"I'd skip WAMHomeCenter. There are plenty of sites to choose from. The WAM site is not that well designed. The shipping is slow - nearly a month to get two basic Grohe drains and two basic Moen Basket Strainers. Two Cree light fixtures did not arrive as promised and when I called was told another three weeks - really two months to get two simple light fixtures. We've ordered from WAM before - the products arrived but the packaging was poor. Tried them again, but ultimately lost hope and cancelled the rest of my order - not sure anyone is really HOME at this place. Better to move on."
"I ordered a takagi tankless water heater from WAMHomeCenter on 10/27/2011 and it is 11/17/11. I have tried to contact them by phone 3 separate times and e-mail (contact us) once. First time I sat on hold 55 minutes before I hung up and I have yet to talk to anyone at the company. No order status has been communicated in any way. I looked the web page and they indicate the product is discontinued. Amazing this company exists. I think it is fraud and I will charge back my visa for the payment. "
"I'm a contractor. My lighting supply house back ordered some really abstract lighting pieces from Sea Gull Lighting. Found them on the WamhomeCenter site at a lower price. Ordered them last Thursday. This past Saturday I tried to find out my order status. Could not loggin. Started to worry. Read some reviews and thought I'd never see my order and I'd have to fight to get my money back. Today is Monday and my lighting parts just arrived by UPS. Also have an email from Wam HC that the order had shipped, sorry we were updating our system over the weekend. Simply the best! Don't hesitate to order. Eclectiks"
"I ordered what i thought was a marathon water heater according to the product description, but when i received it , it was only a thermal storage tank. the description plainly states the product is a residential water heater from rheem for geothermal which is what i needed. by definition, all water heaters are storage tanks--i assumed that the thermal tank was the type of tank on the water heater. i ordered this tank on 09-11-11 for 897.25--wam is going to charge me a 25% restocking fee plus i have to pay to have the tank shipped back. who in their right mind charges 224.31 to place a water heater back on a shelf--wam has quite a little racket going. this has been the worst experience of my life! i encourage everyone not to order from this company--they are very dishonest and it is nearly impossible to get them on the phone--i wasted a lot of time waiting on someone to answer when i tried to call. this website should have "BUYER BEWARE" stamped all over it. everyone should buy locally--it will save a lot of time and hassle. heed my words--beware of this company!!!"
"I ordered an Elkay sink, and the price seemed to be the best on the web. The web site didn't say out of stock, so I placed the order and my card has been charged. That's when the paranoia set in. However in two days I received order and shipping confirmation, and the sink showed up in about a week's time, in perfect shape. Phew! Thanks!! (I would use them again.)

After my original post, customer service did contact me via email and subsequently a phone call. The missing items from the shipment were drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer and I have received them.
Now that this is resolved, I will comment that the order process was simple and straight forward. The diversity of products offered is tremendous. Had I not been the misfortunate customer who had a shipment problem (which was *not* a WAMHomeCenter issue...it was the suppliers problem), I would have given a high rating across the board.
WAMHomeCenter, going forward if you can figure out what has been going wrong with your email and customer support web-form, you'll do great! Thanks for resolving my problem.

WAMHomeCenter customer service is terrible. Worst I have ever experienced. My order shipment was incomplete, with two pieces missing. Since Sept 1, I have emailed 4 times (to both sales and orderstatus addresses). Filled out their web "contact us" form once. Called twice, sitting on hold forever. I have not been able to reach a live person, and have not received a single reply to my emails. What is wrong with a company that cannot provide an ounce of customer service?"
"My order was placed on 8/18 and promised that it would ship on 8/19-- called to find out tracking - and never received reply by email or phone. then received email on 8/24 that it was shipped on that date. LATE for my needs. REceived parts for Nutone- and hose is defective - have sent more than 7 emails and spent more than 25 minutes on hold ,4 times - and still NO ONE responds. I question the legitimacy of this business... "
"Placed an order on a rather pricy item. The item was shipped to the wrong address, which looks to be a mistake by the freight company, however it also arrived damaged. Because it went to a wrong address, was damaged in shipment, this causes problems with WAM Home Centers damaged merchandise policy. I can't refuse delivery of damaged merchandise that was sent to another state (NJ versus IL). My emails to WAMHomeCenter go unanswered even though they have been read according to return receipt. Their customer service / sales number ***-***-**** is not valid in my area (Chicago suburb) and I can't locate a local number for them. Hopefully they will see this and respond. I will update this review indicating success.
UPDATE #1 (8/18):
Contacted via email through ResellerRatings indicating I would be contacted by Customer Service. Had an email shortly afterwards indicating that they have contacted vendor to have new item shipped. I should have a tracking number on Monday. Will update as I know more.
FINAL UPDATE (8/26):
Received the email on Monday with the same tracking number as the original shipment. Emailed back asking for the correct number. That email went unanswered. After copying the original person from WAM who had responded to the Resellers Ratings review, I got an email with the correct number. I received the item yesterday.
Wrap-up:
There is one review where WAM responded about their great customer service; however I did feel I had to play games to get this company to respond. Until I came to this site and put up a bad review I didn’t feel I was getting good customer service. Great pricing is what is bringing WAM customers; poor customer service is what will prevent them from being return customers. Would I order again? I really want to say yes, and the contact I had with their customer service, all through email, was good except for the need to prematurely review them to get response. I would order again if they had a number I could call and get an answer.
UPDATE TO RESPONSE:
Honestly... your 888 number DOES NOT WORK from either the multiple 847 or 224 Chicago area code numbers I tried to dial from. Maybe you should try to believe me, it was honest feedback I would hope your company would take. I just tried today and was able to get through. I do not know what was going on that day, but I was unable to get through."
"Price and selection seemed excellent so I ordered lighting for the kitchen and received it promptly but the order was not complete. The packing slip even had 0 quantity for the missing items. I tried emailing their sales department, their order status department, and sat on the phone waiting for someone to answer for 20 minutes before I was able to get a hold of someone who checked and told me that several of the items were on backorder and would ship at the end of the month. Why it was so painful to find this out is a mystery."
"Good experience. Ordered bathroom exhaust fan on Sunday 7/10/11 and received it Friday, 7/15/11 via UPS. Received exactly what I ordered and item was in good condition. Already installed it. WAM Home Center did not send an email that the item was shipped and my account on their web site was not updated to reflect item was shipped. My account only showed that the order was received and processed from day two through when I received it. You cannot get through on their phone lines to inquire about the status of your order. However the price was the best and I did receive it timely so just be patient. "
"Overall it was a good experience with no real complaints.
I'm happy with my products and am satisfied with the deal.
If I had to pick anything to "comment" about it would be that the order status updating could be better and the email corespondance, which is incouraged vs. calling on the site, could also be much better.
There was a holiday in between this process so that should be factored into the equation.
This is absolutley intended as constructive feedback and not meant to be for the sake of whinning.
As I mentioned before, no real complaints and overall satisfied.

I called the 1-888 number today and waited on hold for over 45 minutes (no one ever answered). I also wrote an e-mail during business hours and have not heard a response. Very frustrating."
