"Please take a minute to read the following Tanga.com scam experiences regarding 2 orders in October and December of 2013. It will save you hours of time.
Tanga has absolutely no business credibility, and no regard for the customers they’ve scammed. They play a shell game with you and then toss back hollow apologies, which is all they’re good at doing. Tanga believes apologies are the only thing necessary to compensate for their screw ups. In fact, apologizing is the only thing that Tanga does well. They use a host of canned apologies set up to send back to customers they’ve deceived, and that’s their business model.

Take a minute and read the following Tanga experience regarding 2 orders in October and December of 2013:
October 10, 2013: ordered a product from Tanga (order #1)
October 28, 2013: 18 days later, Tanga sent an email indicating “There has been a delay on your item. Your order is scheduled to ship out between today and tomorrow 10/28-10/29. You should receive an additional email from Tanga.com by Wednesday 10/30 confirming your shipment and a link to track it. “
October 30, 2013: 2 days after receiving the above email confirming that my order is shipping - Tanga sends another email indicating - they don’t have the item. They are canceling my order, refunding my money, and ….. they are sorry. (Simple as that on their part).
Oct 30-Nov 1, 2013: I write several emails to them demanding some kind of credit for wasting my time and leading me on. They finally agree and offer a $10 gift credit.
Dec 7, 2013: I have this Tanga $10 gift credit now from the botched order #1, and decide to use it today, albeit I don’t really want to order thru Tanga again. Coincidentally, on this day Tanga is also offering a “free shipping coupon code”. So the combination of the $10 gift credit from the cancelled order #1 and the $5 free shipping code brings my total for this order (order #2) to $11.99 . I pay via PayPal.
Dec 18, 2013: 11 days later, I receive the following email from Tanga regarding order #2. “There has been a slight delay on your shipment. Your order is scheduled to ship out between 12/23-12/24. As soon as we have tracking ready, you will receive an additional email from Tanga.com confirming your shipment and a link to track it. ……Thank you for your understanding and your patronage!” Does this sound familiar. But, still no worries.
Dec 19, 2013: 1 day later, Tanga sends another e-mail. They are canceling this order too – they don’t have the item in stock. They simply say they are providing a $10 gift credit and they are refunding me the $11.99. Does this sound familiar? Is this to be believed?
If that wasn’t enough:
a) TANGA has never refunded the $11.99 on this 2nd order they cancelled – they only refunded $1.99. This has still not been rectified. They still owe me an additional $10 which I’ve been trying to get since December 18,2013. They didn’t think I would notice that they shorted me $10?
b) The $10 gift credit that I received from Tanga’s cancellation of my order #1 and the free shipping code available with order #2, were both applied to purchase order #2. Since Tanga cancelled order #2, I lost both the $10 gift card and the free shipping code. Tanga never had any intention of honoring either one of these. But, I want them back. I want that initial $10 gift card back, and I want a guarantee of free shipping for any future order (should there be one)
For your own sake, don’t buy thru Tanga. Long shipping delays are just the tip of the iceberg. Their business practices are juvenile, irresponsible, and careless and they don’t give a dam about customers. Their only business model is apologizing.
It will cost you hours of your time trying to do business with this company -- and you will have nothing to show for it. In my case, after all is said and done, Tanga has STOLEN $10 from me. I never received either one of these 2 orders – they summarily cancelled both of them weeks after they were ordered.
A PayPal case is open for this stolen $10, and my credit card company will be involved as well. Tanga hasn’t responded to my emails sent since December 18, 2013 regarding this $10 loss, but I’m certain, when they do, they will offer profuse apologies, thanking me for my continued support, thanking me for my understanding and patronage, and assuring me that they are treating me like family.
This company is a joke.

