"Being required to supply photo identification (license or passport) is not on. I've checked in Australia and I would be in breach of banking regulations as well as my employment regulations if I allowed copies (partially redacted or otherwise) to be used overseas in relation to a purchase. I advise others to also refuse secondary request for details which can be used for identity theft or identity fraud or credit card fraud. "

"When I purchased my lens, it said they were in stock, but it took 4 working days (6 days total) to allocate my lens just for shipping. I had previously phoned to ask if it was possible to have it within the week as I needed it for the weekend, but this didnt happen.
The courier delivered to the wrong address but allowed the person to open my package to see what was inside! I then got a phone call from this person saying it was delivered to them, I told them where it was suppose to be so he handed it back to the courier to redeliver! Its a smallish town, the name of the business where it had to be dropped off at, was NOT on the delivery label as I had put in my delivery details, this would have made it easier for the courier. My concern was that if this was something that was useable by the wrong person, would I have got it at all? Courier should NOT have allowed this other person to open my package under any circumstances!
I am happy with my lens, but do think these things should be looked at, otherwise it would have been 5 stars not 4.

"never have I ever been so disappointed with an online purchase as I am with valuebasket.com. ordered and paid for items on the 24th april 2015, and still have not received them to date 7thmay 2015. or been able to track the item. furthermore now the website seems to have disappeared. very mad very sad customer no longer,who is still waiting for my wifes birthday present well overdue. To continue, eventually on the 12th may I received an e-mail stating my order was in transit by dpd. On tracking the information said my parcel was in the Netherlands on 11th may. Why it should go through Amsterdam I have no idea, but when you spend just short of £500 on 1 item from a company who is supposed to be in Gibraltar why should it take 18 days to get to Amsterdam when I am in the uk. The birthday that this item was for has long gone, (2nd may). I must say I do not think this company knows anything about the distance selling regulations, and could do with a jolt from the trading standards department.

"I have never formally written a review for a company before, but because the level of service was so bad when dealing with ValueBasket, I had no choice. This is by far the worst level of customer service that I have ever received, and I shall explain why.

The ValueBasket website states 2-5 days for a product to be dispatched, with a 5-8 day turnaround for delivery. It is now the 10th day since I placed my order, and it has only just been dispatched, with an estimation for delivery falling in the following week. What has angered me the most is the level of unprofessionalism, and the complete disregard for any efforts to uphold good customer service. I have been told three contrasting pieces of information relating to my order, and when I asked why, the representative hung up on me. When I called back again, my call was taken off hold then placed back on hold once I had spoken, twice. This was evidently done because they didn't have the answers to my questions, and felt hanging up was the solution. The only thing that was clear in refusing to answer my questions as a paying customer, was that these representatives were further incriminating themselves as being highly incompetent. Firstly I was told that my product had been sent out for delivery on a Monday, and I called in to check as my tracking number was not working. When I eventually spoke to an agent after a lengthy wait on the phone, no apologies were made with regard to the time, and I was told that my product had only been dispatched on Tuesday. Prior to this, I had taken it upon myself to email the companies' customer service officer to voice my concerns. I received a response to my email which reassured me that my product was in fact out for delivery with DPD, but once again upon checking, my delivery details were not valid. I decided to call back to speak to somebody on Wednesday, and am told that the product has not even reached the DPD depot yet, and is still in transit to them. When I asked why I have been mislead so many times, the line went dead.

I would like to point out that I managed to get one of the customer service agents to tell me where their warehouse was located in the UK, and I was told Oxford. I live in London, and then proceeded to ask why it has taken 10 days to cover such a short distance geographically. My only conclusion is that while the company has willingly taken my money, they did not actually have any stock of the item that i had ordered. I believe that they were first waiting to take stock of these items from another third party supplier, before expediting it to me.

I would urge anyone contemplating using ValueBasket to think again, and read this review first. This is a very badly run company with a call center in the Philippines, with very bad customer service. They should not be able to conduct themselves like this, especially when they have taken stock of a customers' money.

"The item I ordered — a pair of very expensive headphones — arrived in due time, but proved to have a faulty connection to one of the earpieces. I have contacted ValueBasket now on two occasions, providing photographs of the faulty part, to inquire how the situation might be rectified, either by replacement or refund, and have waited for over a week while they look into the matter, which is still not resolved. Clearly their after-sales service leaves a great deal to be desired, and potential customers should be made aware of this."
