"I had the same experience as others where the price was lowered after the DVDs were received. Except I was told that they would not reimburse even the Media Mail shipping for some mysterious, and not given, reason. I had mailed them 13 DVDs. It is too soon to tell how they will respond when queried."
"I recently bought 10 DVDs for 55$, very large choice and fast international shipping! Little problem : 2 of my DVDs were replaced by 2 DVDs I didn't order and one of the other DVDs I ordered contain the wrong CD inside. So for 10 DVDs, 3 mistakes! As we know it, I paid 13$ to send them back their mistaken DVDs... I just hope they really are gonna send the good DVDs..!!! I actually paid 68$ for 34$ received merchandise..."
"i placed an order for "bolt" the movie and it came fast and works just fine. I feel i got a fair deal. Kids are happy and so is dad without spending $25"
"Second Spin is the single worst Online Retailer on the Internet. They will NOT answer any of your messages and do not have aphone number to contact them. They charged me $50.00 for DVDs but never sent an Order Confirmation and Never shipped them AVOID SECOND SPIN! 100% RIPOFF!"
"Secondspin never paid me for my cd's. I packed, shipped and "sold" them my cd's. I got an email from Secondspin saying they were received and that they would send me a check for the cd's they accepted. I NEVER received the check. Despite many emails to their customer service dept. (they have no phone number), I got no response and no payment. Basically, they stole from me..."
"I have for two days tried to order cds off of secondspin. i have tried to finalize the order over a dozen times, but it keeps telling me to verify information of my card. i have looked it over with a fine tooth comb, called my credit card company twice, emailed secondspin once... no response.... its been three days now. I went as far as going to wherehouse.com their cousin to order and it says the same thing. i have tried to credit cards... "0.00" balance on them... and one debit card with more than the 35.00 dollars in the account that i need for my purchase, and nothing seems to work. it sucks they dont have a phone number, and email, is snail mail with these guys.... hopefully they can get there act together, until then i guess i am going back to amazon."
"I bought a CD and sold a bunch of CDs and DVDs and was very pleased with both experiences. The CD I bought arrived in only 4 days and was in good condition.
The CDs and DVDs that I sold were all accepted at the great prices I was promised when I placed the order. They took about a week to process my shipment after receiving it. They sent the check quickly though. Note that they reimburse for the cost of media mail shipping if you ship at least 5 CDs or DVDs.
Be sure to look for coupons before placing your order. They had a coupon for 25% off and free shipping for purchases and a coupon for 20% added to the value of CDs that were sold.

"Do NOT sell your used CDs to SecondSpin.com. I mailed them 16 CDs with the expectation of being reimbursed $52 and, after about 3 weeks, they sent me this lame e-mail with the suspicious explanation that they only received 6 CDs because the package was damaged. To add insult to injury, they further suggested that I take up a claim with the shipper. As you can imagine, I did not take out delivery insurance. When I tried to call to speak to someone, I found on the website the following message: "At this time we are not offering phone service." Shame on me; I should have double-checked and made sure this organization at least had a telephone number. What's worse is that, in the back of my mind, I suspected that something like this was going to happen. I'm in the process of appealing this. If they don't compensate me, I'm defintely going to file a complant with the Illinois Attorney General's Office."
"I recently purchased 14 CDs from Secondspin.com. In short, I'm very satisfied and will look for good deals from them in the future.
My CDs arrived in the quoted time and in good-to-great condition. 12 were very clean and read by my computer flawlessly. The other two from the same 2-disc set (and thus the same previous owner) had a number of significant scratches that wouldn't read accurately on my computer, but sounded decent on the cd player. Their customer service was quick to send a replacement. The replacement discs are nearly immaculate.
Their prices are pretty reasonable, and there are some particularly good deals to be had. For instance, the 10-disc Led Zeppelin box set was $15-20 under the eBay going rate.
Note that their shipping times are significant - about 2-3 weeks - although they explicitly state it, so it wasn't a surprise."
"For my opinion, the best place for buying used audio CDs since 1998 and great for games too."
"As a first-time buyer, I ordered several CDs, one of which was defective. Shortly after I notified Second Spin, they e-mailed me that they would be shipping me a replacement. They do stand behind their guarantee! The items were shipped quickly, for a reasonable combined shipping rate. Before ordering, check their home page for current special offers; I'm glad I did!"
"If you are thinking about re-selling to these criminals, please read this. I had a prior order with them where they falsely accused me of liquidating inventory (not trading in my own stuff). I assured them the stuff was mine, that I respected and understood their policy. I told them they could adjust the amount they were going to give me. They said no, we will mail you a check for what we owe you. All was well. I did a second order, with many less CD's; they were going to owe me a whopping total of $14.10. I waited 10 days to send them in just in case someone at second spin had a problem with my order. When no one contacted me, I mailed them in to them. 2-3 weeks go by, I do not hear from them. Finally an email saying they cannot accept my CD's. They claimed that they had told me I had to pre-approve any order with them (a lie). I told them that was not true, and that when I set up the order online, that is pre-approving it anyway. They said no. I said I either wanted my money or my CD's back. I assured them, as with the first order, I was not liquidating inventory. They sent me a form email back. They referred me to a different email address within their company. These people still said no, and unlike the initial contacts from them, were very rude and accusatory. After several emails back and forth, it became very clear they had no intention of honoring their deal. They refuse to send the CD's back to me and they will not send money. They are liars, thieves. If they did it to me, they can do it to anyone. "
"I've ordered 4 times from SecondSpin:
1st Order:
I needed a very, very rare DVD to complete my Gankutsuou DVD collection - Volume 4. SecondSpin had 1 used copy in-stock for $14.99 + $6 for international shipping. I ordered it after seeing SecondSpin had it listed on Amazon.co.uk in 'like new' condition.
