"To start out my review, I would like to thank one person in the Wicked Lasers buisness in particular: Jim Kay. After I put my previous review up, Jim had quickly helped me to get my laser ASAP. Aside to Jim, I am still disapointed with my product. To make a long story short, this is what happened over the 6 months during the hold-up: my credit card was charged the very next day, I never actually got the product that I officially ordered (which to me is EXTREMLEY unprofessional) and was sent a crappier one for what I paid (without warning), and I was given faulty information on the laser that I got in the end ( which was said to easily pop dark colored balloons, burn through elctrical tape and dark colored paper). I give my thanks to Jim, but otherwise, Wicked Lasers needs to first, let their costumers know what is going on EVERY STEP of the way with each and every product, give them EXACTLY what the ordered the FIRST time, and charge them after the laser has been physically shipped out to them. I don't know if it's gotten any better since I received my product, but if it hasn't, they really need to improve their buisness skills."
"Wicked Lasers has lied no less than 10 times in emails and on their facebook page about when they are shipping.
They finally, after 3 weeks of asking, sent us pictures of their "assembly line".
It consisted of 1 lady with no safety gear, assembling approximately 5 lasers on what could as well have been a fold up table.
Then another picture of approximately 10 lasers on another table being shot at a wall to "test".
They charged us all over a month ago, and have not sent anything, except lies and excuses."
"Exact same problem with Wicked as the others had. I called my bank and am perusing a charge back."
"* 10Aug2011 - Final update. I did finally receive my laser, plus an E2 laser, tripod, cleaning kit, and a lens kit as a bonus thank you for waiting so long. I can understand the reasons why it took over a year to get my product. I can not, however, excuse the lack of communication. Just painfully bad. It wouldn't have been that hard to manage it in away people felt comfortable with wait. Was the product worth it? For $200 (at the time, $300 now) the laser kicks ass. Simply amazing. Still I would've canceled had I the opportunity to, just as a safe decision.
======================== OLD REVIEW ========================
Thus far my experience with WickedLasers has been atrocious. This is the bulleted version.
* 18Jan2011 - STILL no response to anything, emails, calls, nothing. This company is garbage. Only when I posted here have I EVER receieved ANY response.
* 17Dec2010 - No new news, Laser in customs, sent wicked lasers an email asking for refunded. Replied in my support ticket, again. Yet again no responses. Will be emailing weekly.
* 28Nov2010 - Replied to the email from below. Checked in on my support ticket created on the 16th of October due to my laser being seized at customs. No response. No follow up to any means of communications. Neat.
* 17Nov2010 - Received an email from Jim in regards to this review. It stated exactly the following:
"The CEO asked me to contact you. What can we do for you so that you may see us in a better light?...And change the review you made. We are working on all aspects of our operations as we fell far behind when our products started selling far beyond our production capabilities.
Please contact me at ****@****"
Perhaps they could've looked into my support ticket, and/or confirmed I received my laser before asking for a review change.... which they didn't, nor have I received my laser.
* 7Nov2010 - 3 weeks later, and no repsonse from customs and/or wickedlasers on the matter. I guess I'll do what I've always done. Wait and hope. Never, ever, order from this company unless you can reverse charges on your payment method for up to one year. Seriously. This is aweful.
* 15Oct2010 - Recieved a call from the US Customs due to a package from China. Oddly enough my package went from China, to Alaska to Ontario, California; and yet i recieved a call from a gal in Kentucky. Strange. Wicked lasers never sent me a tracking #, the only way I recieved mine was when the customs gal called and informed me of it. After a lengthy conversation it appears the company WickedLasers is on a national hold list with the FDA & Customs. Seems suspect for a company that "guarantees" it's approved for import into the US. The gal nicely informed me that there is a very low chance of actually seeing my package delivered. So, naturally, I filled a support ticket with WickedLasers, and called them out on their "Guaranteed to get your laser or DOUBLE your money back" claim they have on their website. We'll see how that goes...
* 14Oct2010 - Still no laser, still no word on anything. Neat-o. Avoid these guys like the plague.
* 19Jul2010 - Received another mass email, this time from the CEO Steve Liu. This email started off by saying the price for the S3 Spyder Arctic is going up $100 to $299.95 on July 23rd. To further add insult, they raised the so called "EMS" shipping rate from $20 to $40 for the laser. Neat. (Good thing you got that $50 coupon boy-o.)They also stated the G1 is "in stock" and ready to ship within 24 hours, and the G2 is out of stock, but will be available to ship in one week. They also erroneously listed the G1 as the model with the "smart switch" and the G2 as the model without. So, they corrected their error by posting on their facebook page, NOT re-emailing their customers.
Here's something else to consider. WickedLasers does NOT send tracking #'s as to avoid any unpleasentries with your country's customs officials. This tells me the G1 version was non-USA compliant as the G2 is *supposed* to be legal. But if the G2 is legal, why not send the tracking numbers? This poses a accountability problem. A big one, on an already overdue product.
As of now website shows "in stock" and they'll happily take your money. From the research I've done, this is not the first time this problem has happened to them either. Seems pretty familiar every time they have a hot new laser product. No one I'm aware of has received their laser, and yet, despite all of this, wicked lasers seems to have the most loyal, unyielding fanatics telling everyone whose upset to just calm the heck down and chill, they're good for it, and it'll come...
... in closing, their customer service is non-existent, and appropriately, their communication methods are just plain frustrating to say the least. If they didn't have a unique product I wanted, I'd have been done a LONG time ago. If this laser doesn't arrive pristine, and without excuses, I'm going to go volcanic.
If it does arrive as expected and all is as well as it can be, my advice to a potential customer is to wait about 3-6 months after they've advertised a hot new laser and let the "kinks" be worked out. It will, hopefully, provide for a much more enjoyable experience.
* 16Jul2010 - No news on shipping status, nothing. BUT, they did post in their forum & facebook, a $50 off coupon for future orders or free goodies for anyone that wanted to APPLY for it via email. (Really? They could've emailed their customers this.) I did apply for the coupon, and I'm yet to see it.
* 15Jul2010 - No email, no forum update, no tracking number.
* 14Jul2010 - They posted on their facebook page, everything's on track to start shipping on the 15th.
* 30Jun2010 - Received mass email from a Andrew Hammel stating they've updated the on/off switch to allow new "features and safety." (Dubbed the G2 w/"Smart Switch", this enabled a strobe, and hi & low power modes, with a safety switch of sorts) Gave option to have shipped the existing version (The G1) with the on/off switch only. (No multi-mode and safety switch.) Both versions estimated ship date is July 15th. From here the only way to get updated on the status was to check their user forums, and/or their facebook page.
* 23Jun10 Created a support ticket. No response. Ever. Called again, pushed every menu option I could until a live person got on the line. Broken English at best. Told shipping in 1-2 weeks, I think.
* 22Jun2010 - attempted to get some followup on order, only recieved simple email that card has been billed with an order number. Tried contact via 877 number. Dumped to voicemail. Live chat, dumped to email service.
* 16Jun2010 - Original Order Placed
Showed "in stock" for the S3 Spyder Arctic Blue Laser. Credit Card billed within an hour."
