Wanted $1000 for a generic prescription; refused to transfer

"Walgreens price to fill my prescription for a generic drug was nearly $1000 when other pharmacies could fill the prescription for $17. I attempted to transfer the prescription to another pharmacy. Walgreens refused to transfer the prescription. The only reason given was that it was company policy. I had to go back to my doctor, have the prescription at Walgreens cancelled, and have a new prescription sent to the more reasonable pharmacy. All of this was very inconvenient for me and for the doctor and took a long time to complete.

Thank goodness the prescription was not something I needed right away.
This incident gives the strong impression that Walgreen is holding hostage medication people need for their health. That seems shameful to me.

To make matters worse, when I was ordering the medication, I first attempted to order it online. The Walgreens web site wanted me to provide my credit card to be charged without telling me how much the prescription would cost! We don't have insurance for this. Had I been foolish enough to click submit we'd be out nearly $1000. What kind of a company won't tell you how much something will cost before you buy? I feel like I'm dealing with some sort of criminal organization.

Stay far away from Walgreens, for your health. There are many alternatives.

nonexistent consumer relations

"Yesterday my doctor called in 2 prescriptions to the local Walgreens, Cambridge, MD. This am, 12:23 they called and left a message on the answering machine that they were ready. I went there at 1:30pm to pick them up and was told that one was ready and that the other would not be available untill after lunch. Looking at the clock to verify the time I commented that some one had called and said that they were ready for pickup. She said that they would be available after 2:30. Now 4:38 pm and still no call that they are in fact ready.
Tried submitting the online form to consumer relations and when I hit the submit button it cleared all the responses; not once but twice. Called consumer relations and got connected to someone who said his name was Louis. Could tell right from the get go that this was going to be a waste of time and it most certainly was.
As the song goes; bye, bye, so long, farewell, but I won't be seeing you in September or any other month.

"I was denied the free Covid booster today at the Walgreens in Monmouth, IL. I am so done with Walgreens. Used to be a good store. Wtf is up with that? I guess Covid is over even though between 200-500 die daily."

Pharmacy Hours Not What They Say!

"I searched online for pharmacy hours which was 9:00AM opening. I went to Walgreens at 9:25AM and was not allowed to pickup my prescription they told me was ready. They stated this because no pharmacist was there. This is false advertising and certainly no amount or concern for customer service."

Shorted on my Walgreen.com online order

"I ordered 72 disposable briefs online and received 1 package of 12. I called their Customer Service and after an hour on the phone, they indicated the additional 5 packages of 12 would be sent. I have not received them or any notification of shipping. These are not cheap and had to order additional ones from Amazon while waiting for this order. There is no way to talk to someone except to call and hold for half and hour before getting any answers. Back to Amazon for me! "

Worst management - rude

"2511 Pine Ridge Rd/Airport Pulling, Naples, FL 34109
I went to exchange my ketone strips because it came ruined. The cashier wasn't being able to go ahead and do it, so she called the "manager" Zac which started his statement yelling that don't sell those there anymore. And I told him that I had just brought that there 2 days ago. He told me: Not in this store. And I said yes, here. Long store short, he was very rude, threated TO KICK ME OUT OF THE STORE, until I went to the back and got another product from that store shelf and handled to him. Them he changed the tone of his voice and said for the next time to keep the product box and keep the receipt. 1. how could I know the thing was not working properly? 2. My receipt comes on line, he could have checked before making all of this accusation. I am not stepping in that store anymore. It is the closest store to my hose and were I used to send all my prescriptions (changing for CVS now). That was unacceptable. KICK IUT OF THE STORE BECAUSE HE WAS BEING RUDE TO ME?

SHEER DISAPPOINTMENT !!!

