"This was an order was from the RedTag division of U-Bid. The shipping time was extremely slow and customer service non-existent until I posted a public complaint on their Facebook page. Also - the item description was wrong but it is not worth shipping it back - will not buy from them again!



As the response from U-Bid states - yes they did finally respond to me but not until I publicly complained to them on their Facebook page but until then my complaints fell on deaf ears.This latest post on their Facebook page by me sums things up quite well:



"Buyer Beware II - It seems my original post was removed so I will re-cap. I ordered a set of 24 solar lights on Sept 25,on the 26th the status went to shipped and sat there for a week per the UPS site as status of not shipped and just a shipping label was created.I contacted customer service a number of times and only got an automated reply once. I only got action when I posted a complaint here and finally got my lights today - October 11th. Now to the next problem - the description clearly stated that it had both color changing and bright white LED's and the boxes say so also-however it is strictly color changing with no bright white led which is what originally sold me on the deal . Ok - I understand things can get marked wrong and be sold off at discount but not telling people this in the item description is what I consider false advertising. This post will no doubt be removed but I have shared my reseller ratings review on my Facebook page for my friends to see and encouraged them to share it on their pages . Thanks to the lack of customer service,SLOW shipping and false description this was my first and last purchase from Red Tag."

"C122I have been doing business with ubid for just a short time.Was very pleased with all my purchases.I had nothing but positive reviews for ubid until today 10/10/12 when they canceled my account. The reason I was given was because my shipping and billing adress was the same as my brothers.His account was canceled because someone stole his credit cards.This makes no sense to me that I get penalized for something that I did not do.I paid for all of my purchases with my own money but I got canceled anyway.So people be warned that if you have the same address but different accounts and someone steals your credit cards you will be penalized to."

"had my credit cards stolen and reported to ubid. they canceled my account and refuse to allow any more purchases. now they will not allow me to even sign on. also cancelled my brothers account for no reason other that we have the same address. i had bought a lot of items before this happened. had good reviews for ubid until now"

"I am a huge fan of UBid and have been purchasing from the auction site off and on for nearly 8 years. I enjoy thier bidding process and I think the selection is good.

Problems / Challenges for UBid:
1. For this purchase, I was bidding on what I thought was an IPad 3. The description of the IPad that I was bidding on was for an IPad3, not an IPad 2, and I tried to contact UBid prior to the close of the auction to confirm what the IPad model, but I couldn't get through the chat system. After the auction, I contacted customer service, and she later confirmed that UBid made a mistake and offered to cancel the purchase. I kinda knew that this was the case, but I accepted the IPad 2 anyway. Again, I like UBid and I don't want them to go out of business. (2 stars)
2. Once I got the IPad, I realized that it was previously used. It had the email of the previous owner with his email still on it. So to make it useful, I had to figure out how to do a full factory reset for the IPad. This research and doing the reset was a lot of work, and I really don't think I should have had to do it. This should have been done prior to the IPad being sold. (1 star)

Good Stuff
1. Selection -- I love the variety of products, brand names, and number of auctions of the same type of product. (4 stars)
2. I like that someone called me to confirm the purchase and mailing address. (4 stars)
3. Very nice customer service staff. (4 stars)

Scoring my experience with UBid is problematic because I love the site, and I would buy the site and company if I could. So I am giving this purchase a score of 3 stars.

"I was somewhat hesitant to purchase from UBID being unfamiliar with them and having run across their site quite by accident. That and of course being use to Ebay. The experience turned out to be a pleasant one though. I bought a mfr refurbished desktop pc that still had that new pc smell upon arrival. I thought the packaging was a little flimsy. And the fact that it arrived with one of the side panels dislodged and a small indentation on the inner case frame attests to that. The indentation is not visible once you put the side panel back on though. But it obviously got banged around real good by Fedex. Better packing is a no-brainer for an item such as a pc. UBID is not entirely at fault though because ACER clearly did the packaging as evidenced by the box it came in.

I don't know what was the reason for the refurbishing but what ever it was they sure fixed it. The machine is lightening fast and runs flawlessly. There were no outward blemishes or scratches. Hey UBID, by this time you've got to know that we are all displeased with the shipping costs. You've had enough complaints about that now that you should take a look at your processes from top to bottom and improve on them. $4 for printer ink and shipping cost of $14? For that I might as well go to Office Depot. I take off one star for that and the OVERTIME. I'd do planning on shopping Ubid again.

"It was the most disasturous experience I had in my life. I got a defected item and they never answered my claim until I called them numerous times. Returning delivery price is unbelievably high. Why do i have to pay $100 dollar and pack your broken $200 TV to receive MY MONEY back? Does this make sense? I really don't understand. You guys are practically blocking my returning method. Probably I will never gonna buy anything in the future. "
