"I had been using a ResMed S9 Auto, but it seemed to be malfunctioning recently, after almost 3 years of daily use (too bad, outside of warranty). I purchased a ResMed AirStart 10 Auto to replace it, and I'm very happy with the results!

What's missing: Heated tube, auto start/auto stop. I bought a sleeve for the tube to prevent rain-out, and it appears to be working fine for me. The auto start/auto stop on the ResMed S9 Auto was slightly more convenient than pressing the button on the unit to start and stop, but definitely not a deal-breaker, and definitely not worth the difference in price!

This seems to work better than the S9 Auto ever did, right out of the box. I get fewer AHI events overnight, and my wife said that it is much quieter (although my S9 Auto was malfunctioning, so it could have been louder than usual). I can tell that I'm sleeping better. Also, the 10 series water tank has a constantly visible water level, but on the S9 Auto, you had to open the humidifier, and remove the tank to get a reasonable look at the water level, and often condensation would obscure the water level gauge, making it difficult to read, which also made it difficult to fill to the proper level without over-filling or under-filling. The 10 series has none of those problems.

"I received it quickly.. therse should be a way so that you only get the lid you need. I did not need the clear lid but had no option to delete it. I don't know if it make a difference in the cost as I am on a tight budget. Another one of my concerns that is wasted and thrown away and put in land fills."