"Dear Walgreens enterprise;
We're extremely disappointed to say that this has to be the WORST Walgreens store ever visited for the first time! My husband and I went in today, May 31, 2021 in the morning around 11AM. We were seeking to stock up on our favorite Arizona
Ice tea's that were 2 X.99! We ended up both getting two carts of 28 cans each as you must buy in multiples of 2 to get the sale. We get to the counter and the sales lady, which was an older lady, mid height, with a ponytail / gray hair, makes a disgusted face and looks at our carts! She doesn't acknowledge us but tells another lady! Oh my God look at their cats, and points to our carts! She didn't even acknowledge or greeted us? They just called the manager. I asked the mans position which he he stated that he was the "store lead" I asked his name, and wrok
it on a piece of paper stating that it was JAKE! He repeated that out of 2 FULL carts, he would only let us buy five (5) cans total, which I reminded him that you have to buy in multiples of 2s in order to get the special rate. So he then stared ((6)). I was in awe. I though I heard wrong, and asked six of each flavor?? He said NO...6 cans total! still in shock, I asked...for us BOTH?? He stated firmly yes! Any great or should I say; seasoned manager would' have tried to meet the customer halfway to keep a satisfied customer as well as make $$$ revenue for the store. This simply baffles me... this site which is located ((215 north second street El Cajon ca 92021)) management did NOT even try to do that or anything? So highly upset/ dissatisfied, we ended up leaving the store with zero -00 buys, as well as wasting gasoline! We want seeking some sort of resolution to this matter as painless as possible from higher management!

Overcharged. Garbage Customer Service

"I was overcharged for a prescription even after I showed the GoodRx price to the pharmacy tech. At the counter they stated that it was a different medicine and that I had to pay $180. Upon returning home and checking the GoodRx it was the exact prescriptions it was ordered they overcharged Me by $50. I am now trying to get a refund and customer service has neglected to call me back for 3 weeks. As for me I have switched back to Walmart where the price everyday without insurance is $110"

Pharmacy system inept.

"Walgreens automated rx system is a nightmare!! It has its own agenda,and it often does not work properly..The pharmacists are great,the problem is they work for Walgreens.We have been experiencing this since the loss of Rite Aid, who was excellent.Looking for a better drugstore ,staying with Walgreens is not an option.."

Horrible customer service

"Upon having to call the pharmacy at store #4197 at 8500 West Cheyenne LV NV I had to talk to PHILLIP, one of the most RUDE AND SNOTTY PEOPLE I'VE BEEN SUBJECTED TO and when I asked for his name again because I would probably change pharmacies his reply was "EXCELLENT " They OBVIOUSLY don't care about our business, which is fine because there's a pharmacy on every other corner. With a store rating as low as 2.1 " WITH GOOD REASON" obviously Walgreens isn't doing much to fix these problems, I've had trouble in South Florida as well. Maybe they just have SO MUCH BUSINESS they just don't care! I for one do not have to be subjected to this CRAP "

Horrible service and coupon policy

"Store on Mormon Coulee Rd lacrosse wi 54601.
A must share for all who shop at Walgreens!!! Yesterday I went there, I had several pampers coupons and pampers wipes coupons that I clipped digitally from they're website to my Walgreens account. I go to check out and the manager at the store on Mormon Coulee Rd told me because they didn't show up on his register, that he wouldn't honor them. He said that they're new policy is that they only honor the lowest coupon that shows up. Yet.... I got the coupons from they're site, and none of them were expired. Why in the hell do they have manufacturer's coupons on they're site then??? I will be calling corporate in the morning. Hope they enjoy all the business they are going to loose. People specifically shop there because of the coupons and rewards cash!!! Manager I had the displeasure 9f dealing with is named Cody.

Failure to advertise problem was solvable

"I ordered contact lenses to a store at a location where I would be for a 2 week vacation. The lenses did not arrive before I had to leave for home. Customer service informed me that contact lenses have a 15 day standard ship time and it was the Holiday season, adding more delays. Had I known standard shipping for contacts was 15 days I would not have ordered, but their website did not mention that long of a shipping time. I wrongfully assumed that contact orders were as quick as filling a pharmacy prescription. The customer service agent also agreed that the 15 day shipping period should have been mentioned outright.

Because the lenses arrived at the store location after I left town, I had no way to pick them up. The local store's customer service said there was nothing they could to to send them to my hometown store- as the shipping is handled through FedEx. Long story short, I called the customer service line again who then connected with the contact supplier's customer service and Susan was able to get a replacement order sent to my home address. I'm grateful that the problem was dealt with very effectively, but if there was more information available outright during my initial ordering, this all could have been avoided.
