed the company before purchasing this ride mower. THE PURCHASE WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED!!!!!"

Buyer beware, disappointing experience, bad customer support

"Ordered a gun from their site that was out of stock locally. They gave me a list of local FFLs, 2 who had the FFL on file. I chose one, and contacted that place a couple days later, to see if they had anything I needed to do from my end. They advised that they no longer have an FLL on file, and have advised RKGuns of this multiple times. In order to choose a different FFL to have the gun shipped to, I had to cancel my order and re-order, after spending an hour and 26 minutes on hold to get a representative doing that, since I had received no reply to my customer service ticket in several days (other than an immediate auto email saying they would be back to me in 24 hours. ) Their ordering system was down when I called, so the rep told me he would call me back the next day to complete it. He did call me back, but several hours earlier than we scheduled it, after specifically setting a time. The rep told me that they would reach out to the FFL holder (even though I mentioned the site says it has to be initiated from the customer side), so I called and left a message with the guy on my end, advising to look for contact and providing their FFL email. Order (re) placed 6/10/2020. 6/23/2020, I received the first update since receiving the new order number, a cancellation email stating that my order has been update to a status of pending FFL, and the order is cancelled due to not receiving the FFL. No other contacts, no warning. A lot of time wasted for nothing, and of course I go to leave a review and find a ridiculous number of one-star reviews advising the same thing. Look before you buy, this is NOT a good place to support. "
