"I ordered a Canon Speedlight EX430II for $159 and checked my email this morning and saw the you need to call Skypoint Digital message. I did and they asked me for the 3 digit security code and then proceeded to ask me why I ordered that flash unit and a what camera I was using. I told them it was the recommended flash unit for my digital camera. The salesman then went on to explain that I this flash wouldn't work for a digital SLR and was a big bulky slow flash for a 35 mm film camera. I mistankenly assumed that was the reason the price was so low and he went on to explain they have the correct Canon Speedlight in stock for about $100 more and assuming I had possibly ordered the wrong thing, I told him to go ahead and order that one instead. Went back and got on the computer and it's the exact same flash I ordered and then I clicked on customer reviews and saw this website.
I called within 5 minutes of confirming my order and told them I would just go buy it locally instead and to go ahead and cancel. He told me he couldn't because it had already shipped. I'm like I just talked to you and he argued that I hadn't talked to him but had talked to his supervisor. I'm like I talked to you both and there's no way you shipped that in 5 minutes. He then went on to explain how amazingly fast they were and how pleased I would be at their speed. I then questioned him as my original order being he same thing as the new order and asked him about things like what the guide numbers were since their site offers no specs on what you order. He didn't know but tried to convince me the original one was outdated and this one would work better. I told him I was well aware of the specs on this speedlight and questioned how knowledgeble he was and he wasn't. We got into an issue of returning it after it arrived and he said it would be no problem and never mentioned the first thing about their restocking fee. He told me I would be getting an email soon with my tracking number. I then questioned why their prices were that cheap and asked if this was indeed a new item. He said it was and asked me if I was calling from Alabama. I said yes and he went on to explain that they wasn't shipping it from the Alabama warehouse but had chosen to ship it from the New York one instead which saved me sales tax. I suppose thats why he could ship it so fast too, cause it was in the same state he was in. Also my 10 to 12 day shipping would be cut down to 5 days by not having to ship it from the Alabama warehouse. Ridiculous.
I called my credit card company as soon as I got off the phone and they advised there's nothing they can do until I receive the package and that my card had been charged $269.00. They told me to send it back as soon as I get it and then I would be able to dispute the charge if I wasn't refunded.
It's been several hours since this happened. I have a tracking number and message that says the package was sent but the package doesn't exist when you attempt to track it. I called my credit card and now I don't have the $269.00 charge.
I suppose now all there is to do is wait and see what shows up or if I get the backordered and cancelled message other people have got.
May 4th, I came home and saw that my order had arrived. I decided to open it to see what they actually put in the package. It is not the Canon Speedlight that I ordered but instead and approx $40.00 flash that can be bought off numerous ebay sites. I own the Sony version of this flash and can tell you it's also a rip off at $40.00. I'm stuck waiting a couple hours until I can call Skypoint Digital and blow their ass out and have already called my credit card company. Tracking numbers to their physical address and 16 days of waiting to get this resolved. I will be out the shipping and restocking fees in the end.
Notice: Look up the attorney general for New York and go to the website. In the search engine put in consumer fraud form. Fill it out and return it. The AG office will investigate fradulant companies in their state and will mediate on your behalf to resolve the issue. Enough of us together can put these scamming thieves out of business and maybe even in jail.

"I ordered a canon 7d camera on line after I called and was told that they definietly had them in stock. The next day I was called and told that I should purchase a 50d not a 7d because unless I payed twice the amount they could not get one but if I wanted to I could be put on their list to get one when they came in. I have called many times since because they are still advertising the camera at the same price I thought I could purchase one at but they always say that they just sold out and I must pay twice the price if I want to buy one. This is a bait and swich just to call them because they will not sell a canon 7d for $800.00 as they advertise. You can check for yourself today if you go to their site and try to purchase one.Edward Hanna"
"I saw these reviews right after I placed the order... could not pass up an offer to buy a camera for half the price.
I got the same reply everybody else did a day later... and I went in and placed a few more orders - might as well annoy them. I am sure they are not getting anything out of me, and if they do want to send me 5 cameras - I'll sell 'em on eBay!
I hope this accelerates these people out of business!"
"My first clue something was amiss was when I got an e-mail that I needed to call them so confirm my internet order so they could ship it. I googled them to look at my order again and discovered a bunch of comments online about these guys, so I was wary when I called. Sure enough, I got a professional BAIT and SWITCH, one of the best I have ever heard. I told the guy he had confused me and I needed to cancel until I figured it out. These guys are scammers extraordinaire! The deals are obviously too good to be true. The package I had ordered did not include a battery and some other essential stuff. They should be shut down. "
"I got scammed just like everybody else, the prices are too good to be true and that’s about it. I put in an order and then decided to look at this web site. As I was reading this web site they sent me this letter after refusing to buy a battery for $150.

