"The read aloud feature is barely functional and only sometimes can’t go page to page really disappointing, compared to some other programs I use"
"multiple faulty systems with purchasing protocols and accessibility. Hopefully they correct this issue as people need textbook access to succeed in their courses. Horrible."
"Trying to return a book was an interesting experience. I needed the book for my course work and was given the run around."
"I chose Vital Source because of the Read Aloud feature. The actual voice is very Robotic sound. Not really soothing to my ears. Hope this changes to sound like an actual human voice."
"Only feature I’m not a fan of is the audio. The responsive sizing does as good a job as possible!"
"This is not a very helpful resource if you need to use the Read Aloud feature. Many voices are offered, but they are all so robotic-sounding that it is difficult to absorb the content. "
"I bought an ebook version of my text to get quick access as the class had already begun. Got my confirmation email and the link takes me to the library where it shows the book but the link on the book says I don’t have access to the library. Have emailed both Alibris and vital source and they email me back telling me to go to the other place. I’m now 2 weeks into the course still don’t have access to the book and the only way to get through to anyone is via email which means I get to wait 2-3 days to get a response and they keep stamping the issue as resolved when it is not. To top it off while waiting for a response email I got a call from my credit card company saying they noticed multiple “suspicious” charges on my credit for less than $1.00 so they canceled the card … at this point I’d take a refund but I don’t even know if that’s possible with their limited technology and customer service "
"I paid $80 for a book and they denied me access. I emailed about the situation, and received no response."
"I purchased a text book thru your platform to only be given a code to use to have access to the text on a completely different platform from a completely different company. Not only was this confusing it also made the experience confusing and disappointing as well."
"The lashes will not flip it’s stuff on the cover of the book "
"Poor interface and text font is fuzzy when zoom in or out. "
"This is the second semester that I am using Vital Source’s “program” for my college textbooks. Overall the price point and material is sufficient but reader experience is fragmented. If I had to change a few things here’s what I would modify.
1) The audio read back feature feels clunky and lacks feedback capability (ie audio notes or highlights)
2) Reading text/changing pages on mobile platforms requires touching arrow vice scrolling function with left or right swiping akin to kindle books.
3) Grouping notes or deleting bulk notes function would be a great addition to minimize individual deletion.

"The book is read by a computer that has a robot voice and doesn’t modulate. Very hard to listen to."
"Sometimes read aloud works, sometimes it does not. Is the reason I went with vital source, to be able to listen to my textbook aloud."
"The voice of reading is super bad. Can you please update the tech of the voice and use more like human being voice to reading function."
