"Shoes.com customer service lied to me. I placed an order for a backpack on sale more than three weeks ago, it arrived defective, I shipped it back saying I wanted a replacement, they said when one was in stock they would send it. So I waited about two weeks, no backpack. I called again, they said it was not in stock, they said they would wait for one to come in stock, and then they would ship it to me. They said check back in a week if it had not arrived. Five days later, I get an email saying they have credited my account as a return. I call shoes.com and they say they will not give me the backpack because it is not in stock. I tell them that it is in stock at ebags, and has been all along. They tell me that shoes.com is part of ebags. (when I got the defective backpack, the box had an ebags label on it) but that they are not giving me the backpack, and that it is too late, they have already credited my account. I say, five days ago you promised it me it would be in the mail when it was in stock, and the woman said, too bad. Ebags did almost the same thing to me last summer on a sale backpack, they had this great sale price, then would not allow me to purchase it on their website, it was just stuck in my shopping cart, then they raised the price and said I could not have it. Beware of the rapidly changing prices at Shoes.com and Ebags, they are both the same company and both do this with prices."
"I purchased a shoe (Hugo Boss 14402 Ebano Shiny Calf oxford dress shoes) originally last year during a black friday deal. When the shoe arrived, it was 1) the wrong shoe and 2) the wrong size. I patiently waited for them to come back in stock since I had 1 year to return them. My size has been sold out for almost a year until recently. When I attempted to get the exchange, which I was told would be no problem when I initially received the wrong ones, Shoes.com was unwilling to allow me to buy the new pair at the current price and refund the difference (back to my original black friday purchase price) when my current pair would arrive at their facility. (*side note: first rep told me they could but I got disconnected and the consequent two reps i talked to after refused) I went ahead and placed an order myself anyway...only for it to arrive today and be the wrong shoe (same version as the previous pair). I'm not sure what is going on here but they have things really messed up. Both pairs received are brown oxfords and the one advertised are black loafers. Notice on the box the shoe version is known as Perth and the EbanoShinyCalf sticker is something that was added later. If it didn't have a pointy toe I would consider keeping it. I am not a fan of pointy toe shoes. Going to return both and not bother using Shoes.com ever again. Two out of two wrong orders, uncooperative staff/procedures (even when they are at fault), and unrecoverable wasted time. I am posting this as well on resellerratings.com in case they feel the need to scrub their site.
CONCLUSION: DON'T ATTEMPT TO BUY THIS SHOE...YOU WILL MOST LIKELY GET SOMETHING ELSE...ORDER FROM SHOES.COM AT YOUR OWN RISK..."

To top it off, if you are unhappy for ANY reason, _they_ pay for return shipping. "This was the first time I purchased a pair of shoes online. Normally for clothing type items, I like to try them on before buying them. Unfortunately, I could not find the style anywhere locally, so I decided to give shoes.com a try.
One of the nice things they offer is free exchanges or returns on unworn shoes. I figure if the size was wrong, I could simply send it back and exchange it for a different size. This is a great option, particularly since they will pay to have it shipped back to them.
The shoes arrived very quickly... within a couple days after I submitted the order.
Five months later, I noticed that one of the eyelets had broken on one of the shoes. I simply contacted their customer service via the web (live chat). The person who helped me was very helpful and told me that for defective shoes, I could either return it for a refund or exchange it for a new pair... again with them paying for shipping.
I would not hesitate to do purchase with them again. You do not have to worry about them being a company out of someone's basement/garage. They are a legitimate company... owned by the Brown Shoe Company which is a publicly traded company on the NYSE."
