"I wish I had read the other reviews first. My experience with Sit4Less was terrible. I ordered two Zody chairs for a total of $2,511.00 contingent upon being delivered in the window of 26 Aug - 4 Sept. I called them multiple times to confirm delivery. Of course they never showed up, and when I called them on 2 Sept I was told they will ship on 10 Sept. In the process I received multiple promises of call-back, none of which ever occurred. They are horrible at following up and don't seem to care, especially when they have your money. I have cancelled the order and requested a full refund, which I should receive, per their policy. We shall see.....I expect their refund process will be even more incompetent than their Customer Service and Shipping."

"wish I had read these reviews before ordering from sit4less.com. I just wanted to relay an experience with their service:

The chair (Herman Miller Aeron) was received quickly and was easy to assemble. Quality seems good and is comfortable. I'm 6'3" 210lbs so for taller guys, I think you will be happy with the chair.

I give the experience 2 stars not on the quality of the chair but on buying from Sit4less. After pricing the chair, I put the order in my cart. And then decided to call the customer service number to ask questions.

In that process, I asked them to match a price on another website and they agreed. I placed the order. All was fine. Then I received an email for 10% off if I ordered today- an incentive for people who put the order in their shopping cart and then don't complete the order.

I called to ask if they would honor this deal- which would be another 5% off. If they told me "no" I would have been okay with it and stuck to the agreed price. But they said they would honor the price and give me an additional 5% off.

A call to follow-up and two additional emails to them on this issue were not returned. I even sent an email saying I would leave a negative review if the price wasn't honored. No response. Obviously they don't care. JUST DO WHAT YOU PROMISE TO DO. Customer Service 101.

EDIT: changing to 4 stars. Bad initial experience with customer service but to the company's credit, they contacted me a few months later and gave me more than the credit originally agreed to. They were very apologetic. Good follow-up on their part.

"So far, I'm having an awful experience with this company. I ordered a $985 chair on 12/30/10. Today is 3/9/11. I received nothing from Sit4Less except a receipt for my payment and an order number the same day I purchased the chair. I noted that it could take up to 8 weeks for some items, so wasn't overly concerned until last week. I called on 3/7 to check the order status and was first told it shipped on 1/31/11 and then that it was reported "Undeliverable" by Fed Ex on 2/28/11. I would need to call Fed Ex and find out why. I called Fed Ex, provided them the tracking number and they told me the box was either empty or damaged. I reported this to the rep at Sit4Less, who promised to tell an Operations Manager, who would call me the next day. No call. I got the same rep when I called back today; he apologized for forgetting to tell the Operations Mgr. In the meantime, the chair was (mysteriously) partially delivered yesterday -- clearly repacked in a plain box, taped up, no packing slip, and most importantly -- NO BASE. I told all this to the rep and he said I needed to take 2 or 3 photos and email them to him (@healthyback.com, the "parent company") and in the meantime, he would see about ordering me another chair. I tried to go to sit4less.com to find an alternative person to talk with about my problem, but the website is down! So I called Healthy Back and spoke to a young woman who was not surprised at my incomplete shipment, easily accessed my order info and promised to call me back with a resolution within 30 minutes or less. I've got my fingers crossed, but all the other reviews, the inadequate response of the Sit4Less rep, and the website being down today all add up to a less than professional appearance for Sit4Less and a troubling experience for me! "

"i love my leap chair! the order process with Sit4Less was great. the sales associate was able to answer all of my questions and suggested this chair when i thought i wanted something different. the chair was delivered within a couple weeks as promised by my sales consultant. overall this was a great experience. i definitely recommend sit4less!"

"We placed our first order with Sit4Less and got 5 chars delivered quickly and the chairs were nice. The thing is we decided we only needed 4. When trying to return the one unused, unopened chair they wanted to charge more than 60% for restocking. Really? The web site says that they charge $39 for restocking - NOT TRUE. So if you order from them, make sure you don't want to return it. They claim to have the "Best return policy" HA - Check with AMAZON or your local dealer for that!"

"Stay away from this company! I placed an order for a Herman Miller chair on 12/11 that I was told was in stock. I received an e-mail containing the bill, and my credit card was promptly charged. Then, nothing. I didn't receive a chair, and I didn't receive updates. I've called numerous times and after several runarounds, was told the chair would ship by the mid-to-end of January. I changed the order to get another chair that they said would ship overnight, and that they'd get me the shipping information via e-mail the next day. Then, nothing again. I've now spoken to them several times, but never get a good status. I can't seem to get them to credit my card a refund. So, I've filed a complaint with the credit card company. STAY AWAY! This a a very incompetent company."

