"I purchased a pair of sandals from their web site on a Wednesday and on second thought, I called Friday AM to cancel. It had not shipped but the money had been taken out of my account ( debit card). They told me to use the free return label service (USPS – no tracking) when they arrived. My sense of it was that since they had the money and were obviously delaying shipping far too long AND they didn’t have a tracking number yet that I could either go along with this scam or call my bank.
I was very explicitly told that I would then be BLACK LISTED at 120 retailers if I did that. BLACK LISTED ? Really ? A customer from whom you’ve accepted money and can’t seem to ship the item ?
These are folks to avoid at all cost. Now I’m hammering them for my refund and being told by their phone people to wait 2 days to talk to a supervisor. Pitiful.

"Awful, bought shoes and both were right foot
Now i have to pay for shipping it back from Russia
Really disappointed with the official store.
When i bought boots on ebay and there were problems with size
because of the seller mistake , i've got refund immediately.
"
"I bought a couple of Tshirts from them. The product descriptions, it turned out, were wrong!
I had to return them once I got them. But customer service is pretty.
I like their stores though. "
"I love Timberland shoes and boots, however i do not like their billing methods. I made a purchase of over $200.00, which my bank paid, but Timberland put a hold on over $200.00 in additional funds, even though they had been paid. you can rest assured that i will not be ordering anything else from Tinberland.com."
"This company is going down hill, I ordered a jacket, when it came it's completely different, when I try to return it to their retail location, they wouldn't want to refund the product for me, I had to call out their manager and tell him about their policy for returns, such a hassle to return, would never buy timberland products again. "
"Timberland used to be a really good brand and they still have a few great products. Unfortunately I think that Timberland as a company is not long for the business world. I live in southern California and they used to have several retail stores but they are all gone now except one Outlet Store in Camarillo. We all know that buying clothing and shoes online can be daunting but mostly that's the only way to go with Timberland for now. I just ordered 2 pairs of shoes from them a few days ago and they just arrived. One pair of shoes had a completely different color sole than was shown on their web site picture. When I contacted customer service i got a mediocre response and they basically said "Too Bad". I insisted on looking into it further so see if the shoes I ordered were available. THey promised me a call back from a supervisor. Today I received a basically "form email" that was short and curt generally saying that I was out of luck and "we consider your issue resolved". Considering that Timberland prices are and have always been astronomically high, their customer service is nonexistent, their products are often out of stock and you can only shop them online, I can see why they are struggling. So, sorry to see you go Timberland but you ran your company stupidly and that's how the competitive retail market works, so bye bye."
"After spending an hour selecting products and finalizing my decision, I placed an order. The next day, I received a cancellation email with no explanation as to why it was cancelled.
I feel frustrated by this as they didn't even attempt to placate me with a coupon or at least try to say "we made an error; this item is out of stock".
Poor customer service. I wear Sperry Top Siders and was going to give Timberland boat shoes a try. Never again."
"Cancelled my order, very unprofessional!"
"Just to note that all the people giving timberland.com a 1 star rating are just bitter they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Timberland canceled their orders because they tried to use a fraudulent coupon scheme. These conniving vultures have as much credibility as a person who tried to scam an ebay seller for several items but failed and left negative feedback just to feel better about themselves.
Timberland even offered these greedy trolls a 25% discount and free shipping on a replacement order just ease their whining and crying. They moan that they won't shop at Timberland ever again. Please, Timberland doesn't want their business anyways----these people just scavenge & deceive for a free lunch--that's not a customer, that's a leech.
Anyways, I orders several shirts from timberland.com with their Buy 2 Get 1 Free promotion. I changed my mind on two of them and was able to return them with ease with their no hassle pre-paid postage return policy. And the kicker, they let me keep the free shirt I got from the promotion since I was a regular customer. They also offered me free shipping if I wanted to make an exchange. How great is that. FYI, their boots are top-notch. Have several pairs that bought years ago and I wear them all the time and are still in great condition.
I just wish they would bring their 40% off promotion back. I got tons of bargains from that deal over the years."
"damn store, they should have honor their promotion even if they made a mistake...to save their stupid brand"
"Did not honor their promotion. Figured I found too good of a deal. Told me I ordered a gift card that was not part of the deal for the code I used. A bunch of BS. I order 2 shirts. That's it. Will never shop with them again."
"*************5 Star Shopping Experience***********
I have spent thousands of dollars at this site over the years and have not had a single complaint. I like their clothing style because it is cool enough but not too hip-hop or ostentatious. They have great promotions such as the buy 2 get 1 free deal on tees & polos in combination with 20% off deal over 4th of July. Once they had to cancel an order because of it was out of stock; but they offered a discount & free shipping on my next order.
ATTENTION: The people who are complaining about having their orders canceled are scammers. There was a coupon glitch and these people exploited it like they were holding onto dear life. They made multiple orders and applied a deceitful trick to get free shipping. These are probably the same freeloaders who ranted on for hours for a $7 Best Buy HDTV and then threatened to file a lawsuit. Shame on these people! Get a job moochers and please muster up some morals and class."
"I ordered a pair of shoes marked down from $110 on sale to $49.99. I then used a $20 laborday coupon directly from timberland and placed my order. The next day I was notified that my order had been canceled. These guys at timberland run a shady business. I will think twice about ever purchasing one of their products again! They can't even honor their own promotion and end up wasting peoples time! I looked through their store for an hour looking through various shoes. Found the ones I wanted, placed my order and it was cancelled. Talk about a slap in the face."
"Ordered a Soft Leather Tri-fold Wallet from Timberland. I got a cancellation notice next day without giving any reason. I would not shop or recommend this store to my friends."
"Ordered 2 pairs of socks, order was "cancelled" for no apparent reason.
Will never buy Timberland again, and I will telll anyone who asks to beware of their business practices.
Update: Sent 25% off coupon, made a better deal than before, reordered items thanks for honoring deal."
