"I found what I needed at a great price. Navigating through the website to find what I was looking was also very user friendly. The processing and checkout process was great. The sales rep I spoke to was very helpful and did his best to understand what I wanted and guided me in the right direction on the website to get what I wanted. "I went looking for a hard to find IBM Laptop part, and I came across upgradebay.com - they had the exact part I was looking for and the price was right. Usually I go looking on ebay first, but No one had it - I am usually a bit hesitant about ordering from vendors I normally do not do business with (IE: Amazon, Newegg, Buy.com) but this company was great, and I am glad I bought the part from them - communication was excellent and they kept me informed on the status of my order. "Was somewhat leery on ordering from this site since they didn't list much of a description and no warranty information. But, they had decent prices on hard to find parts. On Google Products, they had the power supply listed as "NEW", but was really a system pull. Inspected the power supply when I received it and it did look in excellent condition with no obvious dust, which would indicate it was used. Contacted Upgradebay about the part to ensure it was "New" and was told it was a system pull and was not used. I like that they have a toll free number and you can talk to a real person, not just some email address. Also, they did send me the Fedex tracking number and shipped when they said they would. So far the experience has been very good and I would consider buying from them again. Next time, I will call to get a better description of the item before I order it. Warranty is only 30 days, but the person I talked with said he would work with me if I did have a problem past the 30 days. Sounds pretty fair to me."

"BUYER BEWARE!!! I was told over the phone that I was ordering a brand new Samsung dvd player but that it would come in "bulk packaging" which they explained to me just meant it would be a white box instead of a regular retail box because it's how Samsung ships bulk quantities to companies. Was told it would have full manufacturer's waranty, instruction manuals etc. Basically a brand ne player that would just come in a white box. When I received it it did not come with any instruction manuals, no warranty card, it was scratched on top and had dust around the display window and was abviously a factory refurbished model AT BEST!! Product was listed as NEW but was REFURBISHED. To return I would need to pay a 20% restocking fee. I have been looking at other sites to report this company's FRAUD. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!"

They shipped us defective boards claiming Factory Original. However, the boards came in missing parts.
They told us to get the missing parts or replacment boards but it never happened. When we are for return and refund. They asked for 20% restocking fee.

"I do not recommend this seller.
i was looking for an item and saw that their site listed its available.
One week went by and i didnt hear anything. I called in and they said they have to verify with the supplier. 2 days later still nothing
had to call several times till finally they said they cannot provide the item. yet they didnt take off the site.
few days later they updated the price where it went up 3 times up.
so i called in and they said they dont have as well.

their customer service is bad. they are courteous however it take lots more when you run a business.

"I called in and ordered a Motherboard, which I was told was in stock and would be shipped out that day. A week plus a few days later part not received so I called back and they told me that it would go out that day and they would email me an tracking number. I got in to work the next day and no tracking number, so I called. The rep then informed me that he could do nothing and only the sales rep that took the order could help (this was an online order). After talking with sales rep he then proceeded to hang up on me. I of course called back and got a gentlemen who told me part still had not been shipped and he promised to ship out that day, but for the overnight shipping I had to pay extra for their fault!! Very frustrating company to deal with!! Finally got the correct part but took over 3 weeks!


****I would like to revise a little on my review. Since this incident, I have been told that they did not charge me extra for overnight shipping for their error. Josh has been apologizing for the issue and takes full responsibility for the miscommunication on their part. I appreciate him working with me to make it right and hope that the other employee is taking a class in customer etiquette.

"Ordered a CPU (AMD Phenom II X4 910e) from this seller. It was the best price I could find, I figured it was an oem. Two days after placing my order, I receive an e-mail from them stating "At this time we are unable to process your request. This part is currently unavailable through our supplier. Your order will be canceled today". The same day I get my e-mail, they raise their price by a third. It's obvious that they just didn't want to honor their advertised price, and compound the insult by lying about it's availability.

UpgradeBay, called me at home (I hate when any company calls me at home, that's why there's e-mail) and told me that the oem item is no longer available from their previous wholesaler but that retail (boxed) is available. And in an effort to make things right would sell it to me at cost. Although this is still $40 more than the OEM and well above what I budgeted. I took the offer. Although, I am still peeved about the additional cost of the "bird in the hand", I do appreciate their efforts to appease their comment posting customers.

"My last purchase with this company was very unprofessional and unreliable. I placed my order Thursday over the phone because I wanted to make sure they had stock. I was told that the part I needed was available and would ship out that same day. When I checked for tracking information on Monday afternoon, I had an email advising me that the part was backordered but they could provide it from another source for $200 more. I sent an email requesting a courtesy discount or free overnight shipping...no response. I called the sales person that sent me the email, his wife answered, said she'd give him the message and I'm still waiting (Tuesday afternoon). I do not recommend anyone purchase anything from such an unprofessional company. I will never make another purchase from them again.

***Addendum***

After submitting my review, I was contacted within 15 minutes, given my original price and my product was shipped overnight. I will accept their apology and in my opinion, sufficient effort was made to right their wrong.

"I recieved my order as promised from Upgradebay.com but am very disappointed that the HP/Compaq server was the refurbished model of the same server. The item was represented as new on their website. Had I known I was buying a refurbished item, there were other more cost effective solutions. We will not be purchasing from them in the future. Call them to be sure that the item is NEW if that is what you are looking to purchase!

-Update
I was contacted by UpgradeBay.com and they apologized for my being shipped a refurbished model. They stated that the product they ordered from the supplier was not the same as the one that was shipped. I was offered a discount on the product bringing the price down to a reasonable level for the refurbished product recieved. I applaud UpgradeBay.com for taking the time to resolve this issue and make a former unhappy customer more than willing to purchase from them in the future.

I ordered a hard-disk for around $400. The next day I get an email saying my credit card has been declined. I phone my credit card company and they tell me I've been charged around $3,500.

Thinking that this must have been a mistake that can be easily corrected, I tried to get hold of Eric Yniguez from upgradebay, but he doesn't bother to respond to emails or voicemail messages.

Quite a shocking lack of service and inability in getting the basics right, avoid at all cost.

Comment on feedback received from upgradebay.com:

My main concerns were:
1a). My credit card was charged multiple times. It returned an error on the side of upgradebay.com. However, according to my bank the transactions were pending, my credit limit was therefore reached, and I couldn't do any further transactions until the seller (upgradebay.com) cancelled the transactions.
1b). The response from upgradebay.com was that on their side the transactions never went through, and they retried it in case it might have been a temporary error.

2a). According to my bank I had to get hold of upgradebay.com to cancel the transactions. However, I couldn't get hold of Eric via email or voicemail.
2b). According to upgradebay.com one of the staff members had personal problems and were swamped with work and could unfortunately not quickly respond to my queries.

So in summary, I had a bad first purchasing experience, but I accept that technical errors can creep in. The personal response from Shafiq from upgradebay.com however helped to explain and resolve the issue, and I appreciate it.
