"purchased a windows 95 to ME upgrade they had advertised. Was sent a 98 to ME upgrade.
Spent weeks trying to get a response finally I got to send it back.(long story short) Then Ms. Haas says she was going to give a credit. Hasn't happened. Won't answer B.B.B. Rip! Don't Buy!Avoid like plague. "
"I ordered a digital cam from surpluscomputers, the camera did not work, took one week to get a response to the tech support, took another week to get an rma number, finally was able to return it. When the new cam arrived, the new one had the same problems as the first one. This time the customer service did not respond to my emails"
"It's unfortunate to read all the bad posts out there against this company. I'm an avid online buyer of computer related products, as I'm a experienced hardcore computer hobbiest. I've built and refurbished my fair share and then some. I've been purchasing from this company for more than a year now and have been, overall, pleased with them.
However, my last purchase did come with a hiccup.
I purchased a FIC PAG-2130 MOBO, which they advertised as new. Immediate inspection showed a reworked board. Although I tried installing, I never could get an OS to install. After e-mail to RMA and Tech-support, I promptly recieved an RMA and a new MOBO (within 1 week). However, the second MOBO also had a rework spot. Yet, again I tried installing, also unsuccessfully. This time an RMA took over 2 weeks. Furthermore, after a few correspondences with Tech-support proving I KNEW what I was DOING, I was told a NEW-TESTED board would be shipped out. This unsavory act took nearly 4 more weeks. I have since recieved a
GOOD working MOBO, and am very satisfied. I responded to CS and told them of the situation, and the fact I WOULD continue to purchase from them with some reluctance on their MOBO's.
MORAL of the story: KNOW what YOU are doing, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, and have a little PATIENCE.
If companies are out to SCREW people, word will eventually get out and they won't last. We all have had a BAD buying experience or two and it is favorable in sharing this info. But let's not badger or belittle someone unless it is truly warranted."
"This company charges 20% plus shipping if you return a part that THEY claim is ok. I had a MB that kept freezing. I swapped EVERY part. The problem stayed with the MB. After I sent them the MB they returned it to me and have refused to answer my emails asking what they did to test it. I anticipate being stuck with a useless MB and the extra charge."
"Very poor customer service. Item shipped was NOT as described on site. Also guaranteed a rebate, and when paperwork arrived, retailer suggested I commit fraud by submitting a backdated receipt which they provided. Return policy is horrible (Should have checked this first. My fault.)
Avoid."
"I have never had such a hard time trying to get help with the product I ordered. Emails are not answered in a timely manner. If they are too busy to help then they should not even attempt to be in business."
"I heard good things about these folks; after dealing with other places I decided to give them a try even though their ratings weren't great. Great product (barebones, etc.), great shipping, fast, reliable product. Other odds and ends added to order without a problem with shipping. Planning several purchases!"
"About everything these guys are selling is a junk, or close to that. Don't be fooled if something seems to be nicely priced - it won't either partially work, will be incomplete or will have some kind of glitch or possible defect. Also, most of their components and software are absolutely outdated, worth to be sold at Salvation Army or $1 stores...
Their newer products are are priced similarly to retail stores, but carry very short or no warrantly at all; and all sales are final.... Their products are not correctly marked neither, if they say "refurbished", it's most likely plain pull."
"I read all the negative reviews below but decided to take a risk and buy from them anyway because they had a real good deal on some specific products I wanted. I've ordered like 3 times and this is the first time I've had to deal with customer service.
They messed up a bit on the 3rd order (one item didn't match the picture shown for it) but I emailed them and Ray helped me out with a credit.
Generally speaking, the experience pretty much matches the treatment from other surplus places I've bought from. These people aren't frauds, but they are busy and their warehouses are packed and can be a bit messy.
There are going to be mistakes, but the prices are good and there are cool odd items you can't get elsewhere.
Remember you'll be treated how you treat others, so cut people some slack and they'll appreciate it. If you can't do that, buy from somewhere more expensive where reps are payed to kiss behind."
"Thay forgot to ship an item and they send me a deffective one also. No way to contact them - by phone email or fax. First order I placed 6 monts ago, everything went well I didn't attempt to call or email at this time. I made a big mistake ordering again from this fake company. Almost 90% of their "stuff" is defective or outdated thay catch me whit this Symantec rebate offer. There is somethink unclear about this rebate I made over 20 emails called them every day since jan.13/2003 with no success to rich someone. Try to find a product you want to buy somewhere else(pricewatch.com), even if cost more, don't buy from them."
"I This company is a scammer!! I contacted these people numerous times by phone and email with no success. They didnt have time to respond to my correspondence. But, they certainly found the time to credit my Mastercard. I have contacted the better business bureau of Silicon Valley. This company operates under different aliases. This company is also known as software and stuff as well as Intrax Group Inc. This company has so many complaints the Silicon Valley Better Business Bureau revoked thir membership. Avoid this company like it was Anthrax!!!!!!!!! "
"I ordered an Asus A7V133-c motherboard from this company because it seemed to be pretty reputable, seemed to have a pretty good order turn-around and had affordable products. Well, I can't speak for it's reputation or the affordable prices, but they definitely don't know how to contact a customer and tell them that the product they ordered is out of stock. Exactly TWO weeks after I ordered the motherboard, I received an email stating that my order had been cancelled because the item was out of stock. They did reverse the charges on my credit card, but the fact remains, their advertising sucks. If they don't have the product in stock, they shouldn't be advertising it."
" When I first looked at your website I was thrilled to find that you had a wide variety of products available. I did order from you with great expectations. One of the items I ordered was bad. It happens.
However, your Customer Service has been awful. It was very difficult to contact someone in person. Your email only policy is not helping your company at all. I left numerous voice mail and sent emails but got no response.
Now you have charged me a $7 restocking fee on a $35 item that was defective. It is a poor practice to charge someone extra because YOU sold a defective piece of merchandise. It is YOUR responsibility to make sure the customer gets a working product. Unfortunatly, good morals are not common any longer. Screw the consumer because if we loose one, there will be two more to take his place. Get the money and run is all the rage now.
With that said, I will NEVER purchase another item from you or your other companies. I wish I would have researched the Better Business Bureau site before I bought from you. How shamefull it must be to know that other local business leaders thought so poorly of your companys service to kick you out of their organization. How disgraceful!
I will at every chance let people know to be aware of your company. I am a member of numerous computer discussion boards. You can be assured that I will post my opinions in those forums as well.http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=28&threadid=118303
My response to your greed will cost your company much more than the $7 you kept. "
"I purchased a motherboard/cpu kit,it was delivered.on-board sound didn't work.sent it back at my cost.they sent another, again the onboard sound didn't work.I used an add on sound card and gave up on these idiots.Too expensive dealing with JUNK."
"Purchased a fancy wireless keyboard with built in mouse. Great price on pricewatch and shipping estimate matched advertised price. Received order confirmation email and tracking information email. Order arrived promptly, well packaged, and worked great. I just placed the order and have already gotten three advertisement emails from them though!"
