I need to fill out a form to order?

"I placed an order for an Elcan SpecterDR, at about $2250. I ordered it after my primary optic on my primary defense rifle went down. I needed the optic fast. Shortly after ordering, I received an email from SWFA Customer Support that requested I fill out a form with my credit card information or some such, then send it back to them. I'm not going to do that, it's just another extra step over any other vendor. On top of that, I was told the optic was on backorder, but there was no notification on the website that stated that. I just took my $2300 somewhere else. I can't rate SWFA as one star, because I understand the need to protect yourself, but those are the reasons why I took my money elsewhere. "

swfa 12x milquad scope

"Ordering was simple. Delivery was fast. The product is is great condition. Having it mounted on a 20 MOA base for additional range distance. Have not used it yet to fire a shot but I'm hopeful. Couldn't beat the price for this kind of quality. "

Update your inventory

"SWFA showed Hornady Z max 30/30 ammo in stock. I added 1 to cart. Went through the entire online ordering process, paid for and received an email confirmation order number. Then next day I received an email saying it was no longer in stock. I called the company back to cancel the order. They should update their online inventory records just like every other company does! By the way I found and bought the same item at another company out of California for five dollars less. They showed 90 in stock. Take a clue from them SFWA!"

Common Thread with other negatives

"I looked up SWFA's ratings on reseller ratings.com before writing this. Of 10,631 Customer Reviews, approximately 1200 are negative. 99% are for the same reason as mine, ordered something from a very modern looking website that gave no indication of in stock or out of stock. Competing with the likes of Midway and Brownell's and even Amazon, many of us online shoppers have gotten quite used to a stock level being explicitly stated before you attempt to order, or at least before you complete an order you'd get some sort of warning. My first order, taken and then notified that product is backordered. Second order of alternate item, to "fill the gap" until the first order could be filled. Backordered. Now, I'll bet that every person at SWFA is aware of, an frustrated by, this issue. All except for the ONE person whom has the authority to order the change be made to the website, and for whatever reason, be that they are cheap or the current website provider doesn't have the capacity to make the change, the just let it go on. SWFA hasn't charged my card, and they were forthright about the backorder, after an email from me the rep provided an estimate of the timeframe, 14-21 days to have the product in stock. This is day 14. Has it really been any skin off my neck? No. Is it still disappointing? You bet. I was hoping for SWFA to be THE go to place for outdoor stuff, but instead I've already started to look at other websites. Oh well."