"Not impressed! I ordered five t-shirts on Dec. 9th thinking I would receive them in PLENTY of time for Christmas. On Dec. 13th I received an email apologizing that one of the shirts was out of stock and they were refunding my money for that one. I was left with the impression that they were shipping the rest but I guess they didn't because on Dec. 19th I received a shipping confirmation with tracking #. I tried the tracking # several times over the next several days and continually got nothing (just a "shipping info was received" but no real progress). Christmas came and went with no package. On Dec. 28th I got another shipping confirmation email with the same exact tracking #. It is now Dec. 30th and the tracking # takes me to a DHL page which tells me the package is still on the west coast (I'm in New England!) and there is no estimated delivery date to be found. Very disappointed! I will give them credit for cute merchandise and great prices but if you never actually receive the goods then what good is that?!?!?!
UPDATE AFTER receiving the communication referenced below: I did receive the email but it contained the exact same tracking link which *STILL* shows my package is on the west coast. The email says it should progress to the east coast "any day now". As for the special offer - I received a code with no indication whatsoever what it's good for. Is it a percentage off? Is it a free item? Free shipping? What?!?! I appreciate you're trying to respond (I suspect it's required by Reseller Ratings in order to mitigate the heavy negative reviews) but it adds absolutely nothing new to the situation. Once I actually receive my package I will update this review again. Until then, readers can assume it's still not received.
ANOTHER UPDATE: Received package on Friday, Jan 3rd - although the useless DHL tracking number still says it's in California a full 2 days later. Two of the five shirts are missing from the order. I knew about one of them but was further disappointed about the other. The packing slip says both are "back-ordered will ship separately" so we'll see if one or both eventually show up. Overall I'm still dissatisfied with the uber-slow shipping and now the incomplete order.
FINAL UPDATE: The last shirt arrived on Wed. Jan 8th (so I've received 4 out of 5) and the 5th one was cancelled (they refunded the cost to my credit card). So the order is now complete. The only positive thing I can say is that the shirts are nice and the price was right. I guess if one has no concern over how long it takes to receive their items Tanga might be a viable option. "

"I've been ordering from Tanga for years (mostly boardgames) and this December was the first glitch that ever happened. One item that went out of stock was refunded to me with me doing nothing. The second item (attached to the same order) item got fixed within a day of an inquiry. I think the first item being refunded caused them to miss pushing the second item through. They sent an email and then followed up after I received it. It still arrived in time for me to put it under the tree too!"

"I also got burned by the misleading information about delivery time on their site. My order, placed on December 2, was not delivered in time for Christmas. I was assured by there customer service department when I inquired on December 20 that they would arrive on time. Only one of the three shirts that I ordered arrived. I had to seek alternative gifts at the last minute. I no longer need the two shirts that failed to be delivered as promised. I don't want a discount on another order when you failed to deliver the first. Please refund the money for the undelivered shirts. "

"I ordered 6 shirts on dec. 2 and shoud have recieved them within 10 days. I thought plenty of time to get as christmas gifts. Received 1 email on the 21st stating they were out of a shirt which leaves me in a bind because its too late to find a similar shirt online and delivered before Christmas. No response to any of of the emails I sent to try to resolve my problem. Only 3 shirts came by Dec.24. Now what am I supposed to do for Christmas presents? Apparently it's not their problem right? Usually I read reviews but I didn't this time. I feel duped :( I just want my money back."

"Started ordering with Tanga in December, 2013 because of the cool stuff on the site and the good deals. I have place two orders so far and I must say I am very pleased with the merchandise received. I had a minor shipping mishap but it was quickly resolved and I will definitely remain a customer."
"The prices on this site are competitively amazing. Site showed my purchase had shipped on December 5th. On December 18th I had not received anything so I emailed customer service to ask where my stuff was at. Within one hour TangaAdam had responded and said he was not able to check in with their warehouse and asked if I would like to cancel the order. I didn't think my order would get here in time for Christmas Eve so I did cancel my order. Within minutes I received a reply to say he canceled the order and he issued a refund. No stressing! Well I did get my order the day before Christmas Eve. I emailed TangaAdam to tell him I got my order and to charge my credit card again. He emailed back and said it was a gift from Tanga. A Christmas miracle! Definitely a reputable company with fast customer service.

"It's strange that people get upset with Tanga because they missed their ship date or they are longer than 10 days. I consider Tanga as the Big Lots of the Internet. That's a compliment and not a jab as I like shopping in Big Lots too. If I want something quick I'll order from other online retailers especially the ones that use Shoprunner.com's service. If I can wait or if I can live without my order if it gets cancelled, then Tanga is the it store because of their cheap prices. I've had my shares of cancelled orders because the stock went out or the shipping went beyond 20 days. In each case though, Tanga had responded to my inquiries, and if I chose to, refunded my orders ASAP. One more thing, my last two orders got delayed too long because Tanga was moving to a bigger warehouse and they were supposed to be X-mas gifts for my wife. I don't think they were going to make it so I asked them to cancel and refund my orders. They did so promptly. That was a week or week and half ago. Next thing you know they shipped my last order and I just got it yesterday. I asked if they were going to charge me, but they said it is a free holiday gift for being good customer. Now I get to give my wife my original gift to her, a necklace and earring set! Thank you very much, Tanga!"
