"A buyer bought an expensive pair of earrings from me, I mailed it out and after a week I get an email saying they want to return it... Well they returned the item with the tag cut off, the earring which was tassel and fabric was totally destroyed. Bent and frayed and pieces falling out.
I am so upset, and reaching out to the company has been useless, they don't care, they respond in short indifference.
Now I have a product I can not re-sell, so I lost $355 plus the cost of shipping. No one will help me solve the problem...but hey at least the buyer got to enjoy them for the week to the fullest.
I wish I could attach images here for all to see.
This website is simply not safe for sellers. "
"Overall the site is worth checking. I generally find good deals. You have to scroll through a lot but there are some. "
"Tradesy's return policy completely protects the buyer and the seller is treated like a criminal even before the return is processed. The buyer can return the item for ANY reason while the seller hopes and pray their merchandise is returned in the same condition it was shipped. In my case, it was returned trashed and damaged and I had no recourse.
I sold a brand new with tags rare caftan dress from Dubai on Tradesy. My item was returned to me jumbled up in a knotted ball. I video taped the opening of the return package. It is riddled in wrinkles that will never be steamed out and a HUGE snag of the garment in the front of the garment (I sent Tradesy these photos) where the rhinestone starts across the chest. This is permanent damage and must have been caused either while the customer was trying on the dress carelessly (the customer told me their reason for returning was it was too small, so maybe she stretched it?) or while jumbled up haphazardly in the bag like trash. The item also smells like perfume.
I always video tape my items before I place them in the boxes to be shipped. I included it in my complain to Tradesy (which wasn't easy to launch), as well as photos which included care instructions that I included in the package for this delicate garment which I steamed before I mailed it to get out just a few wrinkles.
I’m appalled that Tradesy allows its customers to treat garments like total trash. They responded basically saying they try to be fair to the buyer and seller and supposedly checked the item (which means THEY are the one who squished the dress into the bag like trash??) and offering me a $20 credit or $25 towards a purchase!!! How insulting! I responded that this dress is deemed damaged and unsellable and offered to send it to them and in return, for them to refund me the sale price. They said no and offering a 9% commission off a future sale!!! Can you believe that? I am taking down all my items and never ever selling with these scammers again. If this is how they treat their sellers -- their bread and butter, I never want to give them my business again!"
"Terrible all the way around for sellers, no seller protection at all. The buyer is believed 100%. Once seller sends item to buyer, the buyer has 4 full days to decide if they want to keep your item before returning the item for full refund. Tradesy then determines the buyer is right and return the item to you on day 10. If however the buyer keeps the item, payment is not made for a full 30 days. Then if you want funds transferred to your bank, they keep an additional 2% transfer fee on top of the 20% commission. There is no reason why a buyer should hold on to your item beyond 3 days after receipt. On day 4, Tradesy needs to shut it down and pay seller, not give buyer ample opportunity to wear and tear your item the decide they want to return it. The other platforms, Mercari and Posh only give buyer 3 days to keep or return. The seller is paid on 4th day, none of the 30 day crap. I've already stopped selling, it takes too long to get paid, Tradesy can return your item to you if they feel they can't make money on it, telling you that your item is overpriced. It's too much for no seller protection. "
"Worst company ever! Don't trust Tradsey, there are better companies to do business with like vestiare collective and the real real "
"I purchased a brown mcm bag set and my purse is FAKE I spent 598.20$ on this purse and I’ve been running around with a FAKE purse all this time... my gold buckles are now silver and I have only wore the purse 3 times since I purchased off Tradesy website... I’m so **** off because they only give you 4 days to return something that shouldn’t have to be returned PERIOD... how in the hell do you run a business selling FAKE **** .... I need my damn money back because this is so unprofessional I need to sue y’all **** ."
"This company will be out of business soon based on their business practices as you will read! Just read the reviews and you will quickly decide not to do business with them! Whether you are a buyer or seller look elsewhere for similar companies.
I have been buying and selling high cost Louis Vuitton handbags for years and have never had a worse experience with any other company like this. It should NEVER take 30 days to receive payment for something you have sold!!
Do NOT do business with this company believe the reviews!!!"
"IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME, DONT BUY HERE.
i bought a furla bag past monday and they said it was supposed to be delivered by wednesday, the tracking code said it was delivered but it WAS NOT.
