"After only 6 months of use, the telescoping pole broke in half. I contacted the Specialty Pool Products representative that the pole was only covered for 1 month. They lie about how great their products are and then they don't want to stand behind their merchandise. Stay away from this company. Go to Pinch-A-Penny! At least they are a very reliable company. They charge less money and are very reliable."
"We were these people are the biggest scammers and irresponsible people on the planet I give them a one star because I couldn’t give them a -10"
"Main seam on cover separated after 1 seasons use and they want to credit me 40% of original cover price. No more purchases from this company."
"Placed internet order July 4, 2016 with no problems. Received email from Speciality Pool Products (Sara Brummel) wanting me to contact them. I did so and was informed that my order was cancelled because it was considered a "high fraudulent" order. No biggie, I'll take my business elsewhere. (Sarah wasn't smart enough to check my previous purchases I had made in the past. I realize how difficult it is to find someone when all you have is their name and address). I ordered the same items from In The Swim. Curiosity got the best of me because the order number on my original order for Speciality Pool Products did not match the order number on the email I received from Sarah Brummel so I call Specialty Pool Products back to find out exactly what the problem was. As luck would have it, I got to talk to Sarah again and explained why I called back at that I just order from In The Swim only to be told by Sarah that In The Swim was a "Sister" company and that she was canceling that order as well. I told her "FINE" and requested any other "Sister" companies as well that I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH and that I will take my business elsewhere (a local store that prices are a little higher but no hassle) and purchased what I needed. This should have been the end of it. NOT! July 6, I get part of my order from In The Swim and my credit card has been charged for the full amount. I call SPP back AGAIN only to get someone else. I have to explain everything from the start and they kindly tell me that they will send me out a return form for me to send their products back. Told them I was not dealing with them or their products anymore and they had to take care of the issue 100% by themselves. This new person (Sarah C) understood and took care of everything. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE END......NOT! Got home after work on the 7th, the remainder of my order from In The Swim has arrived. I call SPP products AGAIN and again get someone different so now I have to explain all over again my problem. This person makes arrangements for the materials to be picked up because I made it clear I would contribute 0% of getting their materials back. Is this the end, probably not!
BOTTOM LINE - One person, Sara Brummel has caused major issues between myself, SPP and In The Swim because she was to lazy/ignorant to research a customer and their prior purchases. I have spent thousands of dollars in pool chemicals/supplies from SPP and In The Swim and from here on out, I won't waste my time dealing with them all because of the stupidity of 1 person."
"What a rip-off organization!!!!!!!. Multiple calls to correct broken product that was noticed after installation by plumber. They wanted me to return the entire pool filter which would have required another plumber fee. I purchased a repair part from Pinch-a-Penny for $150.00. Specialty Pool Products gave me the run around. Bottom line...rude customer service and not a penny from them. Be aware"
"I just received my order from Specialty Pool Products. Last week I had two filter system parts fail within days of each other. After searching locally, I discovered that the parts would have to be shipped from various warehouses and would require at least one week for delivery. I decided to place my order through Specialty Pool Products' website because of their pricing and the fact that they were one of the few sites that had all the parts I wanted (I also ordered 3 parts which needed replaced due to wear but were still functioning). The order was submitted Sunday, November 16th. Three days later - delivered. The parts are high quality and their pricing was below what I would have paid locally, including their $10 shipping fee. I had such a good experience with this company I felt compelled to submit this review in light of several less than stellar reviews on this site."
"I received a Solar Cover Reel as a wedding gift from my online registry. Unfortunately my wedding guest ordered the wrong size. When I contacted the company to swap out the reel pole only it became a "Who's on First" scene from an old Abbott & Costello Film. I was transferred to just about every department then told I had to send an email. I followed their instructions. All I wanted to do was exchange the pole (on my dime) without my wedding guest knowing what had happened. After several phone calls and numerous emails I finally just said the heck with it - send it back. As exchanging the pole was going to be more expense than buying a whole new reel assembly.
So instead of sending the return authorization number to me, they sent it to my wedding guest!?!?!?! Ugh, I so didn't want them to be involved. My guest didn't know of the month or so of drama so they disregarded the return info. I'm culpable as I didn't contact them again for a 4 weeks - now they tell me that they will give me store credit and that the freight is 100% on me.
So what was a fabulous wedding gift has turned into a nightmare costing me more money than the reel was to begin with.
Pathetic!"
"Disappointed: bought a heavy duty solar cover with a 5 year warranty. It fell apart after three years and when I invoked the warranty, I was told that I had to email a picture of the problem. I did so but did not hear back. I followed up a few weeks later and was told that I had to send in a 2'x 2' piece of the cover. (There was no section that large anymore given how the thing fell apart.) I questioned why the warranty policy had changed suddenly since I last called but they claimed that was always the policy. So they do not honor their warranties and their customer service leaves something to be desired. There are more reputable dealers out there so I recommend that you avoid Specialty Pool Products."
"I placed an order for a pool cover pump on 01/16. In looking at their order tracking system, I noticed that it stated it is only updated every morning at 8am. The next day it showed it as being processed and the following day after that it was listed as being sent to their dropshipper.
The latter suprised me a little bit as the product didn't say anything about being dropshipped and their FAQ page on shipping alluded to the fact that large items are dropshipped. Since it was dropshipped, that meant they had no tracking information for me so I just started hoping it arrived.
The product arrived on Tues., 01/22 and was packaged well (a huge box for a small item) and the product was in good condition.
The only issues I found with this vendor are minor:
- no real-time order tracking system
- state that they only use manufacturer part #'s and don't use their own, but my product had no manufacturer listed and the part # appeared to be one of their own
- shipment tracking is lacking when using a dropshipper
Overall, the product I got is what I ordered, it came in a reasonable amount of time, and the product works."
