"The lashes will not flip it’s stuff on the cover of the book "
"Poor interface and text font is fuzzy when zoom in or out. "
"This is the second semester that I am using Vital Source’s “program” for my college textbooks. Overall the price point and material is sufficient but reader experience is fragmented. If I had to change a few things here’s what I would modify.
1) The audio read back feature feels clunky and lacks feedback capability (ie audio notes or highlights)
2) Reading text/changing pages on mobile platforms requires touching arrow vice scrolling function with left or right swiping akin to kindle books.
3) Grouping notes or deleting bulk notes function would be a great addition to minimize individual deletion.
"
"The book is read by a computer that has a robot voice and doesn’t modulate. Very hard to listen to."
"Sometimes read aloud works, sometimes it does not. Is the reason I went with vital source, to be able to listen to my textbook aloud."
"The voice of reading is super bad. Can you please update the tech of the voice and use more like human being voice to reading function."
"1. It has to be opened on each separate page, which is tedious and time-consuming when trying to get through a lot of pages
2. The voice sounds unnatural
3. No color options for the highlighter/background "
"Unable to access my purchase"
"I bought an ebook but was never able to open the book because I didn't receive the code. never figured it out."
" I paid the full fee to get an access code that’s already been used and I had to go through an hour plus to explain the one time use access code they gave was already used. Another customer service rep had to send their return policy to me and make an “one time exception” to give me my refund after throwing away a part of my day to get any help on the matter. In short, it is gonna be the one and only time they would offer me a refund, even after the possibility of the same issue occurring again. I normally do not write a harsh review, such as this. However, I am hopeful that someone with any influence from this company would read this review and drastically revise their return policy. Because it makes me worried to do business with them again so long as the same return policy is still in place."
"My purchase came with an invalid access code."
"Pros: book selection, ease of purchase, efficiency, appearance of the site
Cons: insufficient formatting abilities for a visual disability. Does not cooperate with a screen reader. Font should ADJUST TO THE SCREEN and not remain fixed in the document—inability to invert colors. Buying books you can't read is incredibly frustrating.
"
"Unfriendly to use. Will purchase from another online download format for my next book. I find the format of the book and accessibility difficult to browse through quickly when accessing pages and it was difficult to access and read offline. "
"The book I bought is not in my bookshelf and I need it for my summer class"
"I was confused when I had to go to another website to access this book after purchasing it on a different website- those instructions could be clearer. So far the experience has been good on VitalSource, but it asks me to verify my log in every time. I get that's to prevent people from sharing the book- but there has to be a way to approve computers or something. I hate having to log into a different email account to get a code every time I want to read the book somewhere else."
