"I had previously ordered from two other companies, but decided to give Swanson a try because their prices were so good. I live abroad, and order items to be delivered to my kids in the USA, who then bring them to me at Christmas time, thus saving me hundreds of dollars in shipping costs.
After initially accepting my order, Swanson suddenly cancelled it. They said they had a policy of not delivering items to addresses differing from the billing address. Because of this, I did not recieve the supplements I needed. This policy is not stated on their site and their computer system is set up to accept such orders!
They have now volunteered to accept the order to ship to my kids in the USA, but, since Christmas is past, I would have to pay sky-high shipping costs to receive the supplements abroad.
This company is unreliable and unprofessional. I've dealt with three others in the same industry, and never had any problems at all."
"Swanson offered a product I needed at a good price. So, rather than order at a cheaper price from competitors who have proven to be inferior, I opened an account and placed my order. I didn't like it that they limited the quantity of the item I needed to 3 per customer, but I settled for this limitation. I've never seen this type of limitation from any other online retailer.
After placing my order, the receipt I received by email had the wrong address. I called their customer service number and discovered that Swanson's address validator had incorrectly changed my address. Strike 1.
The next day, I received an order shipment notice. A week later, my order was delivered in an envelope by parcel post. Thankfully, everything arrived intact, despite the lowball shipping. Swanson included a coupon with my products to receive five dollars off my next order. Unfortunately, the coupon expired TWO DAYS before it was mailed. Strike 2.
Despite choosing not to receive junk email from Swanson, each day since I placed my order, they have sent me junk email. I have even clicked the "unsubscribe" link in each message and confirmed my status to opt out of such mailings. Today, after receiving my order, I logged in and formally verified my choice not to receive junk email. Since I have no further need to communicate with them, I changed my email address to one I use for garbage collection. Strike 3.
Swanson is a thoroughly mediocre operation. I know they're large and have been around for a long time, but those facts make their uniformly poor performance that much more disappointing. I don't anticipate ordering from them again."

"Customer Service is Friendly. However, my product shipped pretty quickly, then it was "lost" by UPS. I was not notified by either party that the package was lost. I had to contact both Swanson and UPS. Then, it took them a week to research the lost package. When they shipped out a replacement package, they left out half of my original order. It would be worth it for me to pay a little more for my order and actually receive the product within a reasonable amount of time."
