"I found the Surplus Computer web site on Dealnews.com, advertising a product for a very reasonable price, including free shipping. It was a deal that seemed too good to be true, and when I went to their home page, I was right. I was not in the least bit impressed. It looked like a site run out of some overseas flea market, but with that low of a price, and no additional shipping costs, I thought that any loss I might experience would be worth the experiment. I sent in my order and never heard a word from them until this little white box came a week later with my order. This was a trap. They just wanted to hook me into buying more. Well, since I hadn’t lost anything yet, I gave it another try. They did it again to me. After the order confirmation, nothing! Then about a week later, a little white CD envelope come with the software I ordered. I just paid $5 for a program that Best Buy was advertising for $29.95 + tax. This was becoming like the proverbial Burmese Monkey Trap, and I wasn’t going to let go either. Its not easy being as smart as a monkey, but I didn’t let that deter me. I kept on ordering from them until it finally happened. The product I purchased was totally defective, unless I wanted a plastic paper weight, in which case it worked fine. I sent them an e-mail with my complaint and actually received a response and was subsequently given an RMA number. This thing was hardly worth the effort, but I thought I would finally find out what Surplus Computers was made of. After several weeks without a word about what was happening, I wrote the whole episode off and went on with my life. At last I knew that I was right about them all along, until a little white box showed up with my replacement product. I suppose I should be happy with the fact that these little white boxes keep showing up as promised, but I’m starting to get these urges to order something that comes in a “Large White Box.” "
