"Easy transaction, I was not interested in creating an account, but was forced to make a password before I could check out. I typed in a password then unchecked create an account after a few tries and then was allowed to successfully complete the transaction. Would like to have an estimated shipment time. "As a first time pilot, I was concerned if I should by a $700 drone, (Typoon Q500 4k) and I am glad I did. The Q500 is probably the smoothest easiest to fly drone I have ever seen. Watching videos on smaller less expensive UAVs gave me pause do to they don't have the tech capabilities of the larger UAVs. Flying the Q500 has been a complete joy and already I feel as though I am an experienced pilot, I can only learn to become better and more confident as time passes. Great product, great UAV."
"This company appears to be preying on those who are either too constrained by time to deal with tech problems or feel too inadequate to deal with issues.
The quote that they gave me was very high, they immediately offered me a "discount" on a new drone camera for a number that was more than 2X what I had already paid for a brand new drone camera of the same type off of Newegg.com
That isn't the only red flag.
The quote they gave me was high because, "we would have to open the main camera ball"
As it happens, the main camera ball requires 8 small screws to be opened. I know because I did it and inspected my camera. It took me about 4 minutes to open the main camera ball, so if that is the reason (as they stated) for such a high labor cost then they are either seriously incompetent or overstating their position to a disgusting degree.
Wait, there's more. apparently it cost them $43 USD to ship the camera across the country. Strange that the shipping cost would be so high. I have literally shipped THOUSANDS of items across the country, and even internationally as part of my ebay business.
Never have I incurred such egregious shipping costs.
This begs the question. Did they do anything at all? Did they have me ship to them simply to claim that the camera is a total loss and hope that I would pay them an insane middle-man's markup? Worst case scenario is that I say no and they pocket $15-$20 in over stated and over priced shipping. Best case scenario is they score about $200 off of me in 100% marked up new camera.
My evaluation? These guys are con artists and assume that you and I are ignorant clowns. I highly advise you to stay away from these guys. Take your camera into Best Buy instead (who is contract with Yuneec to service damages cameras).