THEY PLAY WITH YOUR TIME AND MONEY. THEY THINK YOU ARE A CLOWN.
they dont respect their costumers. they said they are not making a refund for a lost order. i mean??? WHAT??? they already charged the large amount of money in my credit card and they plan to remain this claim like this.
i dont recomend this company. if you want to buy good brands for less go to www.6pm..com"
"Scammers!
Do not buy anything from them!
They took my money sold me fake Chanel shoes wrong size and will not give me a refund!
Why buy from them when there are amazing sites with full money back guaranteed! The people working there are extremely rude!"
"I Have had the worst selling experience on Tradesy than anywhere else, and I sell on multiple platforms. It is really unfortunate because they did really well in the beginning. But then they increased the selling fees from 9% to more than double at over 19%.
As if that was not bad enough, They increased the time it takes for your shipping kit to be sent out, they increased the time for your buyers to decide if they want to keep the item or not, the time for your funds to be available for withdrawal, and even after your funds are made available, they take up to 7 whole days to process the transfer.
I have to call EVERY TIME I make a sale because I once waited two weeks for my funds to be made available and the associated I spoke with had no explanation other than they must have forgotten to release the funds.
I spoke with both an associate and a supervisor who told me my funds will be in my bank account either yesterday or today, only for me to call after my funds were not available and be told the funds were just released yesterday and so I will PROBABLY not receive my funds for another two days.
I find this very deceitful and the fact that they need to devise so many different ways to hold on to peoples' funds is not reassuring at all.
If they do not change their business practices, I don't have much hope of them doing well in the future. I am not surprised items don't sell as quickly as they used to. I definitely will not recommend buying or selling with Tradesy and once I finally receive my funds, I will be deleting my account."
"I have sold a few items on Tradesy. I am a person who has sold on Ebay for 20 years so I have working knowledge of selling on line and being a reseller. One time a buyer returned an item because it didn't fit. According to Tradesy the item was "not as described" I immediately inquired as to why. Tradesy claimed that my new item with the tags was actually "worn" and that the label was glued into the item. Not true. I challenged Tradesy on this and they recanted the story and took the item back from me and paid me out. I was concerned but continued to list on this site. A few months later I sell a pair of Prada sneakers. Suddenly I receive an email that the sneakers were returned by the buyer and Tradesy is now returning them to me because I "sold them over market value" HUH?! The buyer BOUGHT them. These shoes are NEW in the box. The buyer bought them for 50% OFF RETAIL. What is this "over market value"?? Well Tradesy won't quantify their explanation of this. They will tell you a story but cannot back it up. They claim they do research and come up with a number. When I asked for this data (ex. what this exact shoe has sold for) they told me "we cannot share that information with you" HUH?! This is just a loophole they are creating to take back items from the buyer and NOT honor their policy that if an item is returned that they take ownership of it as long as the item is properly described. This is a SUPER shady and unethical company. No transparency. There are a lot of other sites that do it better. Actually it worked out as I took the sneakers along with other items to FASHIONPHILE and got MORE MONEY from them! Seriously. Don't deal with Tradesy and their double talk. Go to their competitors because they are doing better business. No one needs Tradesy!"