When it arrived 2-3 weeks later (as expected) it was in a cheap Poundland quality black case (the series should all be in HQ see-through cases) and the front of the cover was ripped along the top on the front and back. Feeling both annoyed and disappointed, I decided to lie about it not arriving to get a full refund and, after 3-5 weeks of waiting, SecondSpin were good enough to do so.
------------------
2nd Order:
The next time I ordered I did so during one of their regular free worldwide shipping weeks.
After seeing lots of others have more luck, I gave SecondSpin another chance, this time ordering DVDs that cost no more than $4-6 each. I ended up very pleased with the results this time around since (2-3 weeks later) I received both DVDs in MINT condition, no issues whatsoever.
This order made me believe I'd simply been very unlucky with my first order, and SecondSpin didn't disappoint me with my 3rd and 4th orders.
------------------
3rd and 4th Orders:
I made 2 separate orders for a total of 15 DVDs during the recent 20% off + free shipping week SecondSpin had - It was too hard to resist. I paid a total of $55 for the 15 DVDs.
My 2 parcels from SecondSpin arrived today. The customs label stated the exact amounts paid and both were shipped from Sweden.
7/15 of my DVDs are Fighting Spirit volumes - A very popular boxing anime series that isn't out in the UK and is OOP in the US as a result of Geneon dying. 3 of the DVDs still have the seal intact along the top, which means they haven't been used or the past owner removed the DVDs out of the bottom of the case awkwardly. Aside from 1 DVD where the case plastic is damaged along the top, the rest of the Fighting Spirit DVDs are in perfect condition, all complete with inlays and the original cases.
My OOP (and unreleased in the UK) Geneon DVDs didn't stop with Fighting Spirit, a further 4 of the DVDs I ordered being Geneon titles - Vol. 1 & 3 of Doki and Vol. 1-2 of Fafner. All 4 DVDs are perfect, Vol. 2 of Fafner still having the seal intact along the top, which means 4/15 probably haven't even been used.
The remaining 4 DVDs aren't OOP like the previous 11, 2 being unreleased over here and the other 2 being part of a series that is expensive to buy in the UK. Vol. 2 of Diamond Daydreams is in perfect condition and completed my collection. Vol. 7-8 of Gundam Seed are in fine condition apart from the black case of one being a bit tatty.
The only real problem DVD out of the 15 turned out to be the one I only ordered because it was cheap - Vol. 1 of Baki. The cover is ripped on the back, the case tatty, the DVD scratched and there is no inlay. However, since everything else is in near mint to mint condition I really don't care.
Vol. 1 of Baki aside, the only annoyance is that the orange used sticker SecondSpin insist on putting on their DVDs leaves sticky residue...not much of a complaint at all really.
------------------
What do I think after my 4 orders? I think that, unless you're unlucky, SecondSpin are one of the best internet stores to buy from for people looking for OOP rarities and people living abroad who want to pay the same prices as Americans. I'll most certainly be using them again after they impressed me so much with the 15 DVDs that arrived today.
...oh, and it's worth mentioning that SecondSpin send DVDs in sturdy boxes, meaning the items they send aren't likely to be damaged during the 2-3 weeks international buyers have to wait."
"I have done a great deal of selling with this company for nearly ten years and I have had nothing but great experiences. It's true that they do not accept CDs that are scratched, damaged, missing artwork, or anything similar. This is for good reason. Would you want to purchase a CD in such condition? They have a huge database of CDs on their web site and each CD is given a sell value based on the CD's UPC code. Different UPC codes for the same titles of a CD can have a different sell value. If you input the wrong UPC, they will correct it for you when they receive your order. I did place one order with this company where they incorrectly gave me some lower values for CDs I shipped to them. The issue was addressed promptly and I was given the full amount agreed upon when I shipped the CDs. I have also sent them CDs that have not passed their inspection and they were immediately shipped back to me at no charge. They even reimbursed me shipping charges for the last order I shipped to them! Maybe I have just had better luck than others with this company, but I would highly recommend them based on personal experience."
"I've now bought from SecondSpin.com four times, totaling 2 games, 13 DVDs, and 16 CDs. Shipping speed seems kind of random (they aren't kidding with the 1-3 weeks thing, though only one has taken over a week), but everything tends to come OK.
So far, as well, only one item has come damaged: a CD beginning to succumb to CD rot. Within a day of emailing them about it, I had a credit on my account.
While I might be leery about selling to them, I think they're an excellent place to buy from."
