"My experience with Velocity Micro was pleasant from beginning to end. Selecting and upgrading my system of choice was very easy. The process was well laid out. When I received my PC it was well packaged and all the contents were nice and organized. Last but not least, my system runs like a dream! "
"Velocity Micro produces a quality product and always delivers when they say they will."
"Best PC buying experience I have ever had. Great machine and the lack of bloatware is truly awesome. Buy your next PC from these guys!"
"Had to finally bite the bullet and upgrade from Windows XP, which I was reluctant to do because I have tons of legacy software that I use daily and didn't want to upgrade. I have skipped every other operation system since Windows 3.1, and when I heard how W7 had an improved compatibility mode I decided to give it a try. When I installed W7 on my wife's new laptop, I was impressed with W7's ability to run legacy software.
Velocity Micro built that XP system for me 7 years ago, and I was very pleased with the service, price, and support. So I went back to them for my new W7 system.
I need a high-end machine, since much of my work involves animation, graphics, and audio. So I went through their online "build your custom system" process just to get an idea of what this was going to cost. I didn't order, but received a proposal in the email. And shortly thereafter, I received a call from Nicholas Smith in sales.
Nicholas was extremely helpful, asked me what I would be using the computer for, and made several recommended changes to my original proposal (some of which cost me less). The changes that cost me more were well explained and I accepted them w/o question. He was knowledgeable, no-pressure, and (I might add) spoke clear and intelligible English.
I'll return to Velocity Micro for all my custom computer needs."
"Ordering was easy. Though the order status didn't always update. The only criticism I would have is that there was a loose screw in the bottom of the case rolling around. as there was no missing screws in the case upon inspection. I can only assume it was dropped and left there during assembly. Thankfully I heard it and got it out before it caused any damage. Other than that the experience was excellent and my new PC is fantastic."
"I began a search and found Velocity Micro along with 7 other companies listed on the site ComputersMadeInTheUSA.com that claim "American Made" or "Foreign and Domestic Parts Assembled in USA". This was a big draw for me being a patriotic American wanting to support our folks at home. I spent hours researching each of the companies and narrowed down my search. I needed a system that met or exceeded system requirements for running CAD/CAM softwares for around $1,500.00 USD. I quickly emailed the Velocity Micro Sales Team and was put in contact with a Nicholas Smith. It wasn't even 10 minutes later that I received a real live human response. Not an automated, "Thank you for your inquiry... a sales representative will be in contact with you shortly."
Nick and I exchanged a few emails back and forth as he had a couple questions about what I was looking for and he quickly pointed me in the direction of a model that would fit my needs. He sent me a PDF and ask if I would give him a call so we could further discuss options. This is where I got really excited. I called and was prompted by the company's automated system and pressed the option for the sales department... the phone didn't even ring twice. A voice answered the phone and I asked to speak with Nicholas Smith. "This is him..." the voice replied. I'm not sure but I think in that instant... I was sold. (Now this may seem like a small thing, but compared to the large tech companies most of us are familiar with that outsource your calls to some guy in freaking India that barely speaks English, it was huge.)
I spoke with Nick for about 5 or 10 minutes and I thanked him for his time. After reviewing the PDF and asking a few more questions about the model suggested and the company itself, I was pretty sure this is where I wanted to spend my money but I still wanted to explore all my options. I continued to email Nick back and forth quite a bit as he was curious about what other companies I was looking at and he was instantly familiar and pointed out some key facts about the other options I had been recommended that would either not meet my requirements or my budget. A couple of the other laptops I looked at had half the RAM or less of the Velocity Micro which outperformed all of them in the other major categories too... and for several grand cheaper at that.
I called VM again that Thursday afternoon and again pressed the option for the sales department. Ringgg.... Ringgg... "Hello, this is Nick with Velocity Micro how can I help you?" If it was luck the first time it definitely wasn't luck twice, right? I was blown away that both times I called and got the exact person I needed in less than thirty seconds. If that doesn't attest to the kind of superior quality customer service VM offers than I don't know what does.
To wrap this thing up, I quickly spoke with Nick and placed my order and arranged for it to be shipped. Nick said I should expect the package to arrive the following Tuesday... just three business days later. Feeling great about the money I just spent I thanked Nick again for his time and expertise and told him what a genuine pleasure it had been doing business with VM.
Had the order arrived the following Tuesday I would still have been just as excited about the whole process as I am now... but things didn't stop there. Saturday morning around 10 AM (Just a day and a half later) I was at home and the FedEx guy delivered the package at my door. VM had exceeded my expectations yet again and at no cost for the quick ship on top of that.
I promptly began to get into the very thoughtfully packed box and looked over the nice portfolio folder with VM's name on the front that contained my warranty, setup guide, and owner's manual. Also in the box was a genuine handwritten "Thank You" note from the company. I could not have been any happier than I was then if I had spent my money anywhere else. I then switched my computer on and admired the desktop that only contained two icons aside from the recycle bin. VM promises to provide it's customers with superb performance and none of the junk applications and programs the big companies load their stuff down with using up a good chunk of the advertised memory or storage you paid for. Now that being said my VM NoteMagix 15 wasn't some stripped down basic machine even though it is one of VM's entry models. It was far from it. It blew the competition out of the water across the board for it's class.
All in all, I could have not provided better customer service to myself if I wanted to. Velocity Micro offers their customers an unbelievable product at a more than competitive cost. Their brand name may not be the largest or the most familiar to you yet but don't be surprised when that changes because out of the masses of other tech companies out there right now... I believe Velocity Micro is the hungriest.

