" I ordered a fan for a 5 year old IBM laptop on June 1, 2010. FedEx ground was delivered on June 7th. Unfortunately I was shipped the wrong part.
I tried calling the telephone number, only to get a loud squealing noise. I used their website form to request an RMA. I also emailed trying to find out if they have the correct part.
I received their automated RMA Receipt Confirmationþ on June 8th, stating I should give them 1 or 2 days to get back to me.
On June 10th, 2 1/2 days after the RMA request, I still hadn't heard from them. I finally got through on their telephone system, only to get an answering maching. I left a message that included the order number and my telephone number.
I have placed an order with another vendor for the part already. I would have appreciated the right part, a more timely RMA and someone that answers the phone when their support number is called.
-------------
To Upgradebay.com; I attempted several times with no luck to call on the telephone.
I placed an order on 6/2/2010 for IBM 26R8028. I was shipped IBM 91P8535.
These parts are not interchangeable. 26R8028 is for G41 2881, 2882 & 2886 series. 91P8535 is for all G40 models except the 3GHz model.
Can you tell me if you have the correct part available? I've attached several images for reference.
I've already requested an RMA for the wrong part sent.

Edit (9-24-10) In fairness to Upgradebay.com:
I ordered another fan from a different vendor & also recieved the wrong part. The parts interchange manual lists the part incorrectly, so shipping the wrong part was not Uppgradebay.com fault.
I recieved the RMA refund credit from Upgradebay.com in a very timely manner after I was finally able to contact them."
"I enjoyed working with UpgradeBay.com. The salesperson was professional and attentive. I had special requests to the delivery of my order that were met. I will use them in the future."
"Great experience. We needed a server to replace a down unit, and quickly. I found the part I needed at upgradebay, placed the call, and worked with Josh Thomason. He was able to check stock, place order, and verify working condition, and make the overnight shipmnent cutoff time. We placed another order with him the next day, and will again in the future..."
"Being on the East Coast i was in need of overnight P1 shipping of a video card for a down medical system. UpgradeBay was very helpful in finding and delivering the card on the next AM shipment i needed.
My many thanks.
Mike"
"Ordered a replacement video card for a laptop and received no confirmations. I called a few days later and was told someone would get back to me. A few days later I called again and was told that the hold up was on shipping but now its fixed and should be shipping out same day. I called again the next week and the order was still on hold and nobody knows why. I was told someone would call me to follow up but decided its not worth the headache and cancelled my order.
EDITED IN RESPONSE TO VENDOR REPLY ON 3/23/10:
right after making my review on resellerratings.com, Eric (x203) called to tell me that he located my part. by that time i already had the part en route from another vendor. he personally apologized and asked me to change my review, which i declined. why any reputable vendor would then choose to purposely discredit their customer in order to beef up ratings is beyond me. while i do not have recordings of the phone conversations available, i do have record of email sent. i have busier things to worry about than spiteful web retailers. hopefully my experience can help other shoppers out there make their own informed decisions."
"I ordered a motherboard on Monday afternoon, called sales and was told my motherboard would be on my doorstep at 10am Wednesday. I login to track my item and find an email dated Tuesday, March 9, 2010 2:23 PM informing me that my motherboard was not even in stock and that UpgradeBay wouldn't have it for 7-10 days. Unacceptable, anyone can take money, stick it in their pocket and smile. No thanks... Find someone more reputable if you're in need of parts. You can't rely on UpgradeBay. Customer trust and company honesty don't exist at UpgradeBay. Place your order somewhere else."
"excellent vendor. prompt service. will gladly buy from them again."
"Terrific service...I needed a hard-to-find part overnighted to a colo facility for an emergency repair, and they made sure they had it in stock, and in-hand, before confirming the order. The salesperson made sure it was in fact the correct part, and was just very courteous throughout the process. Will definitely use them again!"
"Josh with upgradebay.com was an amazing help to me. I needed special memory made by Dell and it had a 4-6 week lead time. He was not only able to find the memory I needed he even made sure that I only paid what Dell's offering price was, plus I received my order in less than a week.
If you ever need computer accessories, call Josh he is so helpful and friendly and I recommend him and his company as a reliable source for your computer needs.

"The value of a company's customer service is their ability to resolve customer issues, which upgradebay.com certainly excelled at.
I originally had some issues getting a hold of a pretty hard-to-get item, and I had given up on the order completely, but an Account exceutive (Josh T), personally followed up with me to ensure I got the part in question, and at a discounted price as well.
Way to go on that one Josh, I would definately shop again at upgradebay and you just made me a repeat customer!
Thanks"
"I searched for a part and ordered from this seller at www.upgradebay.net. What a mistake. Never got a confirmation email after waiting all day so I decided to call them this evening and check on status of my order. The 1st rep put me on hold for a long while then came back and asked me for my name and address and order number. When I gave him my order number he said "that is not a valid order number"! Then he mumbled something and disconnected and another guy came on the line as if I just called for the first time again. I had to re-explain all my info and he said their system is locked out and he could not look up my info. Then he told me again that my yahoo-store order number is not a valid number of theirs (even though their web order site generated it after I submitted my order). Ultimately he said he found my info and said that the part had to be special ordered and that he could not tell me when they could get the part. He said their warehouse contact in on the east coast and are closed now (they are in Los Angeles, CA, the warehouse is on the east coast), so will have to get back to me tomorrow. In searching for this seller's ratings I came upon another url that they go under: it is www.upgradebay.com. I've sent multiple messages to them asking for a reply and acknowledgement... all unanswered. To me, thus far, they appear to be a shady operation. So stay away! I will be calling them again tomorrow to make sure I get my refund back! I've sent several messages to cancel my order. We shall see where this situation goes from here. I regret ordering from this outfit now.
Update result: They never called me back and never answered my emails. I went to their alternative url site and see that they have the part I ordered as "In Stock" but now at a higher price than I had ordered. I called these guys back to inquire about status and the rep told me that they do not have it in stock. So I told him to cancel my order immediately without delay. He told me he would cancel my order and I would not be charged. So that ended my episode of wasted time with this outfit. I would not do business with them again based on my experience and run-around with them. They are a tad on the shady side."
