"I feel like people take the time to write bad reviews, but when they have something good to say they don't write about it, so here it goes!
I had some hesitations with ordering from save-on-crafts because of these very reviews. I placed my order for some burlap runners and then totally freaked out. I called them to cancel and told them the reason was because I was worried I'd never get my order. She said she totally understood and would keep an eye on my order. Within 15 minutes I got a confirmation that it had been pulled for shipping, and a few hours later, I got a tracking number which I have been following. I don't know why this company has a bad rep, but unless something is totally wrong with my order when I get it, I give them 5 stars!

"I'm incredibly disappointed and surprised by Save On Crafts customer service. I placed my order on 3/23 and it never showed up. I called SOC who told me I needed to call USPS. USPS tried to trace the package and then told me that SOC needed to file an inquiry to help them track the package. SOC flat out refused, saying that they are not insured against loss or damage with USPS so they wouldn't even write a simple letter to USPS describing the package to them. It would not have cost them a dime and would have kept me as a customer. As is, the order was only $100 but they charged me $60 in shipping! All they did was offer a "partial refund" on the SHIPPING, not even the items that I'll likely never see. It may not have been so bad if they were at least polite but I received nothing but rudeness from their staff - as if they were annoyed with me because the order was lost. Never again will I buy from SOC and I will no longer recommend them to my clients. "
"I had high hopes, but this was a horrible company to try to do business with. I ordered 10 rolls of fabric for my wedding tables, and when I ordered it said they had 180 rolls in stock. A few weeks later after paying for the rolls I received an email that said "Sorry we can't complete your order." no explanation! I wrote the company to find out what was going on, and have never heard back. When I checked the availability online it still said there were 36 rolls available. Save-on-crafts doesn't seem to care about their customers, and now I am out weeks of time to order new fabric from another, hopefully more stable, company."
"Order 30 vases for my sister. Ship was super fast however 1 vase was broken, 2 has big crack, and 1 has small crack. Asked them to resend 3 vases since 1 of them is still usable. They shipped the same day with 4 vases instead of 3 vases. Definitely going to order from them again in the future."
"The reason I am giving this company three stars is because I have ordered from them in the past and there was no problems whatsoever. I received my items promptly exactly as described on the website. However, this time around is a bit different. I am super annoyed with them right now. They have a online shipping graph in the 'shipping info' section of their website. You coordinate where you live to the number of days it will take to receive your order. According to this graph I should have received my order on the 12th or 14th at the latest. Needless to say, I haven't even been emailed a tracking number, meaning, it hasn't even left the warehouse.I am pretty disappointed.
To anyone thinking of buying from this website: I wouldn't hesitate to place an order as long as you are not working with a deadline and are prepared to wait patiently for your order to be delivered (much less leave the warehouse).
And another thing, some of these "5 star" ratings on this website seem entirely fake, don't they?"
"I have purchased from Save on Crafts twice. Both times, I have been charged extra $$$ in order to pick up my box from the post office. The website quoted me $18 shipping. When the box came, I had to pay an additional $23 in order to pick up the box from the post office. That's a total of $41 shipping for a $35 item!!!! For my other order, I had to pay $73 in order to pick up my box.
The first time this happened, I thought it was human error. When it happened hte second time, though, it became clear that they are undercharging for shipping on their website. Buyer beware - your purchase just might cost you waaaaaay more that you expected
Furthermore, I have tried to email customer service three times and have not replied."

"I read alot of bad reviews about save on crafts but I am so glad I took a chance. I just received my shipment like 15min ago and they are as good as it was pictured on the website. I bought the curly willow branches which are beautiful and a few aqualites which works perfectly. Maybe I am one of the few people who have had a positive outcome from them, I dont know, but I will be ordering from them again. The one negative though is shipping cost but honestly I have ordered products from other websites and have paid as high as $127 in shipping so as compared to, it not all that bad. The only thing I would suggest is to use USPS like they recommend because UPS is a headache to deal with!"
"I am so glad I still placed my order despite the negative reviews I read here.I went with the theory that more people will write to complain than to praise. I placed my order On September 13th and it shipped 3 days later. I didn't pay for faster shipping and had quite a large order and got it the 23rd. Everything I ordered exceeded my expectations. The peacock feathers are gorgeous and the candles and tulle are perfect! I am so pleased with everything I already ave a list going for my next order!"

"NEVER buy from save-on-crafts! Not only are they unable to send you the item you ordered, but when you call them to tell them, they will NOT apologize and tell you it is out of stock. AWESOME. "I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. I made an order before I found this website and I'm pretty happy that I ordered before I saw all the negative reviews because I probably would not have ordered from save on crafts. I ordered a few lanterns and lights to decorate my room with and my product came extremely fast (less than 3 days). I'm very happy with this website and I feel bad for all the people who have had negative experiences but my order turned out perfectly. I will definitely order from their website again in the future."
"I placed and order and never received any info on status. I emailed them several times asking about my order - no response. Finally, I called their customer service line. The lady said that my order was shipping that same day and I would receive a tracking number within a few hours. That never came. I emailed and called them again, no response. My package finally came, but it was missing two items - both important for my upcoming wedding. I have emailed them and tried reaching them via phone to no avail. I have left a message on their customer service line, and no response. So, now I just need to know if they are ever going to send it or if I have to purchase my items from another vendor. Of course, they have already debited my account."
"I will never buy anything from this company again. I placed my order on August 15th and paid for 3-day shipping. The company promises 1-day processing time; I figured that gave me plenty of time to receive my order before my August 27th wedding. I was wrong. I contacted save-on-crafts 7 days after I placed my ordering because I had yet to receive my order, let alone a tracking number. They told me that it was shipping from the warehouse that day (August 22)and that I would receive a tracking number as soon as it left the warehouse that day. 24 hours later, and still no tracking number. So, I contacted them again and told them I still hadn't received a tracking number even though I was promised my package was shipping out the previous day. I asked them to cancel my order because I was just so fed up with dealing with them at that point. The employee canceled my order and refunded my money, luckily. I asked how he was able to cancel my order if my order had truly been shipped the day before like I was promised. He said it hadn't shipped! Bottom line, don't deal with this company. You will not get what you are promised. 1-day processing and 3-day shipping apparently means nothing, even though their company offers it. I would give negative stars if it were possible."
"Since it seems most of the reviews I found for this company were bad I thought I would take my time and write a review.
I admit after reading everything people said I almost didn't order. But I really wanted my preserved orchids and they were the best deal for the quantity I needed. So I ordered.
Shipping is a little high if you are ordering only one item I ordered 5 so it balanced out. Item number 1 is just over $8 shipping Item 2 jumps to just over $17 my shipping never jumped again after that so I'm assuming it classifies shipping by weight categories.
You will be hard pressed to find coupons for this company as they maybe go out once a year and only to their newsletter.
I ordered 2 - 10 pk 8" paper lanterns, a package of curly moss, 2 - 30 count packages of preserved orchids, and 1 package of curly willow branches
I placed my order on June 16th 2011 and received my confirmation email within 6 hours.
I received my shipping code within 24 hours of ordering.
Package came VIA UPS and was received on June 23rd 2011.
My box had to be over sized due to the curly willow branches they packed plenty of filler paper to ensure that nothing was damaged. All of my paper lanterns were individually wrapped in paper no damage to any of them and even all my orchids came in in perfect condition. The box had been a little roughed up by UPS but Save on crafts had no control of that.
So over all I give this company 4.5 out of 5 stars only taking away 1/2 a point because I do think the shipping was a little high for what I ordered.
