"My experience with Velocity Micro was pleasant from beginning to end. Selecting and upgrading my system of choice was very easy. The process was well laid out. When I received my PC it was well packaged and all the contents were nice and organized. Last but not least, my system runs like a dream! "
"I believe I messed up in submitting the 1st survery, so hear goes again. I am taking the time to complete this because Velocity PC has been excellent across the board. From the point of sale to tech support all the way to follow up after the sale, unheard of these days. Build quality of my daughter's ProMagix is fantastic machine. The aluminum tower see through tower is funtional as well as great looking. Being able to see the inside gives a heads up as to when cleaning is needed. I had some concerns with the sound card and new one was received within 2 days. A free upgrade included and I am really glad they did this, what a difference. Their machines offer much more room for expansion than your typical over the counter PC. Overall, a very satisfied customer. I would have gotten my daugter to write this but it's hard to get her off of the computer!!! "
"Great system. Contact person, Trace was very courteous and professional. Ordering process was exceptional. He expressed concern of the cost of system and my needs which was very much appreciated. But, I have been following your company for over a year and have been saving for this system. It was a pleasure placing an order with your company and I will refer other people to your computer company. Again thanks for professional and courteous ordering system that our company has in place. "I bought this computer six months ago, but waited until I finished paying for it before I rated it. 1. The computer itself is very fast compared to the one I replaced. 2. I have called Velocity Micro several times with problems, and I have been extremely pleased with their help. 3. The computer was unstable with the software/utilities/operating system I started with. It took about a month to clear up most of my problems. Technical support helped me with all of these problems. There are still a few minor problems, but I can deal with them, and I hope to work them out eventually. 4. One concern I had was that it took until May to get my Vista upgrade. Velocity Micro helped me by giving me numbers to call. I have still not installed it, and I may never switch from XP. 5.I can understand some of the complaints I have seen. When I bought the computer it was cutting edge technology. It did not work properly out of the box like my HP, but two points: (1) I would never have bought such a product if I did not know how to trouble shoot it myself. (2)The technical support team went far beyond my expectations in solving my problems."
"I purchased a Velocity Micro Gamer's Edge pc about six months ago. It was fully loaded, including a liquidcool cpu cooler. The company was very good about communicating status to me and I received it on time. I had some questions when I installed it over the weekend and was able to reach a technician who was obviously at home, but still very professional and helpful. Later, they added their "concierge" service and I contacted the concierge with some additional questions. Again, the responses were very quick and helpful. About three weeks ago, my system kept shutting down. They sent me a next day Fed-x label and I sent it in. When I called to check with them, I was surprised to be put right through to the technician who was working on my computer! The problem was quickly resolved and the pc was actually returned a day BEFORE they said it would arrive. Inside the new box was a plastic portfolio that included a copy of the warrenty, a detailed report of what was done to the computer and a business card of the technician who worked on it. After dealing with Dell several times on one of my other computers, Velocity is a very refreshing change. The computer is well built, well designed and looks great. The cables are professionally routed and wrapped. I'm a gamer and this is truley my dream machine. But the service is just icing on the cake. I couldn't be happier with the company and their product. I have recommended them to all my friends. I will certainly by another, but after what I paid for this one, it'll be awhile!"
"Very bad experience with velocity micro. Two weeks and computer still does not work"
"I received my new NoteMagix M57 Ultra Desktop Replacement Notebook just over one month ago. I set out seeking a gaming PC that could easily be carried around the house or taken on the road. My 5 year old desktop PC would be kept in service as my main platform for home office tasks, internet surfing, and other activities where limited PC capabilities do not impede the task. I seriously considered several brands before I deciding upon Velocity Micro.
I chose VM for several reasons.
1. Many online reviews described the high quality and neatness of the build.
2. I was able to get the components that I wanted.
3. Tech support is located in my home country.
4. When I called to get additional information regarding potential configurations, Trace Dixon was extraordinarily helpful, professional, and patient in helping me choose what I needed.
5. Customer service: my online research indicated that VM strives to satisfy their customers.
6. Good BBB rating.
7. Less significant, but notable to me, the VM website's PC build configurator was easy and fast to use, and website wasn't distracting with flashy graphics and unnecessary clutter.
After I ordered my notebook, I decided to change the order slightly, and confirmation of the change from VM was rapid. I liked that I was given updates along the build and shipping process.
The notebook has exceeded my expectations. Upon receipt, it was packed extremely well and arrived in perfect shape. The chassis styling is clean, elegant, and very understated. It booted flawlessly. The 17” screen is crystal clear.