"Needed a system that was not I the preconfigured system. The service representative took care of my needs. Great follow up. This is my second system. "
"Love the machine that Velocity Micro put together for me. We just needed a house desktop for personal surfing, kids games, storing music, etc. I have had an HP but the bloatware on the HPs, Dells, etc. is just ridiculous so I did some searching and found VM. We chose there "holiday special" and with a couple of tweaks, it was just what we needed. I couldn't be happier with the service, the ease of ordering, or the machine itself. I accidentally ordered a wi-fi router instead of wi-fi network adapter. No problem, they took it back without question but I did have to pay the return shipping. I highly recommend this company."
"This is a fast, capable, quiet, yet reasonably priced PC that boots in seconds, flies through my considerable PhotoShop tasks, multitasks like Bill Gates, and runs Flight Simulator fast enough to make this pilot smile. Did I say that the computer is quiet?
Beautiful, spartan build, light weight, superb yet quiet cooling, built-in wheels, faultless customer service -- knowledgeable, patient technical support.
The salesperson made suggestions to maximize performance yet save money where possible (as I requested).
The computer was promptly built, tested, and shipped. In my experience, this is an excellent American company, offering superb performance and service. Don't try getting anything like this with *ell or *sus -- as they couldn't be bothered in the former case and weren't organized enough in the later case.
I feel most fortunate that I came across Velocity Micro. These comments set a high bar for the company -- but I got the sense that the company is committed to providing just this type of excellent quality and service.

"I was in the United States for 2 weeks during the Christmas and New Years holiday. I wanted a new custom built PC delivered before I left the country. I contacted boutique PC vendors starting about 10 days before Christmas. The estimated ship dates from half a dozen top name vendors were four to six weeks (two to four weeks after I would be gone). Velocity Micro shipped my PC on time during the busiest shopping and shipping time of year.
Customer service checked in with me twice during the process. My computer arrived packed well.
The components in the PC are quality name brand components that I would have picked anyway if I was building my own PC. The MX3 case is attractive and quiet despite having substantial fan cooling inside. The case uses a tool-less design with thumbscrews. The thumbscrews that attach to hard drive cages come with rubber grommets to cut down on vibration rattles - a nice touch!
I only have two very small complaints: 1. When I initially unboxed my PC, there were two loose thumbscrews rattling around in the case. They must have gotten loose during shipping. 2. Velocity Micro could offer a little more customer selection in choice of components. I am happy with the components in my PC, but I know some people would want to know the brand names and part numbers of the GPU, hard drives, etc.
Assembly of the components was great. I couldn't have done nearly as good a job wiring the cables and minimizing case clutter.
I would buy another computer from Velocity MIcro!"
"Quick, reliable, and excellent product as well as customer service."
"I always use velocity micro to order my desktops for my computer; Nick is the sales r&amhat I purchase my custom desktops from and hes always helpful and friendly. Thanks for the great service and computers!"
"I was particularly impressed with their customer support. "
"Despite a couple of minor hiccups, the process was pleasant and easy and I'm very happy with the delivered product.
One of the graphics card options chosen off of the website's configuration system turned out to not be viable for the style of case, which caused a delay of production. Service to correct the problem was efficient and helpful, however.
I also noticed that the order status feature was not updated promptly to reflect that the product had been shipped (although I did receive a shipping notice from FedEx, so I knew it had been shipped).
The unit came packed very, very well, with good supporting documentation. "
"I was surprised to find that my $2000 computer was left on my doorstep with no signature required.
I was confused there was no tracking number for the monitor I bought at the same time as the computer and it was shipped separate.
No software shipped with blu ray burner is a disappointment.
I do like my purchase though and I am happy I received it.

"My decision to stray from the established Big Brands was not easy. As a consumer, there is a level of comfort with large, well recognized brands. After reading what seemed like hundreds of reviews on this site, I decided that the potential benefits of a custom built pc outweighed the risks of not buying from a big, bloatware filled brand. For context, my job is to evaluate promotional claims to ensure consumers are not being mislead. I spend significant time in the details and am a natural born skeptic, often giving more weight to negative reviews than positive reviews. So my decision to purchase from Velocity Micro came after extensive due diligence. Although I have only had my Vector Z35 for 4 days, I am completely satisfied up to this point. Nick was very helpful during our phone call on the 14th when placing my order. Not being a tech person, I knew only that I wanted to have a computer powerful enough to smoothly handle video editing. Nick made recommendations and I concurred, even though I knew it would exceed my budget. I reasoned, and was reassured by Nick, that I would own this PC for years and given that it had plenty of room for expansion, the total cost of ownership calculations made financial sense. The pc shipped on the day they said it would and arrived on time (19th), with excellent packaging. It came with a promotional bag and t-shirt, documentation for all parts, OEM Windows 7 disc (I prefer 7), a video adapter, other misc parts and paper, and a hand signed thank you card. The quick start guide was easy to follow and I had the pc up and running in no time. As I mentioned, I'm not a tech person, so all the IT benchmarks of performance mean little to me. All that really matters to me is that the computer works, and works quickly...and that is exactly what my Z35 does. There is a significant improvement in video handling compared to my lower end big brand computer, and I am saving enormous amounts of time when producing game DVDs for my son's hockey team. A few additional points I considered when making my decision were the upgrade process, lifetime phone support, and that it was assembled in the U.S. (Virginia to be precise). As a smaller company, the offer to provide lifetime supports speaks volumes about their confidence in the quality of their product. So far, they have not disappointed me. Finally, perhaps the most enjoyable moment of my Z35 experience so far has been the initial start up. To stare at desktop with 2 icons on it is akin to stepping on fresh ice after a Zamboni run....pure, unadulterated, bloatware free!"
