"A bunch of clowns are trashing this company because they think Toolking should honor a price mistake for a Makita drill well below cost, which they don't even have inventory to ship if they wanted to. Toolking itself didn't charge people for this order, it took place through Amazon's order system (which has its own guarantees, so regardless these people would be refunded one way or another). Babies could hurt themselves with big boy tools anyway.

I've ordered from Toolking before. No problems. I was also shocked to find the product I ordered on my doorstep the next day. They do truly ship from Denver.

This is a REAL company with a store in Denver. They aren't a bunch basement-dwelling dropshippers.

"I won an auction for a power tool set on eBay from Toolking. I received and email 6 days later stating that the item was out of stock and it would be three weeks before it shipped. Toolking had 1/2 dozen or so auctions up for the same set, ending before and after my auction. Obviously Toolking is simply collecting orders than buying in bulk from the wholesale supplier. This is fraud. Do not do business with Toolking. Toolking is dishonest. Still fighting to get a refund 2 days after canceling order, used Paypal...should be instantly."

"Bought a New Fein Vacuum from them. The box came with envelope with hand written note and broken parts inside.

So why would they send a Vacuum with known broken parts ...? They should just send it back to manufacturer. In any case, its not right. I kept the vacuum since its working but it really leaves a bad taste in your mouth about if your really getting what you paid for.

"I ordered two factory reconditioned nail guns with three day shipping. One nailer was in its original case, and looked unused. The second did not have its case, and had some minor scratches, from maybe being used once. They were both in excellent condition considering the discount for being factory reconditioned. The items shipped the same day I ordered them.

Some very minor problems which should not prevent you from purchasing from toolking - the web site showed an order status of pending, even after the first delivery attempt. They were shipped by DHL with a signature required in person. This meant they would not leave them at my house. After two days I had to drive to the DHL office to collect them myself, and they only give you a half hour window when they are open. This type of shipping gives the user no choice - I would prefer to be able to sign the form, and have them leave the items.

The shipping was a real pain, but savings on reconditioned tools was worth it.

"I was leary after reading the reviews. I KNEW that I was ordering a Bosch RotoZip REFURBISHED tool. The sales clerk on the phone was helpful. She indicated that sales change on Tuesdays. I got the same tool that cost $140 + tax at Home Deopt for $57 (but it did not include the jig saw attachment that is worthless anyway). The UPC/package deal was different than Home Depot and there is slightly different one at Lowes. This package only seemed to be available online.

The box came in Bosch REFURB printed material. It had "factory refurb" all over the place and it was hot-stamped into the tool itself.

The shipping was quick, the price was low (by almost $100 cheaper) and the unit shipped the day of or after my order.

The tool was in flawless condition. Nothing appeared to be used even. I got a great deal and will be willing to buy other light powertools from ToolKing in the future.

"I ordered a finish planer (Delta 22-580) and it arrived within the time frame they advertise. A couple days after I received it I finally had time to open it and found it was damaged. There was a dent and crack on one of the cast iron corners of the base. I notified them of this a day later; and the day after I notified them received acknowledgement and instructions to put it our for pickup and that. So far so good, and they definitely had the best price. I'll update this note when they (Tool King and UPS) come to resolution. They say UPS will render a decision within 2-5 days and once they have that information they will release the re-shipment of my replacement planer."

"Ordered a reconditioned belt sander. The sander was beat to hell...not so much reconditioned as destroyed and rebuilt. The belt alignment was off and the plate it rides on skewed. I sent multiple emails and requested RMA. No response one month later. Customer support is absolutely nonexistant. The only reason they are getting even 2 stars is that they actually filled and shipped the order."

"Placed order online. Paid extra for 2 day shipping. All items appeared to be in stock on their site. Called store to confirm with my order number and was told that all items are in stock and will ship in 24 hours. Just received package with only one of the 2 items. Called store and was told that the second item was not in stock and will be shipped to me in another week. Initially they refused to provide a refund and wanted me to first refuse the shipment even though the item has not yet been sent. Finally, after 30 minutes on the phone they agreed to credit me for the item that was not sent. "

I ordered a 24" dovetail machine, choosing them over amazon because of a 3 dollar price difference. That was a mistake, Tool Kings lead times from order submission to shipment are unacceptable. When contacting customer service, you only get very generic answers, no one really makes any real effort to make sure that your order is taken care of. I have never had any product that wasn't on backorder take even close to this long ordering from amazon. This is my last order from Tool King. After waiting 7 days for them to ship it, I canceled the order. The reply was that they would see what they could do. 24 hours after I told them to cancel the order, the shipping information was RECEIVED by UPS, and the item shipped shortly after. I had already ordered this item from someone else, and needless to say I rejected shipment from Tool King. Now 2 weeks later, I still haven't got a clue where the $400 is that I gave them. I just contacted them, and they don't really know either, all they would tell me is that normally this is resolved in 3-6 days, and to just give them a couple more days "to get it all sorted out".

"All the negative reviews here about this place are accurate. I'm sure some people actually get their orders eventually. I bought a welder on Dec 21, it's now Jan 06 and my order is still "in process". I've called twice and emailed 3 times. I've been promised to be called back and of course haven't. The webpage still says "In Stock and Ready To Ship" LOL! They don't answer their emails and there is no way to cancel an order once it's been "Processed". BTW "Processed" means they charge your card immediately whether or not it's actually in stock. Don't order from these guys, it's just not worth the frustration.

Update: Jan. 11 2006
They finally admitted that the welder was on "permanent backorder" and that it probably would never ship. I had to call them, they never once even attempted to call me or email a notification. I am still waiting for them to refund my credit card.