Gaming use: I mostly play Sims 2 with all EPs, and with a download folder of almost 4000 items. On my older desktop (vintage 2002, 2.4 GHz P4, upgraded to 1G ram, Nvidia Geforce4 MX420) the game stutters/pauses on lots with more than 9 characters. On the new notebook, this lot runs smooth as silk. I've played as many as 25 characters at once on a lot with minimal stutter. I didn't expect this level of performance from a laptop.
Graphics and performance for other games (WoW, Galactic Civilizations) is superb.
So far, I couldn't be more pleased with this notebook, and will return to VM when the time comes for upgrades or another purchase. "
"Velocity Micro is a great gaming computer to invest your gaming computer dollars in. The purchasing and now a support experience has proven this. I received a response from David Wild after only about a 20 minute wait. He was able to quickly diagnose that the CMOS Bios needed to be reset and re-configured. Great Service Velocity Micro!

"Velocity Micro's gamer comp is the greatest. And to top that the technical service is one of the best. I have had numerous computers and vendors and Velocity Micro's tech support is #1. Very low wait time. David Wild, Tech support, was very professional and patient. I had a minor keyboard issue and an overheating video card. These were sent out promptly. Very pleased with Velocity Micro. "
"Amazing service. I talked to Jay Lewis and had a few questions via email and they were promptly returned the next day with my questions about the 1500 Gamers tower answered. He helped me to customize my PC tower and it was made and delivered in about 12 days. I had one issue with some incompatible memory that caused me to reinstall the OS but the customer support was good during this time. The gentleman who helped me the first night gave me some incorrect advice but the guy the next day fixed my problem. But the main thing? Every conversation with them was a pleasure and didn't make me feel like I was a burden on their time. I would surely do business with Velocity Micro again ...in fact I did. I bought memory from Jay Lewis again Sat. and first thing Monday morning, I got an email from their Accounting department confirming my order. Prompt and courteous service. And most importantly, the computer was well put together!"
"ordered online on 15 Feb 2007. pretty painless although a little cluttered interface and some of the help information was a little sparse. i tried to call several times to get more info but got voice mail and no response. i understand that the new vista os is greating a surge in volume and they were experiencing some overload. no big deal so i placed an order anyway. approval of my order occurred the same day and my order was in the system.
the order was staged on 21 Feb 2007. would have been nice if there was a way to get your order's position in the queue.
28 Feb 2007 build is complete. Again, it would have been a nice thing to give feedback as to how things are going.
8 Mar 2007 received the pc.
ordered a lxe black extended depth case, 750 watt psu, e6600, 2 gb pc5300 ram, 512 mb evga 7950 gt graphics card, soundblaster xtremeaudio, 2 320 gb hdd in raid 0 ...
there was some small damage to the box due to shipping but pc looked ok. opened up the pc and made sure ram and cards were still seated ... had to reseat a ram stick as it was loose. checked cpu fan to make sure it didnt come loose. i was impressed with how clean the wiring is. lots better than any of the dells i have gotten. the back of the pc, the i/o panel seems a little off as the i/o ports dont match exactly with the holes in i/o panel... not a functional problem ... more esthetics. followed instructions on setting up the pc and booted into the windows vista startup. had to register the os ... a pain ... instructions could have been a little more informative about the registration process as the system builder's serial number has to be replaced by the number that is on the case for the pc.
had a little problem with the keyboard not being recognized but a reboot solved the problem and havent had it reoccur.
the rest of the setup went well. downloaded some drivers for my mouse and keyboard and proceeded to install WoW. everything is running without a problem so far. the system seems to be stable and i have had no problem running WoW. The only thing i would caution someone on is getting the 750 watt power supply as it is loud. otherwise the i like what i got.
Heather Taylor the vm rep has been very helpful and is part of the reason i bought a pc from them. (see her posts on [H]ardForum) i only wish i had started communicating directly with her earlier in the process.
i would recommend velocity micro to any of my friends looking to buy a PC."
"I have tried Dell and HP and this is the only company who actually cares about their customers. Tech support will bend over backwards to provide you with quick and very friendly service. The computer itself is flawless and is as fast as one would only hope to receive from other companies.