"After reading all the negative reviews I was a bit worry about my online order that I placed with them last week. The only correspondence I received was the computer generated order confirmation email. Even thug I specified in the comment section in my online order that I would like to have the tracking number, I never heard back from them. Yesterday I fired an email to their sales dept. to ask for the status of my order (it is been 4 days after placing my order) and once again no reply.
To my surprise, my Aeron chair arrived today via FedEx. The chair is in perfect shape. The take home is Sit4less is a decent company but is really in need of better customer service upgrade. Placing ads on NPR do bring a sense of trustworthiness, but if they do not follow up with good customer service and communication, that is just foolish business practice.

"You may think because they advertise on NPR that Sit4Less is a warm and fuzzy business, but really, the negative reviews are right. They are just terrible in every way. I speak from experience. My wife ordered a chair from them, and they sent the wrong chair initially, then tried to charge us for shipping it back, after we had to repackage the whole thing. We should have learned from that experience but I thought it might have been a fluke, so I ordered a chair from them. The chair didn't fit (not their fault) but then to return it, they kept telling me that FedEx was coming to pick it up for two weeks, and each time I called, they would tell me FedEx is coming tomorrow, etc.

They are just incredibly unorganized as a company. I think their computer system is really cumbersome or outdated or something, because it is obvious that they have a LOT of logistical problems. Plus, they obviously work on commission, so you have to haggle and bargain with them and they always want you to talk to the same salesperson, which means LONG WAITS on the phone (and because their computer systems are bad, you really probably DO want to talk to the same person or they'll screw up the order even more). In short, JUST SAY NO TO SIT4LESS.

UPDATE: finally, after a month to return the chair, FedEx came. But now another month has passed and Sit4Less has still not refunded the money! I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Take it from me, the 10-15% you might save by purchasing through this company is not worth it. Buy locally and actually sit in the chair before you buy it.

"Chair arrived absurdly incomplete. Out of 10 parts that were supposed to be in the package, 3 arrived. The package was apparently previously opened and amateurishly taped back together. I paid over $1000 for this chair. What a disaster!
The customer service was polite and helpful. I will never again order from this company, and I do not recommend it. They are not cheaper than any other reputable office chair dealer. Now I am waiting for a resolution, because everybody left for the weekend.

"I will never ever order from this merchant again.
They do not keep promises, they lie you "your order will be shipped next week" time and again, they will not cancel your order when your are sick with their lies, and after all they will tell you that "database is down, call (-) days later

"I've had three conversations so far with sales reps in almost 4 weeks nobody has followed through on anything except charging my credit card.

I'm filing a dispute through my credit card for a refund if the last call gets no result. They get what they deserve in this case: a horrible review.

"i am no apolgist for businesses that take advantage of people but i feel a need to let people about my experience with sit4less. silly me, i looked for reviews on the web AFTER i placed an order. i was unnerved by what i read. but as things played out, the merchant did exactly what they said they would do. my chair shipped 3 days after order, i received email notification. when i asked a question by email i got a reasonably quick response. phone support was helpful. the chair arrived today, and is exactly what i expected. so i have to say my experience has been very positive. "

"I saw the reviews on this website and tooka chance ordering form them away since I know everyone is always willing to write negative comments and never good.

WELL Surprise!!!! I had an excellent experience. The chair I ordered- Herman Miller Aeron shipped the next day and arrived about 3 days later. It was wonderful. I love it! also, I want to say the customer service representatives are very knowledgeable a yound lady named Debra helped me choose the right chair turns out I needed a lumbar support because of my deep lumbar curve. I would definitely recommend this company to my friends and anyone else!!!!

"UPDATE 08/07/2008:
I got the final refund from this company 8/1/2008. This was after I filed a dispute with the company through my credit card. This is probably going to be the BEST way to get your refund from this company . . . in case you every decide to deal with them. Good luck!




This company has a problem honoring their return policy. They don't return emails, and take forever to pickup your chair!

I requested a return on June 6, and they FINALLY picked up their chairs on July 2. It arrived at their facilities on July 7th, and I still haven't received credit.

I was stupid not to look on this site to check their history. I heard of them on NPR and I thought that would be reputable enough. . . I was wrong.

So now I'm going through my credit card to get my money refunded. It seems this is the only way they care enough to honor their promises.