Complaint Description:
Customer believed she purchased a counterfeit ring from me & Tradesy issued the buyer a refund after she wore it for a month. Ring was & is authentic Purchased a counterfeit David Yurman bracelet from Tradesy, an in house closet, and they retaliated. I provided proof and uploaded photos for Tradesy to look at, and they got a third party involved to authenticate the counterfeit bracelet so that they wouldn't have to take responsibility and be held accountable. After I had purchased the David Yurman bracelet, I contacted the Tradesy in house closet and asked for them to upload the hallmark. I was told it was too late because the purchase had already gone through. I was issued a full refund for $378.00 and the Tradesy in house closet re-listed the counterfeit David Yurman bracelet for $1612.00. Tradesy is knowingly recycling counterfeit goods that have been returned back to them on their website. -------------------------------------------- I list on multiple websites. I listed an authentic 18k John Hardy ring on PoshMark for $450.00 and sold it on Tradesy on April 29 for $366.25. The buyer on Tradesy felt like she didn't receive a substantial discount because she saw my ring listed on PoshMark for $450.00. She contacted Tradesy to return the ring, but ended up changing her mind. I told the buyer that she had 4 days to contact Tradesy and the Tradesy / buyer stated that she knew. The buyer followed up and sent me 2 emails stating that she loved the ring and was going to keep it. A month later, the buyer contacted me and said that the ring was counterfeit, she doesn't make money and the ring was probably all profit anyway. Sounds like buyers remorse to me. I was unaware that Tradesy accepted the return a month after the sale. Tradesy has a policy that all returns must be made within 4 days. June 20 @ 1:09 p.m. I received an email from Tradesy stating that the counterfeit David Yurman bracelet had been misrepresented and that I would receive a full refund. 2 hours later, Tradesy told me that they were returning my authentic John Hardy ring back to me after the buyer admitted to wearing it everyday for a month. So of course the ring is no longer being returned back to me in the mint condition that it was shipped out. Tradesy told me that they would reimburse me to have the ring reconditioned. I think that they mean refurbished. After the ring was authenticated by Tradesy, it should have been returned back to the buyer. I have a jewelry collection consisting over 200 items that are organized neatly and stored. I started buying and reselling jewelry since 2012 for a marginal profit. Some items sell faster than others. I still have some items from 2012 that haven't sold and are in mint condition. I don't know of a reputable jeweler in Fresno who refurbishes jewelry. The folks of Fresno do not wear jewelry. Tiffany (Tradesy) Jun 21, 11:18 AM PDT Hi France, We completely understand your frustration in this matter and see how the transaction is confusing and would like to clarify the reason your item was returned to you. You are correct that the item was not returned initially and you were paid for the item, however if a buyer has concerns about authenticity, we do accept the item back at any time after the return window has closed. We apologize that the interaction with the buyer was not pleasant and can see from the conversations that the case was escalated. Under normal circumstances we would be able to relist your item and release your earnings for the sale, however since your listing photos are from 2017 we cannot confirm that the condition of the item had not changed since the time it was listed to the time it was sent to the buyer. Unfortunately, it was determined that we could not relist your item so we have since reversed your earnings. At this time, your item will be returned to you with the original appraisal and packaging. If you would like to have the ring reconditioned we can certainly reimburse you for the cost with a valid receipt. We know this is not the experience you wish to have a seller but please contact us once you receive
Your Desired Resolution:
A full refund for the amount of $293.73. I did not keep my receipt for the cost of shipping that I paid out of pocket because over 45 days had lapsed. I do have photos of the ring that I posted in the listing. In so many words, Tradesy has accepted responsibility. The ring is authentic but has more wear and tear than mentioned in the listing because the buyer admitted to wearing it for a month. Therefore, Tradesy stated that they would reimburse me for the cost to have it reconditioned. I stated in the listing that the ring had scuffs and was gently used so that the buyer would know that she was not buying a brand new ring for $366.25 that she could resell for $800.00 the following day. I'm a disabled veteran, and I rarely get out much because I can't deal with the public never mind a jeweler.
This case will be reviewed by a complaint specialist at the Better Business Bureau, and then forwarded to the business for their response. It is our policy to allow the business 30 working days to respond to your complaint. You will be notified when the business has responded."
"Making a seller wait 21 days for their earnings from a sale is absolutely ridiculous!!!!! No other selling platforms utilize this dumb, absurd policy. I will find another platform to sell. Also, I've purchased Louis Vuitton bags and later found out they were counterfeit so they don't really verify authenticity as they state they do. BEWARE!!!
Never, ever again, will I do business on Tradesy.com. I recently sold 2 Louis Vuitton bags, one was sold May 16th and delivered on May 20th, it is now going on June 7th and I STILL HAVE NOT received my earnings for that one. The 2nd bag was sold on May 17th and delivered May 28th, I am STILL waiting for my earnings for that bag as well. But as for the first bag, it has been 3 weeks since the bag was sold, and no earnings received at all. All the while, the individual has been using this bag and depreciating the value and I still haven't received my earnings. If you want your money very soon after selling, I absolutely DO NOT recommend using Tradesy. To make someone wait this long for earnings from a sale is unethical, unscrupulous, immoral, and absolutely ridiculous!!!"
"I purchased a Kate spade bracelet with a vendor name seaside beauties and the description stated that the bracelet was new with tags but when I received the bracelet it didn’t have no tags and it didn’t look new. When I contacted the vendor they stated that I was being dishonest and they were going to call Tradesy on me. How am I being dishonest and the description that you wrote about the bracelet was not how you described it. This is ridiculous "
"Took a VERY long time for the seller to ship my bracelet. "