Roger Glen"
"I can't say enough good things about this company. I built my last PC and didn't have the time or energy to deal with building one again, so i went ahead with the folks at Velocity. I was hesitant at first, because they don't have the "name" of Dell or Alien, but I definitely didn't need to worry. Everyone I spoke to was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable. They totally went above and beyond the call to get me a system I desperately needed, and to get it to me quickly. Every person I spoke to definitely knew their stuff--I never go the feeling I was talking to someone "overseas" who didn't care about my true computing needs, and then today, the system arrived. IMMACULATE construction. The cables were neatly arranged, and it was cleanly done. It will be a dream to upgrade anything in here. And lastly, tonight I spoke to a rep named Jay with a quick question that, quite honestly, he didn't need to answer because it didn't directly have to do with Velocity or their system. But, he listened to me and heard the unstated question/issue, had some great suggestions, and then told me I could call him back if I still had the problem. Amazing. If my computer is half as good as their customer service, I'll be buying my computers from them for a l-o-n-g time to come. And no, I don't work for them. "
"Through no fault of Velocity Micro, I've had to contact their support staff twice due to upgrading the system to Windows Vista. I purchased the computer from the original owner Marjorie who bought it originally last October. Both times, the tech support staff (Shawn and Justin) were extremely helpful, patient and successfully resolved the issue. Both provided exceptional customer service! In addition, the computer itself is outstanding. It's extremely fast, quiet and VERY easy to work on such as adding additional RAM. I'm extremely pleased with the computer, the company and the support staff and give them a 10 rating!!"
"Firstly, let me preface this review by saying that I normally build my own computers, but now that I have a job, I thought I might take the plunge with a reputable custom builder. Well, let's just say I won't be taking the plunge again. I chose Velocity Micro primarily based on HardOCP's glowing review of them and also for the price (as compared to other custom builders). Ordering and initially receiving the computer were smooth as can be.
But that evening as I was installing a wireless card (VM should get with the program and starting using MBs with integrated wireless) I plugged the power cord and poof, a puff of smoke and a flash of light came from the power supply. I knew instantaneously that the power supply have been fried. So I called up tech support and I will give VM credit, a human eventually answered the phone even though I called at 11pm at night CST. The guy was polite enough and agreed to send me a new power supply. And he also said he would send a tech out to install it.
Now a power supply is not that hard to install, but I figured that hey, I'm paying for this, so what the hey. Well, the tech came...butchered the wiring (so much for the "neat wiring job") and what do you know, computer still refused to power up. So to make a long story short, after a month and after replacing mobo, hard drive, and video card basically myself, the computer is now running. Don't know how stable it is because I just got it booted last night. In short, I could've built a computer and paid less in the time it took to get that thing running.
Granted, tech support always had a person answer (usually took at least 10 minutes for somebody to answer) and they were relatively polite, but VM never offered anything to compensate me for the absolute hassle and now they want me to return all the dead parts to them. What the heck for? I called and explained the situation and they refused to make an exception even after all I had gone through. If a company truly valued customer service they would do something to make up for this crappy experience. But, unfortunately, I won't be able to recommend VM to others after this whole fiasco. If you are at all tech savy, just go and build your own computer. Less hassle, less time, and its cheaper.
Update: I'm still disappointed by this response. What kind of computer can't handle the installation of a wireless card? Perhaps my expectations were too high for VM as this was my first experience in purchasing from a "custom" builder. Yes, the computer is now running and stable, but not because of VM "build quality" as I basically installed all the hardware myself and also re-installed the software myself i.e. built my own computer. This being said, I will adjust my rating because the customer service reps were never jerks to me and they did send me new parts ( well like one part per week for three weeks). However, next time I will pay more for a more boutique builder like Puget perhaps. "
“Dear akshung,
Thank you for posting a review of your experience here.
Our customer care department determined that your addition of an aftermarket wireless card caused the power supply failure. When troubleshooting the issue, customer care was not told about the added part. We worked with you to get a new power supply and other new components. We believe that your sysem should be stable now and we look forward to your updating your review after you've had a chance to experience the PC's stability over the past few days.
Unfortunately, we cannot compensate you beyond the terms and conditions of the sale and our warranty, all of which you accepted when you purchased the system.
While it may seem strange, we need the old parts back from your system to return to the vendors who sold us these products. This is standard practice within the industry. We thank you for taking the time to return these.
We look forward to an update of your review and to working with you in the future.
Thank you,
Velocity Micro”
"I recently recieved my Velocity Micro CineMagix S85 Home Entertainment PC with Windows
Vista, which I ordered through Trace, one of VM's sales associates.
I couldn't be more pleased! Since last
November, I had been reseaching what I wanted/needed in a new PC. I
narrowed down the list of possible vendors, and when it came time to buy, I
contacted salesmen at a couple different companies. Trace was by far the
most professional sales person I spoke with, and Velocity Micro as a whole
gave me the most purchasing confidence.
I was not let down. The machine VM sent me arrived in perfect shape, and
is a top-notch PC. From the service, to the package contents, to the
machine performance, I can tell that the VM team takes a lot of pride in
what it does, and strives to provide the best for its customers. They have taken care of me, and provided me with an excellent product.
However man years i takes for me to need another desktop PC (or maybe I should get a laptop!), I will remember Velocity Micro, and plan to purchase from them again.
Sincerely,
Jason"