"WHY DID NOT I READ THESE REVIEWS BEFORE I PLACED MY ORDER??? Bunch of lairs. They sold me Sigma lens $300 overpriced "it is on sale now!instead of $1400 you pay only $700!"Wile making the order I checked the price online-B&H has it for $400.
Chris says" their model does not have DC but one you buy has it". After I placed an order(how stupid!) I called Sigma and B&H and I was told this lens is identical to one from SkyPointDigital.
When I called for return authorization they offered me $150 credit or free 5 years warranty if I do not cancel the purchase. Why $150 ?
"Because anyway you are gonna spend $48 for shipping the item back and we will charge you %15 re-stocking fee so $150 will do and you got a good product!"-They said.
Moreover, they sent me wrong item without any invoice attached. When I asked to send me the invoice they said they will send the new invoice with new item.(!?) Instead of return authorization #they gave me an exchange#.
I am paying for return shipment and hoping to get full refund so I will never need to deal with this company again."
"Complete SCAM. Placed order on 3/29. (First clue) They called me on 3/31 from an unlisted phone number after I placed my internet order to ask for a new credit card number, as their AMX wasn't working. So stupid me gave them my visa. (Second clue) While they had me on the phone, they tried to up sell me hard. I didn't bite. (Third clue) An hour later they canceled my order because the item I ordered was now on back order; the order they just confirmed. I got suspicious, and watched my credit card account. The same day, two random orders from different stores showed up on my Visa account totaling $80. My card was stolen. I immediately had to cancel my card. Lesson learned. $80 refunded from Visa. STAY away from this company. They will only steal your credit card and rip you off. If the price is too good to be true, it is. Don't be a sucker like I was.

"Shypoint is the typical bait and switch internet electronics retailer. They advertise really low price, but they won't send you anything unless they can talk you into expensive accessories. I ordered a Nikon D90 and a Nikkor 18mm - 105 VR lense. I sent them an e-mail explaining that I already had a D50 which had all of the accessories I needed and wouldn't be talked into buying anything else. Afew days later they sent me an E-mail stating the item was on back order. Stick to your guns and don't get talked into the extras and don't believe anything they say. The battery provided by manufactured (they will claim thre is none, but it will be in the sealed camera box, how did they get it in there I wonder?)will be adequate. You don't need the super fast memory card. If they recommend a different lense either it will be a cheaper one (but they won't adjust the price) or an overpriced more expensive one. Don't agree to an extended warranty because they won't even honor the original. If you are in the mood for some major aggravationa nd frustation just place an order. Better yet place an order just to play with them and return some of the aggravation."
"The worst place I have ever had to deal with. I ordered a Nikon d90 from them, I called a couple of days later to find out when my item was going to be shipped.... they tell me the item is on back order. I asked why I didn't get an email telling me the item I purchased was back ordered... they said they sent me an email, I still haven't gotten it. I told him that I needed to cancel the order and would like an cancellation confirmation number. He told me it wouldn't be a problem and he would email me the cancellation confirmation number. Never got that email either. I called the next day to make sure my order was canceled and to get a confirmation number. He said it takes 24-48 hours to get an email, I said okay well can you give me the cancellation confirmation number... he gives me the number. After I hang up I realize that it is my ORDER NUMBER. Aghh, now I have to call again. BIG PAIN... Now ordering it from Amazon.
Fyi all of these sights offer the Nikon d90 saying the item is "IN STOCK", but after calling to verify before I order they are all back ordered. Ridiculous.

"totalprodigital.com = skypointdigital.com!!!! Those two sites are the same ONES!!!! They are even so lazy, that those 2 sites are almost looking like Twins!!! Beware!!!! They don’t have anything. Always backorder and ship from oversea to US! But, by paying more they will upgrade to a US model that is better?!? What the f@#$ that means… I order from totalprodigital and the guy refuses to sell that package (Canon 50D) if I don’t buy is battery package for 150$ more… I just cancel the order!!! I’m looking to see if they hacked my credit card!!!! Big Mistake! Someone should ban those websites!!!!"
"SkyPoint Digital did a bait and switch. I, like others, ordered a Canon EOS Xsi with one lens for 419. THey emailed that I should contact them. They stated that the lens was out of stock but that the (280$) more expensive Xsi "performance package" with a 28-135 and 70-300 mm USM IS lens was available PLUS I could have the 5 year warranty for only 149 and get cleaning every year. The guy seemed friendly but very talkative and pushed his warranty aggressively. and he "threw in" other items. Well I never got the lenses I ordered, just the kit camera. I called to ask about the lenses and he went on about how what I got was better and went on about wholesale vs retail cameras. Supposedly the camera I ordered would have to be programmed etc. so they sent me this one instead, that I would not find cheaper than from other camera stores. He never responded to my repeated - I wanted the performance package. When I said we would return the camera he offered 60$ not to and initially would not give the return authorization until I had my husband call. We had to pay a restocking fee and their supposed insurance fee. I shipped it back to a Shipping Dept in Brooklyn via UPS with insurance and it was half the price of their insurance. We just wanted to be rid of the camera and lost $126 and got Nothing. And that's how they get their money. I hope the Attorney General's office checks this company out."
"Buyer Beware. The same as all other reviews. Con Artists that use Bait and Switch techniques. Beware of the Phrase "Wholesale" vs Retail. According to Canon there is no such thing. Skypoint also told be that if I purchased the "Wholesale" version that it would not be loaded with software/firmware and that it would cost over $400 to get installed. Canon completely disagreed with that statement. Purchased a Canon T2i and wanted a package that included a Canon 70-300mm IS USM lense and they swithed me to another package that included a cheap Sigma lense. I blame myself for that one . Should have known things were too good to be true. I tried cancelling the order and they told me that I could not cancel now and would have to wait until I receive the item and would need to call for a RA # (Return Authorization). They also sold me on an extended Battery for an additional $50 for a total of $199.00 that does not even exist for the Camera. The Canon Rebel T2i should already comes with a Canon battery and charger whether you purchase a kit or with the Camera body alone. They should not have charged me at all for a battery and charger. I tried asking for a refund of $199.00 for the extended battery that I will never receive. Take a guess on the response I received. In addition, there was no battery in the box. Still waiting for battery to operate the camera. I was going to send product back but they informed me that there would be a restocking fee. So much for 100% Customer satisfaction. The Prices that are advertised are to lure you in and when you purchase the item on line you will get a call the following day as they will try to get you to purchase different items to replace the items you purchased because either 1. They will lose money on the item, or 2. Item not in stock/on backorder. BEWARE..BEWARE...BEWARE. Do some research...This same company also operated under the Name "Bingo Camera". Currently submitting the same information and certified letter to BBB and the Consumer Protection Agency. Based on all the reviews about this company something needs to be done about it. I wish I learned of this website prior to the purchase."
"UPDATE (March 21): I did file a complaint with the BBB and contacted GoDaddy. GoDaddy indicated that SkyPoint did have their domain name registered with them but that their nameservers are NS1.HOST25WEB.COM and NS2.HOST25WEB.COM.
I would encourage all of you who have dealt with these scammers to complain to GoDaddy and their nameservers.
LIARS! Complete con artists!!! Lenses made overseas wont auto focus with your camera. Cameras made overseas will be in Japanese and you can't change the language. I have lenses in stock that aren't even released yet because I buy them overseas. Are you getting the picture? Rip off artists. I'm going to report them to the BBB."
"YIKES, wish that I had found this sight before I placed my first order. I too got sucked in my too good to be true price, ordered and confirmed per second e-mail, and then got the "it's been backordered" e-mail. WHAT A CRAPPY Company, don't believe their 5star customer service info on their sight!!!!! RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!!!!! I'm now trying to figure out how to report them to the BBB!!! I'll be watching my CC statement closely for the next few months to make sure that there are no mysterious charges!!!!!"
"This is one of the worst experiences I have EVER had trying to purchase something online. I ordered the Nikon d5000 package for what seemed to be a great price. When I ordered the camera the salesperson tried to tell me that the lens included with the package was an obsolete one that would not even work with this package and was not made by Nikon, he told me Nikon did not even make a lens that was supposed to be included in the package and listed as a Nikon lens by Nikor. So I let him talk me into what he said was an upgrade, but after some checking online I realized I had been ‘upgraded’ to a far inferior lens. But the package was still a good deal, so I left it alone. A little bit later I get an email saying to call and confirm my order so I did. I was then pressured into buying a battery and a charger for over $200 for the pair, I was told that the price was much cheaper than I could get the Nikon for. So I bit. As soon as we got off of the phone I did my research and found I could get the Nikon battery and charger for under $100 for both pieces. I called their customer service back and cancelled the battery and charger. He told me it was no problem and the camera would ship out that day, I asked him AGAIN if they had them in stock and he said they had plenty of them. So I said OK. About 20 minutes later a ‘manager’ called me telling me they were out of stock and they would not get anymore for about 2 months so he was cancelling my order. About an hour later I called back to ask whoever answered if they had any Nikon D5000s in stock and he said yes they had several. So I told him I wanted to bu one and we started the process, when we got to the point where he started trying to pressure me into all these overpriced add-ons, I asked him why I was told an hour ago the D5000 was out of stock and he said you were told that o said yes. He they immediately said “well that is weird because I show we have about 50 of the Cannon D5000 in stock”. I told him no I was ordering the Nikon, he said “oh, I made a mistake, I thought you wanted the Cannon D5000 Point and shoot camera” I then asked him why he was trying to sell me a Nikon lens and battery for the cannon camera? Then I was hung up on….BEWARE!!! these people are in the business of ripping people off!"
